Overall, customers report that they are able to get a hold of Septic Maxx easily. Unfortunately, some customers and prior customers have described getting harrassed on the phone for months. Additionally, there are others that describe issues with cancelling the service. They report responsive agents, but not as responsive to cancellations as sending service people.

Positives

  • Most claims are simple to set up.

Negatives

  • Reports of phone agents calling when asked not to
  • Issues with cancellations
  • No online claim portal

Repairs & Replacements

Unfortunately, there were many complaints about Septic Maxx services. Most of these concerned unrequested sales tactics by phone and direct mail campaigns that confused consumers. For those that called in requesting service, there were some that described that service providers did not come out. It was difficult to find positive reviews about Septic Maxx's service.

Septic Maxx vs. Other Top Home Warranties

Septic Maxx vs. American Home Shield

American Home Shield, although it doesn't cover septic lines, has a great home warranty product that covers home appliances, in-home plumbing, and electrical systems. They are rated very well by their customers and offer a customizable plan where you can select on the systems and appliances that you really need to fix.

Septic Maxx vs. Choice Home Warranty

Choice Home Warranty is another home warranty company that focuses on repairs and replacements of systems and appliances -- but not septic lines and tanks. They have multiple tiers of service and get really good reviews from customers. They are more budget friendly than many options and have a low service call fee.

Septic Maxx vs. First American

First American is a large title and insurance company and has home warranty services that cover the US. They cover a variety of home appliances and systems for a cost effective pricepoint. They get some negative feedback when some customers expected to pay less, but are well reviewed overall in most cases.

Finding the right home service plan in an ocean of online reviews can be a tedious task. This site's purpose is to provide a detailed account of available home service plans in the US. The scores here are based on aggregated reviews from other sources across the Internet and although we have tried only to find trustworthy reviews, the scores may be affected if outside sites do a poor job mitigating fake reviews.

The makers of Home Brands also make affiliate commissions from some of these home service companies to keep the site running. We do not allow that to affect our scoring.
