Whirlpool WTW8000DW Washer Customer Reviews

Amazing washing machine

I bought this washing machine about 1 month ago to replace a washing machine from 1984. I absolutely LOVE it! The settings are easy to use. I love the countdown clock. I can't believe that you can set the washer to a delayed start time! It's quiet, washes well, and my clothes look great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Great Features

Love this washer. It has intuitive touch, which means it senses your touch so you are not having to push hard on controls. Saves on electric and water, comfortably does larger loads. This means I no longer have to do laundry every day! Washed all my comforters before storing for the season, with no center agitator the size did not matter. Only drawback is it has a deep drum. I purchased a small folding step stool, which I can use when needed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This washer is awesome; I really like the extra large tub so I can wash my cali-king comforter knowing I'm not over tasking the machine.

Kind of noisy but gives a great wash!

You can hear clearly the water splashing while it's filling. You can clearly hear the noisy motors working the wash. But damnn are those clothes clean! As for reliability? Only owned it for a month so who the heck knows. Send me the survey a year from now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Best Washer ever!

I bought the washer about a month ago and couldn't be any happier with it. I can wash my comforter in it or the smallest load ever and it never lets me down. I used to have a front loader, this top loader has my clothes smelling fresh and clean all day long! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Cleans really well

My husband bought this for me as a replacement for the Whirlpool washer with the center agitator. This new washer is wonderful -- large capacity, lots of setting selections to customize each wash load, does the smallest load to the very bulkiest we have! I love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Great washing machine

We have had this washer for about a month, extremely easy to use. Washes king size bedding with no issues. Clothes come out clean and well spun to lessen drying time [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Quiet load sensing nice design. Sheets come out softer than ever. Quite an upgrade over what we had.

 Super Quiet and Great Cleaning

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and have been impressed with how quiet this machine is even on heavy and bulky loads. We have waterproof furniture covers that were a pain to wash--not even super-huge washing machines at the laundromat did a good job spinning out the water but I was surprised with how well the Whirlpool did washing and spinning this bulky item and the matching Whirlpool dryer did an excellent job drying it as well. I have to say that we bought this to replace a Whirlpool washer that we had for 21 years, only needed repaired 1 time, and was still fully operational!! I want a washer that doesn't need repaired every 6 months and hope this one lives up to its predecessor.

 Heavenly!

The washer and dryer that came with the house started failing almost immediately after I moved in. So fed up after multiple days when water poured out from washer bottom and clothes were sopping in machine. Went off to buy new appliances. The washer is terrific. So easy to use, I can do one load of clothes instead of multiple loads. A great joy to,wash clothes. If you are considering buying one, you will not be unhappy.  Life changing machine!!!

This washer has changed my families life! We can wash a comforter effectively and do large loads of clothes at a time! With a family of 5 this is life changing! Used to be a constant battle to get laundry done and we would have-7-10 baskets of laundry and each basket was 2-3 loads in our old washer now 1 basket is one load!!! And the options for washing and operation of the washer is so easy my 8yr old does does it! Can't say enough about this washer it is huge, easy to operate, and we scored a really good deal from homedepot on price.

 Love this washer!

I'm very pleased with this washer. This is my first top-load after many years of using front loaders and I can't find fault with it. Pros: It's American made, there's no central agitator, settings are customizable, and the drum is huge. Other reviewers mentioned noise and badly wrinkled clothes, but I don't find the noise bothersome and because I don't machine dry everything, I always pull the articles out of the washer and give them a shake before putting them in the dryer or on the rack. Con: if you are 5'3" or shorter you might need a step stool to reach to the bottom of the washer. I'm 5'4" and am on tiptoes with my head in the machine to reach bottom.

 I love it

Just dumped my previous washer of another brand (catastrophic spin self destruction), and replaced it with this Whirlpool. I have been very impressed. It's easy with this unit's display to get the cycle you actually need, and it has functioned flawlessly cleaning our laundry noticeably better than the last washer. I am completely satisfied.  Best washer we've ever had!

We bought this a month ago. We didn't want a front loader and all on our previous washers have had agitators. We are so pleased with our purchase. The spin cycle alone nearly dries the clothes, preparing them for a short drying time. Controls are easy to use and see. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Wonderful Washer

This is a great washing machine. It has a large capacity and quiet run cycles. The digital operation is clear and easy to use- not so sophisticated that the technology is confusing. Clothes are nicely cleaned regardless of cycle chosen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Love!

We purchased this washer 2 years ago right after our first daughter was born and now with our second, we go through a lot of laundry. This washer is great! I love the different settings you can chose from for each laundry type and it's nice and quiet.

 Great washing machine

I have had this for a month now and am happy with the purchase. After reading many reviews and seeing it in the store i felt comfortable purchasing this machine. I read the instructions and have not had a problem with it. Even though it may take longer to wash it Gets the clothes clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 New Washer

We bought this set about a month ago. We bought Whirlpool due to our old ones lasting 15+ years. So far we are very satisfied with our purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The best purchase I've ever made!!

For the first time in the history of married couples, my wife and are actually fighting each other to do laundry!! After years of buying the cheapest sets we didn't realize how awesome the other side is. The size and quietness are unbelievable. We used to have an endless pile of laundry and now we can do at least 4 times the amount at once. We can't say enough good things about it. Also Made in America!!! Love it!  Love this machine! Washing made easy...

The control panel is very intuitive and easy to use. It lets you select a variety of wash cycles, water temperatures and spin rates for your needs. A bit unusual is the detergent/softener dispenser located just under the cover, but again, easy to use and it seems to be self-cleaning - a bigger plus. So far I have done everything from small to big loads, heavy to delicate and it works to perfection. A newer safety addition is the locking lid. When you start a cycle, then the lid locks. It also has a Deep Water setting for those times you need to soak those heavily stained items. Nice machine! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

NEVER BUY ANOTHER FOREIGN MADE MACHINE AGAIN

I bought this about a month ago and I love it! Its quiet its efficient and I don't know why I strayed away from Made in the USA last time I bought a washer. This does the job and does it well and its huge you can wash a lot in one load! Thanks Whirlpool for reminding me again why its always best to buy MADE IN THE USA! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Replaced old 15 year washer with this machine and so far no issues, it's quiet and doing a good job [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

First new washer in 15 years

This washer is more like a computer. Smart settings and user friendly. Very good machine. Love the large loads I can do in it.

My previous washer was 26 years old. Although there was nothing wrong with it, I thought it best to replace it now rather than waiting for it to fail. I replaced it on 12/15/2016 with a Cabrio and love it! My daughter-in-law has one so I have used a similar model before. The best part for me is no agitator to always be in the way. Now washing bulky items like bedspreads, blankets, etc. is not a hassle. I detest running to a laundromat just to have access to a large washer. No longer! Why did I wait so long to replace my old one?

I had a Whirlpool Cabrio prior to this one and really liked it. This time I got the larger tub. Great product.

 QUIet and efficient

I like the different settings! Easy to use! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Awesome machine!

Very happy with the Whirlpool washer. Super easy to use lots of cycle options. The only thing I would advise is if you are on the shorter side...getting to the bottom of the huge tub is a little difficult. But on the flip side having that big deep tub allows for washing things like a comforter or other bulky items so I just love it!. It's very quiet and efficient.I had heard the water level wasn't sufficient, but I have not found any issues with that. Everything comes out beautiful! I can see the difference in cleaning compared to my old washer. This does a great job, and it is so quiet. I also got this large capacity one to enable me to wash comforters, etc. It's so huge that I can barely reach the bottom of the washer without a step stool (I'm 5'5")! The only negative, which isn't a major problem, is that the hoses to the water supply are too short. The washer cannot be pushed back all the way, due to the presence of a vertical pipe, so more hose length (as on my old washer) would be better. But I love the washer! Definitely a good buy.

More Features and Easy to Use

We bought this less than a month ago as part of a washer/dryer set when our washer died. It performs flawlessly, uses less detergent, has a larger load capacity and washes more clothes in less time than our older Whirlpool washer. It is also considerably more quiet when operating. Wifey LOVES it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Great appliance!

While there were no problems with the 26 year old washer I had previously, I decided to replace it rather than waiting for something to happen to it. I researched many brands and decided on this Whirlpool Cabrio. My daughter-in-law has the Cabrio line in a washer and dryer, and I have used the washer while staying with them. I can't imagine why I waited so long to replace my old washer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Excellent cleaning

I purchased the WTW8000DW washing machine (with installation) about 6 weeks ago. Fortunately, it came with information indicating that when washing it would sound different than my old center agitator washer. (There are more clicking sounds.) So far it has provided excellent cleaning of fabrics and does an even better job than my old washer at removing cat hairs from bulky items like plush throws. I'm quite happy with this washer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 HE Top Load Washer

Over-all, the washer performs as expected. However, there are two quirks that you need to get used to. First, supposedly, HE pods provide too much detergent. However, the washer came with Tide HE pods. Second, the controls are not as easy as they look. It takes some time to decipher what they all mean and the user guide is useless as a reference document. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 No agitation

We chose the Cabrio because it did not have an agitator. What we didn't know is that the controls were all computerized. The tub is very deep so we are also dealing with retrieval of the clean laundry. We are learning how to use it and finding out it really is not rocket science.

 Cabrio Comes Home

Am pleased with my purchase after agonizing over reviews and price tags. Previously, I owned a Kenmore Elite, Whirlpool made, and loved it. Decided to get HD's great no interest 12-month option and purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio. It lacks some of the wash options of my old washer, but I didn't use all of them any way. This washer cleans, spins on delicates when I ask, and has pleased me since it arrived Sept. 12, '16. Since, HD guarantees that should I have problems I can return the machine, I am on happy street. I am a pleased consumer and really like my Cabrio HE as it washes great with NO problems.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the machine after about three months of use. The size of the tub is great. The controls are sometimes hard to activate and I wish for a few more options.

 The Better Machine

Everything is better about the Cabrio than the other machines out there. From the end- cycle's piano notes (instead of a silly "song")to the high speed spin that gets your heaviest towels almost dry. My only wish is that it had the old Hand Wash cycle. The Delicate cycle is still a bit brisk for fine lingerie. I have always bought the Whirlpool Cabrio over the years but circumstances last time around pushed me to purchase a different brand. Never again. I LOVE my Cabrio. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Good washer

Cleaned clothes as would be expected. Only did a few loads but found the rinse cycle used the same temp water at the wash cycle. Didn't see a separate temp setting for the rinse. The tub is huge and so deep my 4'11: wife couldn't empty the wash. We had to return it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Nice washer

Bought this washer to replace a Kenmore that just wasn't working right anymore. Love the size and the features but I wish it had a towels mode and it would have been perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Jury is still out

I like the machine, had to have it serviced 6 months after purchase, tech said it was a common problem with the machine???? Gasket or something. Fixed it last week, no issues since. That aside, very happy if the "fix" isn't temporary. Last washer was 20 years old and took a beating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Fair

I bought this washer about a month ago, I replaced a Samsung that was a recall (no longer trust Samsung) I had whirlpool in the past so I purchased a new one. There are a few things that bother me about this model first, you don't know what cycle it's on, such as rinse, spin, etc it doesn't show it, also if the load goes off balance you don't know it just adds more and more time to the cycle (no beep to let you know) so if you don't check the machine it will just continue to go. I know this because it happened to me. So now I know to watch it. It also makes banging noises when it fills and drains. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Ease of Use

Bought 3 mos. ago. Was uneasy about use and reviews of noise. So far it seems to working fine, except at times when the tub shifts gears. Seems to shift very hard and loud at times. Which concerns me. Hoping it isn't a sign of trouble to come. Clothes come out clean, even a king size comfort. No problem with the water levels. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

yes i would recommend Cabrio to others the "washer" , just not at Home Depot warranty service ! the warranty protection plan says ( repair , or "replace it" ! ) when you buy a 3 or 5 year plan ! we paid $125 for a 5 year plan !! $125 covers products from $550 - $799 !! but when they said they could not fix it ! after tech was here less than 10 minutes ! they said they would refund on a e card for home depot !! I asked if we can replace it like there add says ! when i see 1 on there web site pretty identical!! they said they can't do that !! she said i should have read the fine print ! on a different page than the check out and warranty purchase page !! so they were or are going to give a card for half the price to replace it !! $ 347.99 that is not enough for me to replace it or fix it !! So i ask myself ! why buy a protection plan when it does no good ! from Home Depot /Assurion !! i must add before this purchase i had bought a washer from Home Depot to take home ,get it out of the box and see it has a big dent in it ! so i had to box it back up take it back ! they oked it to go back and to find another washer to replace it since " they " did't have another 1 like the dented 1 to replace it with ! so we put more money down to get the Cabrio Whirlpool platnum and warranty protection plan !! thanks for a terrible experience !! so i ask myself "why" buy warranty, cause things don't last like they use to !! i have done some more research and the Cabrio can be fixed it maybe easier than buying anything, could be a loose nut in the washer or else where , LOL ! maybe not by there techs ! they would rather give a run around !! have you wait and wait for a call !! ect. PS have a Good Day !! they are loosing me as a customer and anyone else i pass this to ! Very Unhappy Customer !! i do meet a lot of new home owners ! thru building , landscaping , and the realtors who sell the houses ! I will be passing this along ( there service ) if no result happens !! take it or leave it !!!

I love the look and functions of this washer. Replaced my Whirlpool duet that I've had for over 10 years without a single problem. I've only had the cabrio for a week and I'm not sure what to think yet. It makes a creaking sound which doesn't seem normal to me. And during one load, it was stuck at 32 minutes for over 20 minutes. Just kept filling with water, then spinning over and over. Hopefully not an indicator of anything wrong.

 New features

Bought it about a month ago replacing a whirlpool washer that was only 5 years old. It had been repaired many times and it was not cost effective to keep it. I bought another whirlpool because of space restraints. I hope I have better luck with this one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

While I appreciate the size and speed in which my laundry gets done in this machine i cannot believe how wrinkled the clothes come out after the washer is finished. Most clothes come out wrinkled even after being in dryer, we are now starting to use wrinkle releaser in hopes to reduce wrinkles. Hopefully this works but it also comes at an additional cost if not we we have to spend additional time ironing all of our clothes. Very dissapointed in this product

Super deep to reach down into

I love how well it cleans but I hate how hard it is to reach down into to get the clothes out of. I'm 5'4 and still have a big problem getting stuff out of it. If it wasn't for the extra capacity and the great cleaning power I would have sent it back after the first load [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We purchased one of these from HD in April 2016 and were happy only with the fact that this had a huge tub size. Problem is that the washer never completely rinsed our clothes, which was apparent on dark clothes with white soap stains left behind. We tried the extra rinse setting, and the high water level setting, but no improvement. We even had one service call with this complaint, but no improvement was seen. One washer load took well over one hour to complete the cycle. HD did the right thing and refunded us for both washer and dryer set and we wound up going with Samsung products. I was very disappointed with the Whirlpools, but very very please with Crystal handling of our needs at the Escondido, Calif branch.

Disappointed with soap residue on clothes

I saw reviews that said soap residue was a problem and I was hoping that using the right He liquid detergent and wash settings that this wasn't true but it is. If there are dark clothes in the load (even a small load) you have to either run the deep water cycle or an extra rinse to make sure there is no soap residue, and if you don't there is no option to just run a rinse cycle either. Very disappointed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Dead after 5 years

Ran great until it didn't. Throwing error codes on spin and won't finish cycle. Will cost $450 to repair, assuming repair works. Figure we're better off buying new machine. I'm i the only person who thinks a washer should last longer than 5 years? I mean, this isn't exactly new, cutting edge technology here.

 50/50

I replaced an older model Cabrio with this one and was super excited about it. Love the way it looks. After using it for a couple months, I am disappointed. I read the manual and used the recommended wash settings. Not a fan of the low water wash. Not all the clothes get wet so they can't be getting washed therefore they aren't clean. I use the deep water setting on every load. The machine is loud. I am constantly checking on it because of the noises it makes. I'm glad I purchased the extended warranty with it because I'm afraid I might need it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Beware buyers. I paid a lot of money for this washer less than 7 years ago and now it's going to the curb. A month ago I started having trouble with it not spinning. It seems the bearings are going out which means it will cost more to fix it than it's worth. I'm wondering how many of the comments are from new customers vs. ones like me.

DO NOT PURCHASE!! Bought this appliance in June, 2015 and I'm forced to buy a new one (broke in feb 2017). I've had 2 repairmen out to diagnose and they both told me the same thing...this particular machine has issues with the gear case that can cost up to $250+ (which is about 1/3 of the cost). They recommended LG. I bought an extended warranty for this Cabrio and per the contract they have up to 45 days to find the part. Ive already been without a washer for 1 week. Who can wait 45 days to have clean laundry??

Our second Cabrio washer, after two years of ownership, needed all new bearings! This is our second Cabrio washer in seven years - why we bought another after the first one had to be replaced because of the same bearing issue, I can not tell you. We are now shopping for our third washing mahine in eight years - DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER - WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL appliance!

Stuck with this washer for now. Apparently, it's widely known by the installers and the Whirlpool service technicians that this has a serious design flaw. There is a circular drum at the bottom of the washer that doesn't have sufficient clearance on the bottom and ends up grinding against the floor when loaded. The initial installation test would never encounter this since that's done without a full load of laundry. When weighted down by laundry+water, it experience loud grinding sounds and leave clothes only partially cleaned. This can be partially mitigated by extending the leveling legs/pegs under the washer. The Whirlpool service tech doesn't have this covered under the warranty and will charge you for the service call and STILL will not attempt to remedy the issue. They will tell you to contact the original installation company. Save yourself some trouble and get a different washer!

I hate this washer! My clothes do not get clean. It gets a out of balance very easily. It takes "FOREVER" to wash a load, even a small one. The door locks, so make sure you don't need to add any last minute clothes. The top of the washer slants down, so whatever you set on it will end up on the floor! Doesn't matter if the washer is running or not. Do not set your bag or groceries on top & leave the room & come back, you groceries will be all over the floor. Nothing can be set on it, even for a second. It is like a big slide.

One-star by default, but this is a zero-star product. Horrible product. We have a brand new "washing" machine that leaves our clothes dirtier than when they started (white residue on everything). We have had this machine for exactly 27 days. We have cleaned it, switched detergents, tried hot, cold, extra rinse... everything. And now we are stuck with it because return policies on watching machines are for 48 hours.

worst product ever! we have been battling with whirlpool since we bought this in June 2016. The washer and dryer are putting holes in all of our clothes. It has been almost a year and Whirlpool still has not fixed the issue! Do not buy

 WARNING.....DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

I have put off for a while now giving my opinion of this washing machine, well I have had enough. We bought ours about a year ago and only wishing we would have returned in the 30 days that who we bought from allowed. Thankfully my wife and I have jobs that our cloths don't get visible dirt but on the days just doing simple yard work I have had to wash my jeans up to three times to get the light stains out. I will sum things up by saying THIS WAS THE WORSE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!!

Biggest waste of money I have ever encountered in an appliance. It has one job; wash clothes.. I can beat my jeans on a rock in the river and do better than this machine. It sounds like a jet engine during the spin cycle and leaves parts of washer pods stuck to your clothes if it even gets them damp enough to open the pod. I will never buy a whirlpool appliance again if this is their standard of quality. What a hunk of junk.. Just this week we noticed it throwing grease on the floor of the laundry room where the bearing that is not worth fixing is obviously failing.. Wow.. Stay far away folks.

 Don't buy this machine

I have had this washer for less than 2 years and it began to make a lot of noise during cycles. The lid broke about a year ago, and yesterday, I kept getting a UL code. Called repair specialist and was told this model Cabrio is nothing but trouble and he could come fix the springs for about $300 but that I was wasting my money because they would break again in about 3 months and then the panel goes bad and there's no fixing it at all. Of course my warranty is out and I'm faced with buying a new machine in less than two years or pour good money after bad to repair this machine that was expensive. DON'T BUY THIS WASHER!!!!!

 Clothes are still dirty!

Purchased in September. Very disappointed, as our clothes never get clean. Did I mention that I was leary of the touch screen panel. I knew that it would be a problem and it is. Less than 3 months after purchase the touch screen rarely works with a simple touch as it did in the beginning. Not worth the money and I definitely wouldn't recommend. Appliances are just not made well nowadays.

Have always been a Whirlpool fan so we bought the matching washer & dryer online with the understanding we had 48 hrs. to change our mind if we didn't like or it didn't work. Dryer motor was not working right at the time of delivery. Then the first time I ran the washer, couldn't believe how loud each of the cycles changing is (sounds like the machine is coming apart) And then the 2nd time I used it, the timer got stuck & wouldn't quit til I manually hit the power button. When you buy expensive appliances brand new, they should be working perfect. Needless to say, we are not happy. And now working with Home Depot/Whirlpool in trying to return & exchange for something that works correctly has been a nightmare!
