Whirlpool WFW75HEFW Washer Customer Reviews

Good solid washer

I bought this almost 4 mos ago and am very satisfied. Clothes come out exceptionally clean & dry quickly due to high spin speed. It gets a little loud towards the end of the cycle but I just close the laundry room door. I use less detergent than recommended also. I think detergent makers recommend almost double what you need for the job. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Just buy this one!!! We got a top load, HE and it was TERRIBLE. I took it back and bought this front loader, to replace our 14 yr old front loader, and we couldn't be more pleased! If you want one that USES WATER, and actually gets stuff clean without tearing it up, and leaving residue, then buy this! I have heard reports about the circuit board, but 6 months and so far, no problems. If so, it has a warranty that covers it! So, just buy it, and don't worry so much about the rest of the washers out there. This one couldn't be better if I had made it myself!

The washer is great. It was delivered on time and easy to set up. Works great and gets clothes clean. It is very quite and the spin cycle really dries the clothes. Had to give away two buckets of regular laundry soap because this washer only takes high efficiency soap. The only (mechanical) negative is the dial that selects the wash type turns too easy. It needs detents to stay at the setting you select. Just brushing by will accidentally change the wash setting if you are not careful. Otherwise, great washer!!

I was skeptical of HE washing machines, as this was my first, reading how they use minimal amount of water. This Whirlpool unit had more than 3,000 reviews (95% recommended with 4.6 average rating) when I decided to buy it, and considering the high quality Whirlpool reputation. This machine is simple to use and get clothes as clean as they possibly can get. I immediately noticed the clean difference compared to my previous agitator unit. Before using it I leveled the unit according to the users manual. I carefully use an appropriate amount of HE Tide for each load and dry the the door and rubber seal with a towel and keep the door wide open after each use. It is a mechanical machine so it makes normal washing machine sounds, the spin cycle is almost soundless. I am extremely impressed and pleased with this unit. I have had it for one month.

Best Christmas surprise ! Love it!

The almost 20 year old washer was on it's last leg ! Repair after repair. I ordered it and had it delivered to my sister & her family as a Christmas surprise. Her husband had her go to the laundry where she was shocked at the installation of a new washer. She could not believe it . This machine has a very large drum. She says it runs sooo quiet. It cleans beautifully, spins drier than others. It will save energy, time and money on dryer expenses. She LOVES it .

 Very Nice

I had a Bosch front load washer for 8 years. It was rated very high and was expensive. The computer went out of it and it would have cost $500 to replace it. I looked at Whirlpool because of it's size and price. It seems to be doing a lot better at cleaning my clothes. It is very quiet and with the 4.5 cu. ft. size I can wash larger loads and know that the clothes will come out clean. Another plus for this washer is that you don't have to push on the buttons. I barely hold my finger on the buttons and they respond. I am very happy with my new Whirlpool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Great so far

I've had for 2 weeks. Replaced an aging LG washer that was near death. Bought the Whirlpool Washer to match my current Whirlpool dryer. So far so good. I like the size. I can wash an overflowing laundry basket and have room to spare. Central knob and and pushbuttons are all very user friendly. I thought the price was very reasonable. Home Depot installers did a nice job with delivery and hookup. I have no complaints. Hopefully, it lasts many years...

This washer is doing great! It is my learning curve, coming from a top loader washer, that needs to progress. The clothes come out as clean without using all the water and detergent as before. I did install a water softener to hopefully extend its life. Maybe get 20 years or more use from this Whirlpool as well!

So far we like it. I read reviews that said it is noisy but we don''t think it is. Our last washer was so top of the line and had so many features that we never thought about using. It cost a small fortune and only lasted 8 years..rusted out at the bottom and ruined many clothes in it path.

This washer is great, super quiet, not sure what some of the other reviewers are complaining about. My pump makes a normal sound for about 10 seconds then the machine is almost silent . Will be getting the dryer to match

 Great machine

We purchased this washer 2 weeks ago. We had finally had enough of our front load frigidaire. After replacing the pump every year after purchase and the gasket and the mother board we finally had enough. For the price and the different brand name (same as our dryer) we went for this unit and I'm glad we did. Much more room than I anticipated. I can fit 2 comforters and 2 blankets no problem. Feels sturdy compared to old unit and super easy to use. I would highly recommend this machine to anybody interested in a front load easy to use sturdy wash machine.  Just as described. Works well. Quiet enough that it is barely heard from another room. Easy to use.

 Sturdy and efficient

Very happy with this Whirlpool, and I prefer front-loading washers. It washes very well and has nice features, including delay start. I like that the door will stay open a couple of inches to let the drum dry out between loads, which prevents odors (my old Samsung required me to stuff a washcloth by the hinge to keep the door ajar). Minor gripes: I can't turn off the reminder chimes, and there is no soak cycle. For the latter I just pause the machine and allow the detergent to loosen stains before resuming, which is great for cold water washes.

I bought the washer and stand at the same time because it would arrive hooked together by the pros. The last washer (not a Whirlpool) we bought the washer and stand separately and we had to screw the washer into the stand. That machine got to where it started shaking the house and had so much noise we had to turn up the TV! This Whirlpool machine is so quiet and doesn't vibrate the house floors. We can't hear a thing and just love that! Also love that the machine was Made in America.

Have not had it that long yet but really works well. Amazing space for lots of clothes. And clothes very dry when done so drying doesn't take long. Got the extended warranty because my last front loader began to leak and the shock absorbers broke. Not planning for that to happen on this new one but just want to be sure. Leaving the door open after wash to prevent molding even though that was really not a problem on my last one. I live in a damp place now so I just want to be proactive. A very heavy machine. I saw the concrete weight inside. Have a professional move it if you have stairs.

 Great washer!

The capacity of this washer is fantastic for my family of 4.5. It's a little louder than I expected, but not by much. The ease and efficiency of this washer far supersedes the sound 🙂 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is one nice machine. Uncomplicated controls. Large capacity (yesterday I washed a queen-sized comforter ... room to spare). As quiet a machine as I have ever owned. Price was nicely discounted. High efficiency, so it uses minimal liquid detergent. Clothes come out nearly dry. If you are interested in a front-loader, look no further.

Washer is super loud during many parts of the cycle but if you have it in a basement or a separate room of the home you will be fine - good value for the price. My only other concern is the pull out detergent dispenser seems very flimsy - concerning for a part that will be used so frequently. No problems with it breaking so far, but this would be one simple improvement Whirlpool could make to ease their customers' mind with regard to product quality.

 Great quality for the price!

I bought this a month ago and have really liked it. I like how you can do very large loads with minimal detergent and still get clean clothes. Normal loads take less than an hour which is nice. I also like how it senses how big your load is so you don't have to guess. It spins the clothes fairly dry so the amount of time to dry is decreased which is a money saver! My only complaints are that although it can be very quiet, there are times when the machine is very loud but definitely not a deal breaker and also if you do too small of a load, the moisture doesn't get spun out compared to a larger load. Again, not a deal breaker. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 This machine meets our needs

My former washer was a 12 year old Whirlpool Duet washer. My new Whirlpool 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer with Precision Dispense has a longer "normal" wash cycle than my previous Duet washer. I absolutely hate the sensitivity of the on/off/start buttons that are audible when even brushed against unintentionally; the sound is totally annoying. I intentionally didn't purchase a Duet set because the steam/sanitize feature is irrelevant to me. When draining water, the hum/buzz of the pump is very loud. But the spin cycles are much quieter than my older Duet washer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Have had the washer a week and it seems to do what it is supposed to. My biggest complaints involve a washer that cost this much and not coming with the hot and cold water hoses. Really Whirlpool? This much money and you can't include the hoses? I've bought cheaper washers and they came with them. My second complaint is the $40 stacking kit that Whirlpool sells you. It is just 4 of the same plastic legs that come with the dryer but they have rubber on them and 2 little metal brackets. There is no way this should cost $40. Maybe $10 or how about include it with the set? If I would have know that's all it was then I would have spent $4 and gotten 2 metal connectors from the hardware isle and saved myself some money.

 Nice washer with good features

I've had this washer for a couple of weeks now and it replaced another front loading washer that unfortunately died on me. This washer has the biggest capacity of any washer I've ever owned. It seems to do a good job on cleaning the clothes. It is also a bit noisier than I was expecting, but not horribly loud. The wash cycles do take much longer than my old washer. The chiming to signal the end of wash is kind of fun. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Thank God I got rid of my GE

Due to space limitations I made do with washer/dryer combos for years. Three replacements and 5 transmissions later I said enough is enough and went with a full size stackable washer and dryer. Yes the front load can be a bit of a pain when it comes to reaching for that sock way in the back of the washer but it's worth it with the lack of aggravation I suffered with my GE appliance constantly breaking down and having to lug baskets to the laundromat. The touch pads can be a bit sensitive and you need to make sure if using packets that they are put in back of the wash but a very minor inconvenience. Both washer and dryer work extremely well and do a good job [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Its a washing machine

I gave it four stars because we've had it for only a month and so far it works great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Washes great.

I do love the way my clothes come out clean. My old washer was about 15 years old. Front load also, so I really like the front load and the way the clothes are treated. The spin is so good on this one that I have to check the whole barrel to make sure I get all the clothes. Am a bit concerned about the digital components. Hoping they hold up as long as the washer does. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 It gets the job done.

A little noisier than I'm used to, but cycles don't take too long. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Great Washer

I bought this washer about a month ago with the dryer to match. It is a great washer and is simple to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Excellent cleaning job

We bought this washer 3 months ago and have been very happy with it. It cleans the clothes better than any washer I've ever used. I love the big drum, because it's big enough to wash bulky bed comforters or sleeping bags. The display is simple, and easy to understand. My only 2 (minor) complaints are that small items, such as socks, occasionally get stuck between the clear window and the seal. Also, a couple times it seemed as though the cycle does not completely finish but the washer turns off (the items in the washer are still sudsy and/or water logged). That may have been due to one of my kids bumping or pushing buttons, though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Works great

Basic washer- works great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Sounds like a plane

I've had this for close to 5 months and called the repair man 2 times so far. First was because of how loud it was which the repair man said was normal. Second was because the control panel kept turning off immediately after coming on. That was until I called the repair man and it magically fixed itself. Fancy how it always works like that. He came out and looked at it and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm just waiting for something else to happen which will probably be right after the warranty ends.  Product is good, customer support is poor

Product was purchased to replace a GE washer that failed due to bearing failure. (GE refused to acknowledge the know defect). So far the Whirlpool was has met expectations. Quick & efficient was cycle, relatively quiet, and a seemingly balanced spin cycle. Needed to contact customer support for a small issue regarding the end-of-cycle and button sounds. The agent was Not knowledgeable and wanted to set up a service call. More research and a 2nd call revealed that a service call would have been a waste of time, and all I needed to do was unplug for 2 minutes to reset the washer. Product - Good. Service - Needs improvement. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Loud machine

We've been operating this machine for a month. It is very loud when the machine is draining (not when it is spinning out). Our laundry room is in the basement and we can hear it upstairs, clear as day. It sounds like something is definitely wrong with the pump. Yes, we called and had a tech look at the machine. They said nothing was wrong with it...I've NEVER encountered a machine that sounds like this, so I hope they're right. The machine cleans well and makes us laugh with its musical buttons, but the unexpected loudness of the drain cycle makes me wish I'd chosen a different machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Like it BUT

I've had this machine 3 weeks. I like it a lot so far and would have given it at least 4 stars except for one thing that I will get to in a moment. First of all, it took some getting use the the noise. It's definitely quite a bit louder than the last machine I had... but that is relatively easy to deal with by closing the door to the laundry room. I like that it is simple to use and has a large capacity (the reasons I bought it). But here is the thing: the detergent dispenser drawer does not stay in with the tab that is suppose to keep it intact. From the beginning, the drawer falls out if I'm not hanging on tightly to the drawer handle when I open it, it hits the tile floor, and the parts all come apart from the impact. After putting it back together and having it happen several times, I called Whirlpool. They sent me another part to the drawer with the exact same tab on it.... and exactly the same thing happens. Now they want me to have a technician come to the house.... as we all know that is a hassle. Honestly, it's easier to put some duck tape on the tab to make it taller so it stays put, rather than take a day of work to block out the time to suit the technicians "window" of arrival. Essentially, I bought a nice, expensive washer and now have to choose between losing a day of work or to use duct tape on it to make it function correctly. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment, (that was this morning) and after scheduling the day, by phone, they hooked me up to a recording that explains all the ways I can pay for the technicians visit............ (seriously? NOT). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Good for typical laundry, but...

There aren't many bells and whistles on this washing machine, but I never use them anyway. It works very well for general laundry. I'm disappointed that when I washed two bathroom rugs recently (one was 3 x 5' and the other was 2' x 2'), the spin cycle didn't work as the rugs were soaking wet at the end of the Normal cycle. I even put the spin only cycle on twice and that still didn't get rid of any of the water. I had to put the rugs in my bathtub and squeeze as much water as I could by hand. It took about 4 hours to dry them in the dryer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I would recommend the product to others, but I wouldn't recommend Home Depot for install. We had to call them back two times to get it hooked up and it never got done. They kept telling me it wouldn't fit in the water pan, so we got a bigger pan and it still wouldn't fit. So unfortunately we had to call a plumber and the plumber fit it in the original pan like it should have. Don't count on Home Depot to install it.

We are disappointed at the noise level of this washer. It is very noisy, a sheet metal sound, which does not appear to be sound-insulated very well. We previously owned a Whirlpool Duet washer which had nowhere near the noise. Also, we were told by the salesperson that the base for our old Duet washer would work for the new washer, which it didn't. The washer cleans a large load extremely well.

 Good enough

I recommend this machine knowing that top loaders with their small impellers are a joke. And the Chinese(not Korean) LG have had the impellers snap off...common issue, happened to me. We all know tumbling clothes is better than any impeller for cleaning. Had this for approx. 2 months now. The basic control knob makes it simple. BUT BE AWARE of these latest water conservation bla bla machines , this machine uses just enough water to get your clothes "wet" during the washing. You should put NO MORE than 4 table spoons of wisk or tide liquid detergent in, #1 on must measuring caps. The rinse cycle is good enough amount H2O, but recommend "extra rinse ON". For those out there saying my laundry smells fresh or wonderful. Guess what ... you likely put too much detergent in, you are smelling soap ! If you have truly "BO" smelling items, like towels, athletic wear or muddy kids clothes, use the Drain&Spin "Heavy" with the "Extra Rinse ON " with tide/wisk. This puts good amount of water in and run this again w/o soap to rinse clothes, total time 1 hour. Noises are not loud. MY machine is in an insulated room(walls ceiling) in the basement. And cannot be heard upstairs 🙂 Sounds are "normal"...Mostly the drain pump makes some noise...but it's not loud, just a mild moaning at times. I sit next to this room while I work from home. Not bothersome at all. If you have machine in room with "thin walls" you might hear it at times. Reliability of the new Whirlpools unknown to me. Hope this is as reliable as my 19 yr. old fridge and clothes dryer from them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The washer is VERY loud. I am not impressed. Would not buy again.

 disappointed

for a medium load of wash on the Normal Cycle the machine stops and show E3 and F1 alarm. must wait to reset and take out some of he wet wash and start over. for more than two towels, for instance, the Heavy Load cycle is necessary, but that that's more than an hour of washing, which is unnecessary. the liquid bleach reservoir has never emptied since the first time i filled it. the softener reservoir only empties occasionally, regardless of the cycle i'm using. the on/off switch is too sensitive. when clothing brushes by it is activated. i'm constantly turning it off. much louder than my maytag [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Washer is really loud!!

I purchased this through Home Depot and when I went to wash a load for the first time it was unexpectedly loud!!! I thought it was defective so I had whirlpool come out (over a week later) and they said that this is the way this model sounds. If you go with whirlpool beware of their customer service. Another note to add. Many times socks would get stuck between the door and where the washer spins because it has a rubbery part. Therefore socks would have to get rewashed.

 Spin cycle is not great!

I had high hopes for this washer after reviewing the other washers in this price point. I am disappointed in the spin cycle. If I'm doing a load of darks with 3 or more pairs of jeans I have to run an extra spin cycle. Same goes with a load of towels. My old 10 year old Whirlpool did a better job washing and spinning the clothes. I bought a new washer because we need a larger washer. Not in love with this washer. One more thing, this washer is so loud! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Well, the washer works, however, there is a major issue with mold in the system. Apparently it doesn't drain properly, so when washing (even if you're running the clean cycle monthly with the afresh tabs) will smell like sewage when the washer drains. In the detergent drawer, we have noticed mold both on the drawer itself AND when you remove it, a ton in the back. Not what I had in mind. There was a recall on this series of washers, but my serial number wasn't included, wonderful.

 So Noisy!

Have had this unit for a couple months now and the noise is horrendous. When extracting, it sounds like a jet airplane turbine spooling up. We can hear it throughout the entire house. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 water conservation too far- ugh

After 2 bad top loaders ithought and You hope this is like a commercial front loader. It's not, uses very lttle water. With a full load, Only cycles with enough water to clean truly dirty and stinky clothes. Rinse&Spin with extra rinse and soap, and repeat w/o soap and the Quick wash. Others are useless....drum roates with dry clothes most of the time....then after 30 minutes they are barely wet. Then rinse is only 1 minute with enough water. So you have soap smelling clothes. Extra rinse required. Meaning 3 tables spoons of detergent is more than enough. Engineers have made a possibly great machine barely usable. Only good -This one, It's fairly quiet.... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Looks good but it leaks and I cant get it fixed on Sat.

I bought this model because I needed them in a small area. With them stacted they would give us the room we needed. The washer looks good but leaks form the vent to tub area oring.Whirlpool stated that we can only get service from 8AM to 4PM monday through friday only. With no exceptions. That means we have to take off work to get this repaired. Had I known that I would not have purchased them. This is a brand new machine. Very disappointed with my purchase. I will not buy any more Whirlpool products. I will not recommend these products to any one. If this survey had a rating of 0 I would give it that. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Wish I didn't buy this!

I've had this washer for two years. Yes, just as others have said, socks and small items get stuck in the door area where there is a large rubber deal. That's not my problem with this washer. After the warranty, of course, the washer out of the blue gives me an F9 and E1 error. The wets clothes were locked in the machine. I didn't buy the extended warranty, which I guess in retrospect I should have. But I didn't expect it to go this fast! I had to hire someone to come fix it. $300 later it was back running, only to do the same thing six months later! I'm ready to throw it out at this point! One more service call costs almost as much as I paid! I won't buy whirlpool again.

I chose the front loader whirlpool washer machine because the efficiency on water usage and the brand reputation 5 years ago. I already had two repair calls on this machine. The first one was for the rubber seal of the door it could be cut with any small metal left in the pockets of the clothes like hair pins. The second time was that the machine after 5 years tumbles excessively and moves around blocking one time the door of the laundry room. Fortunately We manage to move the machine throw slight opening of the door otherwise we should have broken the window to get in. The best advise from the last technician was to buy a pad or supports to place the machine legs on it. We installed the supports and still moves around. The technician diagnosed the chocks of the drum wore out and we have to change them. The cost of the repair will be the cost of a top loading machine.

The very first load I washed contained baby clothing. The pieces of small clothing ie socks, bib, washcloth, became stuck under bottom edge of window and would not tumble for a long period of time. Then finally drug in. Later socks had became trapped in the bottom of rubber seal of door, the part where there are drain holes. Thus, blocking drainage of water at seal and not allowing trapped clothing to be washed or spun dry. They were SOPPING wet. I fear I have bought a piece of junk. $678 down the drain by the time I paid taxes, bought hose, and paid for pick up of old machine. I had noticed that every washer I looked into had a NO RETURN policy. Now I know why. They sell junk and you're stuck with it. Makes one wish for a door to door salesman that demonstrates products. At least you could decide if the products flaws are ones you can live with. The rest of the laundry appeared fine. But I have 7 in my family and that means a lot of socks and other small articles will always be a problem. Will have to see if lack of drainage in the seal will be even a bigger one.

If you own pets, don't buy this washer!!!

I bought this machine a month ago and bought the extended warranty with it. Last week I had to have service because it wasnt draining and the door lock wouldnt release. The service tecnician informed me that the filter was clogged with oet hair and this is not civered under the warranty because the washer was not being used as intended. Both he and whirlpool customer service confirmed that I cannot clean the filter without voiding the warranty because the geniuses made this washer with an inaccessible internal filter. They suggested that i make sure my laundry is clean of any hair befire I wash it. Very helpful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a disposable washer that is not designed to be maintained or cleaned. Parts are expensive. About every six months I have to clean kid socks and hair out of the pump inlet screen. To do that I have to remove the top of the washer, remove the soap dispenser, remove the control panel, remove the door lock, remove the spring that holds the boot to the door (which is aggravating to reinstall as it slips off under tension) and remove the front panel. Next the screen is screwed in sideways under the center of the washer. Since it cant drain you have to manually remove the water with a shallow pan which takes about 25 trips as the drain is almost resting on the bottom panel. You have to be a contortionist to remove the right angle screw cap. Once the filth is cleaned out then comes the hard part tot put it together. A simple small door at the front would have eliminated all this. Clearly this washer is designed to be used for only a couple of years and thrown away, an environmental travesty!

 Junk

Flooded my home for the second time , only 13 months old and had the entire drum replaced at 11 months. Single person. Not excessively using machine nor washing comforters or rugs or bricks or any such nonsense. Drum needs to be replaced again. If your thing is cleaning up flooding and waiting for repairs, then maybe you'll enjoy this thing. If you are wanting a clothes washer, to wash your clothes in, I suggest you keep looking.

Bought brand new and received. 10 days after receiving get the error code f3 e1. Now waiting for the maintenance guy to come and take a look. f3 e1 is equivalent to the black screen of death on a computer. Unable to unlock door to get wet clothes out... Have been sitting in there for days. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
