The 24.5 cu. ft. french door refrigerator by Whirlpool has a new sleek design with a filtered water and ice dispenser with added controls and options, 1 refrigerator drawer, and 1 freezer drawer. This is a great refrigerator with most people loving their purchase. The biggest complaint is the ice maker and minor durability issues.
I bought my refrigerator day after Christmas 2016. I love the capacity since I have 3 small children and the external drawer makes accessing lunch meat etc easy. The LED lighting is nice. I like the ice and water dispense in the door. The stainless steel look is sleek and easy to care for. Would highly recommend this product. Wonderful refrigerator!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This fridge has so much usable space its crazy. The middle drawer is an amazing idea. Our veggies stay fresh days longer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Should of had this unit years ago. Abundant room, good lighting, Working on how to keep the finish not show finger prints. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This Whirlpool refrigerator has many great features but my favorite one is the external middle drawer. It is designed for a variety of foods but targeted for drinks. Higher priced models allow this drawer to be independently temperature controlled but I don't think it is worth the extra money. The LED lighting effectively illuminates the interior. Also, the ice maker is in the interior of the top compartment and has a sufficiently sized hopper. While it takes up more of the interior space, it is a good trade off for more available amounts of ice.
We cook a lot for ourselves and company. Big kitchen but small space for fridge. #1 reason we bought it is the middle drawer. we can put a full size sheet of appetizers in to keep cool instead of prepping right before guests arrive. We also can pull it out and see at a glance our stock of small size items. Freezer is just right size and drawers for maintaining stock of frozen items. Top slider drawer allows moving half the stuff out of the way in a second. The double doors open everything up but without having a huge, wide door swinging into food prep space. Sorry we didn't buy it years ago. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love the space of the refrigerator side and the easy access, i like the unit because is noise free, works great i really recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This refrigerator is great, and the Home Depot delivery crew were superb. Can't beat their price, either. I didn't think the installers could get the old refrigerator out our front door, much less the new refrigerator back in. But they did, using two guys with shoulder harnesses and a strap under the refrigerator. No damage to the refrigerator or our home. I have only one complaint about this refrigerator. The LED lighting is all in one rather thick fixture at the top/center of the refrigerator., which means that objects can cast shadows. This is a very minor complaint, though. I was expecting several smaller LED light fixtures strategically located around the edges inside the refrigerator, to avoid the shadows.
Great feature set, plenty of configuration options, looks good. The LED lights gradually brighten so you don't get blinded with a sudden flash of bright light when you open the door. I really like the smaller rounded ice cubes (our old frig made larger rounded cubes but they would often create a "dam" in your cup making it hard to get a drink) these are just the right size. The blue LEDs on the dispenser paddles make a convenient night light so you can get a glass of water without turning on the overhead kitchen light at night. The only thing I would suggest is to add leveling capability on the rear wheels. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Aside from the sides of the fridge not being metal, which I knew goin' in... The ice maker has to go somewhere, but it's intrusive on the left side top shelf area. Not too bad, tho. The usability is great, aside from opening the right door first, conversely, shutting the left door first. Not a bother after you get used to it.
we bought this a month ago. we are very happy with the unit. no complaints, [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this for our new home. Looks great. Have only had it for a few weeks now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love this fridge. Some comments said that the ice cube dispenser doesn't hold a lot of ice but I have never had a problem with it. I love the look and the room it has. I really love the extra door.
We are loving our new refrigerator. It is so convenient and very quiet. Easy to get access to everything. We love the drawer for produce and snacks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Had previous fridge for about 18 years. Decided to go with a bottom freezer, but were concerned with the fact that bottom freezers don't have as much space as top freezers. We found this one has good freezer space. The fridge and fridge drawer are also nice size. Also nice features on the water dispenser. We purchased it during Black Friday so we haven't had it for long, but are very happy with our choice. Only problem we had was with installing it were our previous fridge was - the fridge frame is huge. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have had our fridge for a month and a half and absolutely love it. The only thing that had to be done to it was to re-calibrate the automatic water dispense, it was off. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My 10-year old GE Profile Arctica fridge died (compressor went) and it was going to be cheaper to get a brand-new fridge, so I started looking and comparing. What drew me to this fridge was the middle drawer. It is huge and makes cooking easier because I can quickly pull it open and pull out vegetables and onions and such. The LED lighting is amazing and so bright. I also love the sensor that lets you know if the door has been open too long. Getting this fridge on sale (over $600 saved) makes it an incredible deal.
I purchased this fridge a month ago. Easy to set up and we have received numerous positive comments on the design and features of the fridge. I would recommend this fridge 100%. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I had seen this refrigerator 2 years ago but having made a large purchase at the time I thought I had better wait and save some money. I had gone to Lowes with my husband and on the way out I picked up an almanac. The clerk told me there was an eleven percent savings at the bottom of my cash register slip. Then black Friday came and I saw the refrigerator in the ad for 40% off. With the eleven percent off I was able to purchase the refrigerator. I told my family it was happy birthday and merry Christmas to me! I have had it now for 3 weeks and love it. All my appliances are Whirlpool. The oldest one I still have is my 20 year old dishwasher. It still runs like a champ. Should it stop working you can bet my next one will be Whirlpool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought this two weeks ago. I've never owned a French door refrigerator before this but I liked the idea of not having to bend down every time I wanted to access veggies (most side by sides store veggies in the lower section for humidity control). The nifty little drawer makes it very convenient to access things for which I wouldn't want to open the fridge all the way. We have been storing produce in it, but it can be modified to suit your needs. I was a little worried about the freezer not being upright, but the wire shelves are designed well and doesn't seem like I have to hunt much for frozen items. And an ice and water dispenser was, well, indispensable for us. Love it that it does not seem to block out too much of the fridge space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've had this refrigerator about 3 weeks. I love it! It was delivered when promised, installed and ready within minutes. The gentlemen who delivered and installed it were quick about their work and gave me a quick overview of "need to know" things. I love how it looks in my kitchen and it has SO MUCH SPACE. This is my first french door refrigerator and I will never go back to the conventional refrigerator with the freezer on the top. I'm loving the freezer on the bottom -- so much easier to see what's in there and easy to organize. I almost didn't get the model with the smaller drawer in the middle -- now I'm so glad I did. It's great for those often needed items (cheeses, cold cuts, butter) . The ice maker makes lots of ice and the water and ice feature in the door is so convenient. I am a very satisfied customer.
I have had this unit only one month. With that, and if it continues to work as most units have, I have this to say. This unit is very nice! Easy to use, roomy. The "soda" drawer keeps things very accessible and adjustable cold. The bottom loading freezer is large and easily accessible. My favorite is the water dispenser. Measured water dispensing, with a water shelf big enough to hold a standard glass for hands free filling.
Overall an exceptional unit so far! Delivered around noon, was down to temp by 4pm. Easy peasy installing the water line and INCLUDED water filter, and positioning shelves, drawers, bins. This unit just fit with a 1/4" gap, under 69" cabinets, and easily in a 38" wide cutout. Plenty of space inside all the compartments. Produce drawers are shallower than I'd like, but most fruit is in the external drawer, so I can use both for just veg's... And they do open fully with door only 90 degrees. Started with our prior fridge full, moved everything over and even added a quick trip to market... With room to spare! Two things I didn't even think of when researching units: (1) the doors - not just hinges - extend ABOVE the top of the case, making my "liquor cabinet" inaccessible without notching the doors, and (2) if you position the fridge with its left side against a wall, you cannot open the left door far enough to remove the ice bin. Now, neither of these are deal breakers for me, but I wish I had seen heads-up reviews during my research... So here is yours.
We bought this refrigerator about a month ago and couldn't be happier! It replaced a Kenmore Elite that had experienced MULTIPLE service calls in the 9 years we've had it. It finally just decided to freeze everything (thermometer inside the refrigerator registered 15 degrees), and there was no way to repair it. We chose Whirlpool after an independent repair company recommended it as the most reliable brand, and we bought this model at a Black Friday sale. I love the exterior pullout drawer, even though it's a feature I didn't think I would use. We are both very happy with this refrigerator. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It's the best Fridge. I would move....the ice maker, put it in the door, and make one of the inside drawers deeper, the slide in door compartments take a little to get used to....over all I love it. I am very proud of it, and I don't think Ige said that before about any appliance We purchased.
So far it's just perfect for us! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Absolutely love this fridge! The middle drawer (quick drawer) has been great for our kids. Just packed it with all sorts of healthy snack. Helps keep them out of the regular top portion of the fridge. Freezer part is very spacious. Great buy for our family!
We purchased this about 1 month ago. Love it. Each kid (3) has their own snack drawer in the center pull out section. Seems like good quality manufacturing for the price. I wish it would have the smudge free design...but we knew that when we purchased it. We just use hot water and soap...comes right off. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Looks great, works great, very quiet. I only have two complaints: 1. The drawers inside are very small i am using the middle drawer for beverages so i need the inside drawers for vegetables and some barely fit. 2. If the door is barely open the alarm wont sound it has to be open to a certain extent before it will sound. All in all love and recommend.
This is a fantastic refrigerator! It is beautiful and functional. We love the deli drawer and the measured water dispenser. The freezer drawer is a double drawer so nothing gets buried and its huge! the interior light comes on slowly so it doesn't blind you in the middle of the night when you're getting snacks. I would highly recommend this item.

Replaced our side by side with this and am so completely ecstatic with this purchase! Got an unbelievable price and it is far more roomy and much easier to organize. Finally can see everything we have in the freezer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Surprised at how roomy the refrigerator is compared to other 25cubic feet models. Happy with this purchase. No problems with it since our purchase last month.
From reviews I was hesitant primarily due to reports of noise. I am happy to say that although there are noises they are not intrusive nor loud. Compressors make normal sound and level to this level of fridge. Water intake and ice drop are the two which may make some upset but dropping ice cubes into a plastic bin makes noise and there is no way around it. Set up was easy and fast. Water purge of the lines went according to the manual and it starting making ice in eight hours. All factory settings keep food the way it is supposed to. Ice cream is solid but not frozen, milk is cold and not chunky. Love the drawer, it fits four bottles of wine on one side to chill quickly. Still getting used to two doors as it seems what ever I want is in the other side. My issue not the fridge. Outside is relatively smudge proof. If fingers are dirty expect prints. Handles alleviate this as long as they are used. Panel is straight forward and measured fill works great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We purchased this refrigerator 2 months ago. Hoping the old one would last until the "big kitchen remodel" (no chance) we were certainly on a budget for this unexpected expense in the mist of a full house remodel. We were between buying a "disposable" fridge OR buying what we had envisioned for our future kitchen. So we went BIG for a little price! We chose this product for the following reasons: 1) Closing of the French Doors is Seamless: it doesn't matter if you open just one door or both, the closure is smooth and secure (you don't have to close the doors in sequence in order to seal). 2) The External Drawer and Bottom Freezer Door are practically "self closing". Give a lil' push and you can feel it start to close. 3) The secondary pull out freezer basket is a wire basket and not a plastic tray 4) The exterior design is modern and sleek 5) The interior design is simple for grocery organization ****The only thing on my wish list would be one more shelf [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Our family loves this refrigerator and the drawer feature helps keep all those smaller items organized and easy to grab [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love this fridge so far. Looks gorgeous. Nice lighting. Ice maker works great so far. Only bad thing is when you close the left door the right one pops open. Had to tilt fridge to the rear which makes it unmovable (off the wheels) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I absolutely love this fridge!! It's huge and all of the little things they did for the design are great. Of course with any product you do have a few things you don't like. My only irritations are that I can't keep filling ice or water if doors or drawers get opened. I get the ice door making it not work but in a busy house like mine being able to fill water and open the drawer would be nice. Last thing was I lost door room compared to my old fridge and some of the condiment containers are too tall. I ended up taking a door shelf out because of that. But if your willing to compromise it more then makes up for it with how big the fridge actually is. I worried that having no door space would limit my actual fridge space by putting that stuff on a shelf but it didn't effect it at all.
I bought this on black Friday and have been very happy with its performance. It looks very modern and has a number of features that make it user friendly. While I like the look of Stainless Steel it does show finger prints and smudges easily. This requires a good deal more cleaning. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love my new fridge. The only reason it is getting 4 stars is because it was delivered with a small dent on the side. Otherwise. LOVE IT.
I love me new fridge. I had a 26 before and this 25 seems even bigger than my old one. The ice maker is slow in dispensing. My old one was too. The only complaint I have is that the delivery team damaged my old fridge when relocating it. I was going to fix and resale and now I can not even do that with the damage they did. Customer Service still has not resolved anything. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Fridge working out great so far. Plenty of room and slide out drawer is convenient. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought this fridge because my precious GE had compressor problems after 10 years of usage. We noticed that the materials quality is not the best, it doesn't look like a high end product. It's working as expected, but I missed the loud alarm from my GE when you leave a door inadvertently open. This whirlpool will make a couple of low volume beeps and that's it! I would expect a better open-door alarm system especially when you have 4 doors. The doors don't close easily, you have to apply some effort. Another thing that I don't like is that it doesn't give you the actual temperature, it only tells you the temperature that was set, but you can't tell whether it's actually there. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love the bottom freezer and the produce drawer. Everything works beautifully. My only complaint is that there isn't much space for taller items (like milk, etc.). I adjusted one of the shelves upward to increase this space, which leaves the top shelf with very little space.
I bought this a few weeks ago and so far I like it. I keep a lot of food, condiments, juices, etc because I have a big family. I wish the compartments on the side of the fridge could store more or make it to where taller items can fit in the fridge easier. I also noticed that the fridge is a little louder than what I am used to but it's not horrible. Cosmetically, I think it's a very nice fridge for the price. I love the features of the ice maker and water dispenser. My kids love the fridge because of the drawer that the fridge has. I try to store it with food and snacks for the kids so they don't need to open the entire fridge and rearrange things to get to what they want most. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
the fridge is great, but needed more training on the front computer pad. Last week, a sequence of touches to the pad, and it read "cooling off" from that point on, the pad was non responsive and the temp was increasing. Called Whirlpool and explained what had happened, the said a repairman will be out the next day. By the all the food was hot and had to be thrown out. The repairman got here, pressed a couple of buttons on the pad and the compressor kicked on. Why couldn't the Whirlpool guy has told me to do that? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Great refrigerator. It cools and freezes quickly. The water and ice dispenser work well and the pads have optional backlighting which is nice. The interior is roomy and I like the fact I don't have to open both doors to get inside the veggie drawers which I did in my last fridge. The interior lighting comes on slowly which is a nice extra feature. I think it's going to work out well for us. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it can be a little bit loud at times and the shelving was a little bit cheaper than I expected. However, it doesn't have to run that often so the loudness isn't a big issue. So far I would recommend this product.
I have had it two months and really like it. Love the middle drawer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this a week ago, it has so much space, I love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
So far, so good (just installed today) but wanted to share a heads-up about an optical illusion in the gallery. In the photo that features the small middle drawer (between fridge and freezer), you'll see what *appears* to be tall juice cartons on the right. This made us believe this drawer was deep enough to hold tall cartons; it's not. It's hardly a deal breaker, but wanted to spare other potential shoppers that surprise. You can easily put tall yogurt containers, sour cream, etc., but nothing taller than that. We'll come back to update in a week or so, but so far, quite happy! And oh dear, we've already learned of the perils on fingerprints on stainless. Crikey. What have we done?
Reason for four stars and not 5 is we We just bought this frig couple weeks ago. But we are very happy with it. installers were great and works perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
excessive fan noise. ice maker loud, and ice and water dispenser not user friendly. Probably could of done better for the money I spent. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I always wanted a refrigerator that had a middle drawer like this one has, but , I'm not very impressed with this fridge as a whole ! The ice compartment keeps plugging up and then ice Falls all over my floor and inside the fridge , the freezer door has a very loud click or knock when you open the door , and forget about trying to keep it clean on the outside as it collects every finger smudge and print and this just is not very efficient as far as room goes in the main refrigerator compartment , we are a family of 6 and we have a lot of food in the fridge , I'm sorry I bought this fridge and wish I would have returned it for something that had more space in the the main compartment. Sorry whirlpool, I've always preferred your products over many others , but this one just doesn't cut it ! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had this refrigerator for a little over a year, I like it BUT the ice maker does not make enough ice for the size of the maker and the ice is to big for it to come out with out stopping up the hole in the door ,this happens. About 75 per cent of the time
I updated my refrigerator because my old fridge ice maker was inconsistent between cube and crushed ice but it kept up well. That’s my only complaint with my new fridge. I’m guessing here, but it only holds about a third of a bag of ice. It’s empty after about 8 - 8 ounce glasses of ice and recovery is really slow. Since being empty last night, it’s still not full. I have to freeze cubes if I have company. Otherwise it's great, 38 degree fridge temp, 1 degree freezer temp and lots of room. The measurement of ounces is spot on too.
Ice maker- it not producing much ice it takes up a lot of refrigerator space, that has a lousy ice making feature and horrible configuration making it . The refrigerator drawers do not slide easily and are made of cheap plastic. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The look and feel of this refrigerator is very good but its ice maker is a complete failure. Its a very low capacity ice maker.....in other words, it doesn't make very much ice! It makes one small tray (12 cubes) every 3 hours. If you get a chance, take a look its ice maker, its small and you'll understand what I am saying immediately! I wish that we paid more attention to this detail.
Positive. Attractive looking. Keeps food cold. Negative. Ice dispenser clogs easily and trap door from the dispenser does not close all the time. If you open and close the left side door, the right side door will open a little bit. Your visitors and children may not notice and walk away leaving the door open.
rust on 10 month old fridge . my 10 month old stainless steel Whirlpool refridgerator has several rust spots on the front. I have a stainless steel garbage can in the same kitchen that's over 2 years old and it has no rust spots. So clearly this is a quality control issue with Whirlpool. Unfortunately warranty excludes. "12. Discoloration, rust, or oxidation of stainless steel surfaces. " Also when Home Depot installed they gouged up my wood floors (installers used a harness and rocked the old and new fridges on the wood floors to get on and off the harness rather than a dolly), i called 2 times to address and still haven't heard back from their third party group that handles this.
Bought the new fridge there was plastic in every seam on the fridge, the control panel doesn't work, the doors were not even. Very upsetting when you buy something for that sum of money and have had two repairman work on it and now they are suppose to replace it, sure do hope the other one is in better shape than this one . [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I would not buy this refrigerator. I bought this and 2 weeks later the water dispenser continuously leaks a small drip. I'm extremely disappointed. Additionally the left side door sticks and is not as easy to open as others I've used in the past. I thought after a couple months of use it would loosen up but that did not occur. I would not buy this refrigerator. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Within hours of being plugged in we could see there was an issue. The door seals don’t “grab” when you close the door (in other words, they don’t actually seal). The refrigerator began having condensation build up and drip all around the seals the same day it arrived. We ordered this fridge as part of an entire suite of new appliances after repairing our house from a major flood that hit our area. Home Depot installed it in our kitchen, which was newly remodeled with this refrigerator in mind, and is climate controlled at 74 degrees F. The refrigerator is set up but hardly ever opened because we are waiting for countertops to be installed before we start using the kitchen. Despite this, a significant amount of water droplets are running down the frame of the fridge behind the doors and collecting on the lower drawer and freezer drawer, as well as pooling on the ceiling of the interior behind the doors. We aren't trying to be picky about this, we would like the whole ordeal over with and move on with our lives, but the condensation is too significant an issue to ignore. Also, the left door sits noticeably higher than the right door (but neither seals properly) and there is yellow foam overflowing from some of the prominently visible joints that is too hardened to be removable and makes this look like a cheap, hastily thrown together refrigerator. We called Home Depot and they came out and checked that it was level and said the only thing left to try is putting petroleum jelly on the door seals. It didn’t help at all. Now we are waiting to hear back from Whirlpool. If you buy a brand new $$$ item and it is defective right from the start, you should be able to return or exchange it, not be stuck haggling with the manufacturer about warranty.
Bought new one, planned for holiday only to have a broken fridge delivered, lost all my food and home depot says sorry gotta wait 2 weeks for replacement
Do not buy this! Whirlpool customer service is terrible. Water/ice line froze up after 2 weeks. Warranty repair required to come twice to state it cannot be repaired & Whirlpool is to replace. Still waiting for new one after almost a month. Spent hours on hold trying to find out when we'd get replacement & never got to talk to anyone. Wasted time on calls, waiting twice for warranty repairman. Couldn't offer holiday guests ice unless we bought ice. Couldn't stock up on frozen food as we will have to take everything out for 24 hours when/if we ever get the replacement! Of course, we get no compensation for their lousy quality control or our wasted time. I was going to replace our entire kitchen suite with Whirlpool but not any more!
I have owned this refrigerator for almost 4 years. My wife and I researched the online reviews and at that time could not find a bad review. Our first year was uneventful. Shortly after the warranty was out the ice maker stopped working. A new ice maker was installed. About 21-22 months of use and there was a puddle of water on our hardwood floor under the refrigerator. Seems as there is a rubber grommet on the condensate drain that stops up and causes the water during defrost cycle to migrate on your floor as the plugged drain will be covered with ice from previous cycles of defrost and then refrigeration. Whirlpool you can build a better product!
this refrigerator is the worst thing i have ever bought in my life it is less than nine months old and has been serviced three times for the same thing. it keeps freezing up in the coils so the middle drawer will not close all the way letting all the cool air out and not being able to get ice because of this. i would not by this refrigerator.
I bought one in July of this year . I have had a repairman here twice about the ice maker not making enough ice ( it will only make 18cubes in a twelve hour period). I was told it would make a lot more than that. I always have to keep bagged ice in the freezer . The sleeves inside are awkward, the only way to put anything tall in the door is to remove one of the shelves. Also the shelf on the side with the ice maker is so small you might can get a can of soda in it.. I don't recommend the to ANYONE!!!
Water dispenser has leaked twice. First repair took two weeks and as many visits because the parts needed apparently weren't in stock. Water dispenser is leaking again. Ridiculous. Not sure if this unit is a lemon or the first repair was not performed properly. In any event, at this point I regret not purchasing a Samsung.
