The 33'' bottom freezer refrigerator by Whirlpool is great for those that hace wide items and need the extra storage space. This refrigerator is energy star efficient and comes with accuchill technology that adapts to internal temperature measurements.
This refrigerator is more than I expected. Lots of freezer & refrigerator space and having the freezer on the bottom is easier on one's back. One complaint, the location of the screws to raise the wheels for moving the refrigerator. Very inconvenient and difficult to rotate. So far a good replacement for my 25 year old Kenmore. Its really only one cubic foot bigger but it seems like it has a lot more space in the refrigerator portion. Its only been a week but its doing its job and keeping the food cold. I didn't hook up the ice maker, but I could see where that would be a slight inconvenience, since it makes the ice on the shelf that does not slide out when you open the freezer drawer. So you would have to pull the shelf out also to grab a few cubes. Other then what could be a slight inconvenience in the summer, it fits great in the space and looks nice. We have had this refrigerator for about a month now. I had to have a bottom freezer/refrigerator because of back problems bending over all the time looking for food in the back and veggies drawer. I now realize how little time we go into the freezer but always the refrigerator...This whirlpool presents everything eye level..so nice. It is very quiet and the price was awesome. Lights are very bright. I think they are led or something..I honestly can say I can't find any mild complaints on this purchase...I always buy an extended warranty on any huge appliance I buy and would recommend that on a washer/dryer stove or refrigerator. We have a small kitchen, but needed at least 21 cu ft of space and this machine has the most and best reviews. Our purchase was at Lowes because of the month long (Nov) black Friday sale which got us a sale price of $899 coupled with a 10% discount and 18 month free financing (with opening a Lowes credit account) which means we only paid $809 + tax which makes for a very low monthly payment. We found that the factory settings of 4 were insufficient and had to raise them to 5 for the fridge & freezer which is perfect.
I only had the chance to use this refrigerator for a few weeks just before I sold my house. I purchased this to replace another brand that's motherboard died just from unplugging it. I am not particularly thrilled with the exterior, I could never get the delivery men's fingerprints off of the stainless finish. I tried everything except specific stainless cleaner that I kept forgetting to buy. But I never needed a special cleaner for my other stainless appliances. Also, while it is wonderful to have the option to set the handle on either side of the refrigerator door, the plastic buttons on the fascia that hide the handle installation holes sort of interfere with the look. Aside from that, WOW this fridge has tons of room. Huge door shelves and adjustable interior shelves. The freezer has plenty of room as well and easy access trays. The ice maker was a cinch to hook up and makes perfect sized cubes. It does make a little noise when it runs but, overall, it has a nice quality 'feel' to it. Easy to clean and nicely designed. I plan on switching over to Whirlpool when I do the kitchen update in my new home, as well.
I love it. Had the side by side and still do. I want the freezer on the bottom, easier to see what have. No more throwing food away because of freezer burn. With the side by side you tend to forget what you put on the bottom half and end up forgetting what's there. Frig on top you see what you have at a glance, no bending over and looking to see what's pushed to the back on the bottom. I highly recommend this frig. Water and ice despencers are a pain, change the filter, the water line can freeze [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The refrigerator I had was working fine, but was almost 30 years old, so I decided to replace it. Although I wanted a bottom freezer, I knew it would probably hold less, and take some getting used to. The freezer does hold less, but it has been easy to adapt to. I do very much like having the refrigerator on top, and it is so bright and easy to see everything in. I don't know why there have been comments from some that it is noisy, as I haven't noticed that (but maybe having had a 30 year old predecessor made me used to noise). I am happy that I made this change, and got a super sweet deal on it, as well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought our new Whirlpool in December after having our kitchen remodeled. Shopped at several places, compared prices, etc. and decided to go with one that had a bottom freezer. As I loaded it, I was disappointed that it held a hospital basin of stuff less than my previous top freezer. But as we began using it, the feature I appreciated most was the convenience of getting ice from the freezer drawer in the bottom. We are all short so all four of us appreciated that feature. It was soon apparent also that things stayed organized in the freezer much better than before. Having the refrigerator on top soon proved to be much better at identifying where items were. The door space is fantastic too. The milk and juice in the door is really convenient and there's plenty of space for other tall items on one of the shelves. We are very pleased with our purchase. I purchased this refrigerator to replace a very similar unit which was failing after 17 years. There are several features about this one that compare favorably to the other: The freezer is far more useful as it utilizes a divided pull-out drawer as well as a shelf that also pulls out, which allows significant storage, yet it's easy to see and get to everything. The door in the refrigerator section stores a lot on the adjustable shelves and that frees up shelf space. Even though it's the same size of my old one, it seems to have much more room. I also like the smooth doors (the old ones were textured like the cabinet) which match my stove and easier to clean. I am impressed by how quiet it is as well, both when running and during defrost (it does not make all the popping and gurgling noises the old one did). Finally, the delivery guys showed up when promised and got it inside and the old one hauled away quickly and competently. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and service. I've only had it a month so can't comment on longevity.
Ample storage, smart shelf design with flexibility, superior lighting, and accurate digital temp controls. Great product that I've extremely happy with.
I love the new lighting inside. Ice maker not a noisy as other reviews I had read. Fit perfectly in the "fridge spot" in my kitchen.
We got this fridge right after the New Year, for SUCH a steal of a price. Absolutely love it, bigger than our old fridge, looks great with the stainless, magnets work on it. You do see fingerprints, but if you just use the handles to open and close it you won't really get finger prints on it. The sides are grey, not stainless, but that doesn't bother me at all. there are also I think four plastic rivets on the front, but also doesn't bother me. for the price, you can't beat it! we did not hook up the ice machine so I can't speak to how that works. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have two improvements to complain about . #1 the plastic screws for blanking the holes if you were changing handle to other side one broke off had to glue in Good thing I didn't have to change door swing . Don't know how they would have drilled out broken screw . Should be stainless. #2 had issues with ref. sliding out and in when opening, closing lower freezer door . To fix had to screw down front pads . of course that lifts front now out of level with door swinging open . Would be better with lockable wheels or some sort of wheel chocks. Having the fridge on top means that I can see everything in there clearly and I don't overlook old stuff that needs to be thrown out. It's easier to find what you're looking for, and easier to clean. My only (small, very small) complaint is that the door has a lot of suction and the whole fridge glides very easily. As a result, I need to brace it with my knee to open the door or else I will pull the whole unit forward. It's very quiet, except when it has been pulled out of position- then it's got a little rumbling sound on startup. I just push it back to a more even place on my tiles and the noise stops. I figure the strong door suction is worth it as it probably keeps the cost down. I love the flexibility of the shelves. As you can see in the photo, I moved them to accommodate my large iced tea dispenser. And seeing all those veggies in the drawers makes me go yum.
I was looking for this refrigerator which had been advertised on sale. This style was not on the floor but a sales associate verified it was in the warehouse. After it was installed I was very happy with it. Based on how my kitchen is set up I didn't want the pantry style. I also selected a bottom freezer because reviews indicated they were quiet. This refrigerator is very quiet, I like the large freezer and the lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer really does a great job lighting up all the items on/in the shelves. I am very pleased with my purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have had this refrigerator for a few months now and really love it. It has lots of room, keeps things nice and cold and fresh and runs quiet. The only time we noticed noise was when the icemaker (which is not connected) was accidentally turned on...We really like the design of the freezer on the bottom where the top shelf also pulls out. It holds a lot of food and is very user friendly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We had to leave our last one at our old house when we moved so I immediately bought another one just like it for our new home! I had issues with the first one, just that it was so hard to keep clean due to the stainless steel. I learned a trick though for the 2nd one, use turtle wax paste on it, buff it real good then repeat every few months....no fingerprints!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I replaced a conventional refrigerator with this bottom-freezer model. It is MUCH more convenient to use. No more bumping my head on the freezer unit while reaching a top shelf in the refrigerator! It is well-designed and works well. The temperatures for both sections stay on the recommended setting, according to my thermometers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
after having the French door models with the ice and water dispenser I returned to basics with this appliance and am very pleased. it has plenty of room on the door for all kinds of containers. the French door models doors were all taken up with dispenser equipment leaving no room for storage [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Took a little getting use to the bottom freezer, but now we love it. My new Refrigerator runs so quite and seems to be very efficient. And, got a great deal at my local Home depot Store. My Delivery guy's were first rate, friendly and very fast it getting everything hooked up and in place. My delivery was on-time and went very well.
Very large interior with adjustable shelves that are easy to move around to suit my needs. Love the freezer on the bottom and it has ample room along with the automatic ice maker, very quiet.
I am thrilled with my new refrigerator. Having the freezer on the bottom is the way to go. This means that the refrigerator on top is large and so easy for a senior citizen to work with. Would recommend this refrigerator to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We absolutely love this refrigerator! Especially like the adjustable shelves, great lighting, and easy access and view of what is inside. We have had this for a week and have no issues. Only piece missing would be ice cube trays and butter dish. Using my trays from old refrigerator
We had been looking for a new refrigerator for many months. The problem we always encountered was the size--we have an older home and needed a refrigerator that would fit into the space we had. All of them were either too wide or too tall or both...until we found this one. We measured it, went home and measured our space and IT WOULD FIT!!! We went back the next day and bought it. We have been very happy with our purchase of this refrigerator--it compliments our decor, is efficient and I especially love how bright and handy the interior is. We were hoping that we would like the bottom freezer and we love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
A great item and a must have. Keep every thing fresh and cool or frozen. Even keep my rum just right, of course I only have that for snake bites, lol. It is so quite compare to my old refrigerator, put the old one in the basement and I still can hear it running up stairs. I read the reviews and they seem to be the best out there and I do believe they were right. I too give it a five star rating. Nice to have the extra storage room as deer season is coming up next month, so I am trying not to buy to much meat till then.
It's big enough to fit 3D and multiple tier cakes, without adjusting selves. We are a family of 5 and our old fridge was small but not that much. I like the led lights, the streamline of the shelves, the drawers in the freezer and well, it keeps the food cold. The door is super sealed, so you would have to pull hard but I see that as a plus. Freezer is a little small but I have a deep freezer and the fridge portion is what I cared about. The one thing I don't like about this fridge is that the produce drawers slides out really fast. If you are careful, the whole drawer will be off its track. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love whirlpool appliances. Love the freezer at the bottom and black color is beautiful. Runs quietly and ice maker is good. Great sale price and would highly recommend
Only have the refrigerator 2 weeks, but really like it a lot. Lots of space for 2 people, and very bright inside. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Refrigerator was install a month ago. So far, everything is great! Love the convenience of the bottom freezer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The freezer on the bottom makes it so easy for the grandkids to help themselves to their frozen treats. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love this refrigerator! Has been working great so far! Just an FYI - the sides are not stainless, but that didn't matter for me/my kitchen.
I really like the amount of space and the performance of this refrigerator. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love the large shelves and adjustability! An excuse to buy more food! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We are really enjoying our new fridge. My great features LED lighting lots of space three different storage areas for fruits veges and meats. The interior is very flexible. For the first time ever i have all my drinks in the door leaving lots of space in the main fridge for other food items! Love the stainless look though only the front doors are stainless. Freezer is excellent tons of room makes ice quickly! Great purchase! Stove and microwave next and my kitchen will be complete!
Replacement for my old "beer" fridge. Lots of space! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Flexibility of shelving and drawers is great. Ice maker very efficient. Runs quiet as well.
I had a fridge that was working just fine but...I would have to sit in a chair to see what was on the bottom shelf. Old age and bifocals take a tole on being able to see items that far down. So I ordered this fridge and I am not disappointed! Not only is it a lot quieter than the old model I had but now I can see everything in it. I am so very glad that I purchased this fridge - it is absolutely wonderful! It keeps temp in both the freezer and the cooler areas. Another point is that it looks really stunning...it's seems to be well manufactured and very stable. Thank you Whirlpool! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Very happy with the quick and professional delivery of home depot. I was a little surprised that upon arriving to deliver the refrigerator, the installers said that they could not complete the installation I had paid extra for because there was no water line available right at the refrigerator. There was one inside a hollow cabinet but drilling a hole into that cabinet was not something they do- it would have been nice to know installation requirements before I ordered that service. They also said the additional water line I was offered to buy at home depot was already included with the fridge. So they said I would receive an automatic refund for this additional $30 I paid. I never received it so had to call and speak to several departments before this was finally processed a few weeks later. Otherwise happy with the product and service. Thanks!
Great space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
we wanted a refrigerator with a slide out bottom freezer in a limited space. this is the best one we could find that fit that bill. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I am very happy with it but I don't like the finish on the front since it leave marks from daily use that are hard to clean off. My last stainless steel front one never had that problem but then it was real stainless steel not bushed finished. The motor is quite but at time there is a very loud noise for 5 to 1o seconds and not sure if I should have someone out to look at it. It is smaller than the one we replaced but it seems to have more room if that makes any sense. I am happy with the fact that it is made in the USA since we need to support our country so thank you for that. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Refrigerator is as specs specify. For a single door refrigerator, it is quite roomy inside both upper and lower freezer. Downside is no tray on bottom of pull out freezer, just wired bottom, so ice particles can fall through. The large size of the upper interior makes up for this small disadvantage. We ordered white, and it is a nice gloss finish. Good seal, nice looking. Our ice maker did not work when installed, but Whirlpool finally made good on that after a few calls. All in all, a good choice for a smaller space.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this unit. So far it has met my expectations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love the bottom freezer design. Great storage in fridge section.Freezer is small which we were aware of. Ice maker is pre installed. No inline water filter for ice maker.Good value for features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We needed a new frig and one which would save all the bending to retrieve stuff from bottom shelves especially toward the back. The ice maker feature plainly frees me from watch dogging the ice trays & tub to keep from running out. Great lighting in frig & freezer makes it easier to find stuff and the near seamless interior is easier to keep clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is a fantastic fridge with a ton of space inside. However, the fridge door does not have a stopping point - you have to hold it open in order for it to not hit the cabinets/counters/etc.
steinless steel finish is not fingerprint resistant and its hard to keep doors surfaces clean. I am pleased with everything else.
Have had unit for one month-- I like the refrigerator -It has about 4-cubic feet more space than the one it is replacing, but mostly in the fridge, not the freezer. First experience with a bottom freezer, and NOT happy with it or the whole concept. At 74, it can be a bear finding stuff in it, and have added trays to make "search and acquire" easier -I personally liked having the freezer at eye level, and the vegetables at the bottom in their clear bins. The fridge section is very functional and spacious, with clear solid glass shelves and the door holds a LOT of STUFF! -including gallon size liquid containers. Unlike the thinner low capacity door we had before, the door weight i much heavier and the momentum keeps it moving open if you don't conscientiously slow it and STOP it! This model cannot be purchased without the ice maker -something we did not want and weren't plumbed for. The ice maker is in the upper back of the freezer compartment and actually uses up a good bit of storage area. Using a couple of on-line videos for reference, the ice-maker was relatively simple to remove, but as a caution I reinstalled the three mounting screws snugly, closed off the non-functioning drip tube with a finger-cot and tape, and white duct-taped over the cable connector. No issues doing it -just pay attention to the videos concerning door removal and shelf/basket track function. The vegetable bins have a tendency to come out while reaching into the rear. So, like opening the door it is an item one will eventually train ones self to work with!! I like the unit -it does a very good job of keeping and maintaining temperature in both the fridge and the freezer -using a wireless AcuRite refrigerator/freezer temp monitor to check it (live in a area of frequent power outages). HAVE NOT had an issue with noise -as noted in several other reviews- maybe not using (and removing) the ice maker helped. ANYWAY! -we're pleased.
I bought this refrigerator/freezer because I wanted a bottom freezer that would accommodate my needs and this does very nicely. My only complaint is that sometimes when I don't place items on the refrigerator door in the right place, I get a vibrating noise when the motor is on. Otherwise it is perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The refrigerator is pretty sharp looking and so far I'm a fan of the bottom freezer. The top door can flip making it easier to fit into odd spaces which was nice. The freezer "drawers" are square wire which in my opinion is not ideal, but I haven't had any issues with them yet other than space being slightly smaller than my last setup. The ice maker will startle you when it fills as the water pressure comes in like a fire hose, but it makes a good amount of ice. The cooler compressor runs pretty quiet after initial startup, but I haven't had it for longer enough to see an energy difference. The lighting in the fridge portion is top notch.
We bought this for our northern Michigan lake house because it fit perfectly into the space that we had. We like the freezer on the bottom because it's not used that much up there. The only thing that kept me from rating this fridge a 5 is the fact the the freezer is a basically flimsy basket that I beIieve would not hold up in a daily use residential environment. Other than that we really like it. It looks great in stainless steel. The large fridge up top is great. Big wide shelves. Outstanding lighting and the thing is really quiet. Overall, happy with the purchase [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The product itself is fine despite not having a butter/egg holder on the door. I also find the shelves are a bit awkward to find the right spacing between them but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The delivery, however, was terrible and I have been left trying to navigate a series of subcontractors. The refrigerator was damaged as was my property. Whirlpool has stood behind the product and has been great to deal with. Home Depot has been unresponsive.
Overall the refrigerator is beautiful, the plastic bins inside are somewhat cheap, lightweight though. My experience with buying online and the delivery was awful. The guys came, unloaded the fridge in the driveway to change the door to open from the right which was ok, upon bringing it in the house they told me to take the plastic coating off the fridge in 1/2 an hour because it was wet. OK I opened the fridge 1/2 hour later the shelving inside was still all taped up I had to do that myself to set it up. One of the vegetable trays was all broken, took me an hour to finally get thru to Whirlpool, they did send me a new plastic bin. I would never order from Home Depot again. Years ago I bought from Lowes, they brought it in the house and set it all up for me.
I've had the fridge for approx 4 months. Overall it's a good purchase and with a few minor fixes this could be a great fridge. I love the set up, including the room in the door. The spill proof shelves are great. However, the produce drawers on the bottom are perhaps the worst I have ever had! They fall out of the tracks on a regular basis and are flimsy. Also, it is the loudest fridge I have ever owned. You definitely know when it is on. I hope Whirlpool addresses these issues. It has potential to be great, however, I would not buy again and would recommend with reservations. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
When I completed the rating the first time we just had all the new appliances put in. It has been a couple of months now using on a daily basis. I was very happy with the salesman and where we bought the appliances but find the refrigerator scratches very easily. Not happy about that. I also said I would never buy stainless because of the marks. I love the look but not crazy about trying to get it looking nice and shiny. The other thing I am not crazy about is in the freezer, (mine is on the bottom) there is a white plastic separator on the top shelf. Don't know why we need it and why it is there. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Makes so much noise that the dog barks thinks there is a intruder !!!
The freezer is netted basket so things keep falling down when I open it
Fridge is as expected, BUT DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT DELIVERY!!! They ruined the laminate in our kitchen.
Largest capacity to fit small space. Replaced a 10 year old GE. I miss a butter keeper space in the door. The crispers are not deep enough or high enough for storage of more than a few items. Crisper drawers are not user friendly, they seem to fall out because the drawer stops don't work well. Would gladly give up depth in the door shelves for depth in the interior shelves and bins being more efficient [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The refrigerator itself is good, but on the first day, it was making a lot of noise like click, click, and buzz. At first, we don't know what is causing the noise, and we called the Whirpool customer service, and described the noise, but they said that is a normal noise, and said if we want to return it,there will be a restocking fee since they said the refrigerator is fine. Well, it turns out, it was the ice maker is default to be on eventhough there is no water pipe connect to it. So, all we did was just use a tape to tape the ice maker trigger so that it's in off position, and that resolves the noise issue. Whirpool customer care was never tried to help to resolve our issue.
I bought this 2 weeks ago... the icemaker spit out ice cubes one time and then stopped. not good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Although this fridge seems spacious, it is not easy to fit a lot of food into it. Something about the configuration makes it hard to see and reach items on the back of the shelf. Even the door storage is not easy to use - no space specifically small enough for butter or spreads. The freezer is even worse for storage. If you do not have to worry about a crowded fridge or freezer, then this fridge will be fine for you. We have had it for about a year and I would love to get a new one. PS it is also bulky looking in my kitchen.
Not a bad fridge, but not great either. Most bothersome is that it is rather loud when running. Apparently Whirlpool isn't real big on sound insulation, as there is absolutely none on this model. Some of the drawers don't slide in and out very smoothly. Pricier competing models have better designs, but you pay for it. I chose this model because I had a rather shallow opening, and this fridge is one of only a handful that wasn't too deep. The competing models from other manufacturers were typically 2-4" deeper.
Need service after 1 day!!!! in home.
I purchased this product on Feb.9 2017. After approximately 5 days, we had to call for service. No one has been out yet to service the product, still waiting. Would not recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I ordered through Home Depot and the fridge came ontime. They installed it and the fridge didn't work. I called the service center for whirpool and they told me the earliest they could come out was Friday (6 days after the install...meaning NO fridge). All of my food went bad and they only offered to reimbursed me $100 for $400 of food spoiled (I had gone shopping right after the install). I had to take off work for the service repair bc they only repair during the week 8-5, NO weekends. I waited and waited and NOTHING. Called the service department again and they told me the guy is overbooked and can't come. There was zero call and whirpool told me it was on the service repair guy to call me and he didn't. They didn't take ownership of anything. So I asked when I could get a new fridge...they said "Saturday!" , another week from the initial instal. So I have been ordering out for 2 weeks since I am unable to keep any food and still only offered $100 reimbursement. It is the WORST customer service I have ever witnessed in my life (and I'm a Comcast customer...).
I highly do not recommend this product from home depot. I purchased at a great price and thought it would be a great gift for my parents. But one day after use the motor broke, and home depot and whirlpool send me from one person to the next and refuse to fix the problem with the fridge or replace it. They sold me a lemon, it says brand new but its really used! Returned by another customer and refurbished. The first day it was great, and now it completely broke down. I wont ever buy any appliances from home depot ever again. The are extremely difficult to deal with and refuse to fix any of the problems with or without it protected! Do not buy this Fridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recently purchased this refrig....the price was excellent and I like Whirlpool products... Promptly delivered and set into place, it's good looking . However, like all bottom freezer refrig's..the freezer is SMALL. The frozen items from my old appliance did not fit into this model's freezer - although both of them were basically the same cubic feet in size.. I had to use a neighbor's freezer for the overflow. The refrigerator is deeper than the old and I have problems reaching the back. I'm only 5' 2". The ice cubes are smaller than I'd like. I don't like kneeling on the floor rumaging the freezer looking for a box of peas. The Home Depot sale was flawless. My beef is with these bottom freezer appliances...Think twice before you purchase one...
