Protect America has a lot going for it with over 20 years of experience in the industry, no up-front equipment costs, and locked in monthly pricing. They integrate with smart home technologies, like Z-Wave and Amazon Alexa, while having good reviews from experts as well. There are some points that they don't do as well -- like have high monthly pricing, they aren't as transparent on their website, and some customers have reported that the cancellation experience is difficult.
SimpliSafe is one of the most popular home security company of the 21st century. With a strong marketing presence that spans most types of media, Simplisafe has become a household name over the years. With no contracts and an affordable entry price, it isn't hard to understand why. They are a dependable service and have many nice features for home owners, but in terms of new smart home features and integrations, Simplisafe could do better.

Tarik is one of the best Customer Reps I have ever dealt with. He assisted me in programming two keyless remotes and assuring that my current one worked. He also helped me access my online account. He was professional, understanding and very patient with this 73 year old. He was also persistent and continued to try to figure out what was going on when I was ready to give up. Thank you for the opportunity to interact with him.View More Reviews
I am completely satisfied with the customer service received today in addition to the contractual agreement through Protect America. I look forward to building a positive business relationship with such a reputable company. My customer service Inside Sales Rep, Devin, was professional, courteous, patient and knowledgeable about the security offerings. He actually sold me on the security package because of how he handled the initial inquiry, follow through, and final process.
Shawn was my salesmen and he was a complete gentleman. He went out of his way to show good customer support. I feel that there is a genuine interest to be customer service oriented which is really good. Makes you feel like you matter.
That was the best sales experience I have had in a long time--maybe ever! Jonathan handled our questions in an honest and detailed way. He was a real pleasure to work with. We appreciated him being patient with our questions, personable in sharing little bits of his own life, and hardworking when it came to finding the package and plan that would be the best fit for us. Thanks to Jonathan and Protect America!
Tre was extremely helpful. He answered all of my questions and didn't talk over me. People like him are the reason I do business with your company. I will continue to use you as my alarm company as long as the customer service remains this professional.
I want to thank Bergen for the excellent customer service. He was helpful, detailed, clear in his explanations, concise in his descriptions, and fun to work with. I think I will like the system that Protect America provides. I have worked with ADT and other security companies. Your company seems like a company that has personal relationships with their customers. Thank you.
I am not a Protect America customer yet but I must say Errol the salesperson did a great job trying to sell me a system. He was very attentive to my needs and patient to answer all my questions and tried to work up a great deal for me. I just wasn't ready to make a decision. I wanted to do some more homework on different suppliers. Protect America is one of the companies in the running to get my business. Again, great salesmanship.
Deborah is an outstanding sales rep. She was able to assist with everything I needed to secure my Apartment. I was looking for a great security alarm with a camera and she found me the perfect setup. Thanks to her my place will be secured now.
Jesse was nothing short of being professional, having knowledge of Protect America's policies, demonstrating a caring persona while patiently reviewing options until I was satisfied. The process was seamless and that is what I have began to expect from this company. Thank you Protect America for representatives like him.
I have been with PA for 3 years now. I have no complaints nor issues. I have had a pleasant and simple experience with them. I moved and I got the same good security experience at another home in a different region.
I got numerous free items the first and now the second term with PA. For every alarm activation, and panic activation, I got a quick and timely police response.
Danny Braning offered me numerous incentives to compelling me to stay with PA.
The system is simple, reliable and dependable. The service is cost effective and good......can't ask for anything more for 49.00 a month!
I have a piece of mind at night and when I am at work.
I'm thanking you guys for taking care of me and my family because this area that I live in is so drug infested until it's pitiful. You guys have been keeping me safe for almost 20 years and since I renewed my contract again, please keeping on protecting me. I sold you guys about how protective your company is and so they're on board now, so again Thank You. I love you so much and take care of the good techs that helped me and they're Mattew and Tiffany.
After 2 strange phone conversations and reading several bad reviews, I had written this company off. I found them through the internet when I searched top rated security systems. Anyways, today I got a third call from them. Rick Wood was kind, and knowledgeable and most of all relatable. He made me feel secure with choosing Protect America. I can only hope that install is a breeze as well.
Thank you, Rick!
I had to offset some of these negative reviews. My experience with them has been nothing but pleasant. I am still within the 30 day trial period though, so I will be sure and update after that time.
They matched and beat a price from a competitor.
I will say that you need to be somewhat handy if you want the install to look professional.
Got a security system for my mother in law because someone broke into her house. She lives in Massachusetts and we're in Texas. The sales guy was very nice but he told me it was easy to install for anyone. According to my mother in law it was not so easy, she's no spring chicken and has a bad leg. They did give us 30 days free to try out, it's our fault for not sending it back. She does say the people that call and help with setup are very nice and patient and during the 30 days they did call repeatedly to remind her to set it up. She did say it's easy to use and she likes it. As long as she's happy we're happy.
Sales wait: 5 minutes
Support wait: 60 minutes, never spoke to a human
Chat wait: 2 minutes, they do not handle cancellations
I'm giving them three stars for three years of service without any billing or support issues and friendly staff. Having said that, you can literally call into a support queue, put your phone down, go for an 8 mile run, take a shower and be back on the phone before you ever have a chance to speak to a human. If you need to cancel service, send an email to cancelrequest@protectame…. Put your account # in the subject line and your name/cancel notice in the body of the email.
My wife and I lived in Miami, Fl for many years. We called up Protect America and installed the system in my townhouse. We stayed in Miami for 2 more years and decided to move to the mountains in NC. I told them that I was transfering my service and they said no problem. To make a long story kind of short I got ill. Had an operation to remove my lung. Soon the Cancer came back and it was bad. Soon after, my wife passes away and I had barely enough money to pay for the house and car. I called them, but I needn't have have tried as they started calling my cell # 5 times a day and my home # 5 times a day. This continued until they transferred me to a collection company. I spoke with them today and settled. I am very happy that I will never have to deal with these people again.
BTW,when I did speak to them, I explained what happened and that I couldn't pay them or even install the system and their answer was, sell it to a friend or relative. I asked the guy if he was a maroon. (Dating myself.)
Do not under any circumstances get into a deal with these people. Keep your sign on date as it is automatically transferred if you don't cancel.
Never worked, paid five yrs, Comcast tactics trying to cancel... Absolute scumbags, just go Google them.
Updated: In response to the below message, yes you do have a 36 month contract, I am unsure what the point of stating that is, as your equipment and tech service is inadequate and never actually worked. So yes you do have a 36 month contract, it a good point that you make that people are stuck with shit that does not work for 36 months...
Boy, am I very disappointed in the reliability of the Protect America!s equipment! While in the hospital for two months I was getting FALSE alarm notices on my smartphone almost every day. My family and neighbors got sick of checking on my place each time. All alarms originated with random sensors. I can't wait to get to he end of my expensive contract to dump them!
Update 20 months later: Still hate this service! Nothing has changed other than now hating it more realizing I have a 36 month contract. Sounded okay at signing as only one of us knew how sorry their ewuipment was. Hooked! I can't wait until it expires.
This company is not easy to work with. If you try to cancel they keep you on the phone for as long as they can to wear you down. (I just had my SECOND hour long conversation to try to cancel). Even though they claim that you need to give 30 Day notice to cancel, they will bill you for up to 60 (the month you are in when you want to cancel plus the next month).
Their equipment is a little antiquated and you need to install it yourself and service it yourself.
My advice would be don't be a bargain shopper.
I would definitely give this company a negative rating if it was at all possible. I never would have agreed to a 3 year contract if I had realized there was no termination option available whatsoever. After less than a year, I have moved to a residence where I do not need this system and they have no sympathy or concern. They will tell you to have a family member or friend take over the service, but that is not an option. I do not recommend them and hope that everyone looking to get a home security service reads all of the reviews that also mirror my situation. Once you've signed, you are stuck for three years, no matter what. In this day and time, I don't believe anyone signs a contract for something that is service oriented so I would keep that in mind that this is a 3 year commitment with no options for termination!
I ordered a Protect America system and while the hardware showed up the installer, who I paid extra for, never showed for his appointment. When I called Protect America, they informed me that the appointment was never put in the system. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told one would call me back within 5 minutes. Of course, no one called. Based on this experience I called back and asked for my service to be cancelled (I was still in the trial period) -- of course they couldn't do that either and said I needed to wait until Monday. I had better service from ADT and should have stuck with them. I do not recommend Protect America. Use them at your own risk!
I'm just glad I saw the red flags before I activated my system.
Holy Crap!! I ordered this system, the sales guy was nice, but wow what a bad experience. I currently have Front Point, have had them for 3 years. My contract was up and was slightly unsatisfied because the hardware I have with them is not the newest and greatest so I got hooked up with Protect America and decided to give them a try, not sure why I didn't check Yelp first.
When I ordered my system they setup an activation appointment for today at 6:30pm. So 6:30 rolls around and no one calls, 6:45, still no call. SO I call the activation number and I'm on hold for 20 minutes. At this point I start seeing the red flags and am frustrated enough to just call and cancel. FINALLY get through to someone and tell her I want to cancel and she asks if I already have a return label, I tell her no, she tells me to hold while she forwards me to the right department. HERE I am, sitting here on my couch on a Friday night while my dinner gets cold an hour later STILL waiting.
While I'm sitting here I realize that the system they sent me isn't even a cellular system. The current system I have is, and I explained to the sales person I want a system better than the one I have, why would I switch to pay the same price for a worse system? I also read there's a $79 "restocking fee" for returns. Even though I haven't used it, whatever, you're not going to trick me into activating a system with a company I already have 0 confidence in. I'll pay the fee, and I'll review this company on every review site. If I can save a few people from making the mistake I made then it's worth the $79.
There are several reviews on this company that have the same issues I have had. I am sorry I ever installed an alarm from them and if I could give the company customer service a 0 I would.
Save yourself the headache and go with with another security company. If you do decide to go in contract with them (3 year minimum), you better know for sure that you won't be relocating and/or eliminating the need for security system. The company had 0 forgiveness built in. AND when the contract is up, if you have not given them 30 day notice (NOT 29 days but 30 day written notice), they will charge you extra 2 months. I'm so glad I'm done with this piece of shit company/service!
Absolute worst customer experience and deceiving business practices.
Looking to report them to BBB and any other form of rating system available online.
Same story with contract, they specifically said I could cancel at any time (big for me since I move around a lot) and then they claim I signed a contract electronically which I did not.
Now I am fighting with collections to avoid having to pay 2 years of contract that Protect America tried to get from me.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!
Stay Away!! They convince you with 'free equipment' without advising that cancellation for any legitimate reason is not allowed. (2 years into my contract I got engaged and moved in with my fiance- he already has a system). I accept that I signed a 36 month contract, but I have tried twice to cancel- and both times they completely refuse- and won't even allow me to pay out the contract to cancel. I am told that I must wait until 30 days before the contract expires before I can even start the cancellation process. (I guess they hope I forget to do it- but its already on my calendar!) As like other reviewers, I was told to 'sell it to a friend or family member'. There are too many companies now that are not contract binding- even the cellphone companies let you buy out of a contract- but not with PA! RUN RUN RUN AWAY!
Stay away from them! They will trick you and you will be stuck under contract! I signed a 3-year monitoring contract with Protect America on January 5, 2018. The contract allows me to use their monitoring system risk free for 15 days. On the sales call on Jan 5th, I specifically asked the representative if the key fob was included in the monitoring package, and he answered yes, admitting that he sometimes forgets little things like this here and there. The bulk of my security equipment was shipped on January 8, 2018, and I received the shipment on January 11, 2018. I promptly activated the system that night. While I was on the call, I noticed that the shipment did not have all the equipment that was promised. No key fob was found. I told a representative on the phone and she promised that a key fob will be shipped the following day so that I have all the items promised in my monitoring package. I received the package with the key fob on January 16th, and I have a picture of the shipping label that shows the package was shipped on January 12th, as the representative on the phone promised. On January 24th and January 25th, I called Protect America and requested to cancel my monitoring service. My request was refused even though all my equipment wasn't fully shipped out until January 12th. Yesterday was January 24th, it would have only been 12 days since the SHIPMENT of the package that completes everything I was promised when I signed up for the service. Despite being on the call for an hour today, the representative refuses to process my cancellation request. Buyers beware in dealing with this company as they are only in it to con your money.
UPDATE: 01.31.2018 - Adam from Protect America informed me that they will not cancel my contract. This company is the worst in every way possible. My advice would be avoid doing business with these people.
Terrible customer service. When I called to cancel my service I got hung up on 3 times. Refused to give me a return label, and kept asking why I was canceling even though I said I didn't want to discuss it. Pain in the butt to deal with
BE AWARE OF SCAM!!! this company is signing 3 years agreement without right to cancel without customer signature using stolen SS#. Multiple attempts to terminate illegally signed contract however representatives refuse to resolve any issue without paying off accumulated balance. No proper correspondence or communication. They clearly hide important information about cancelation policy in order to take advantage of customers. Even after 3 years contract is paid off they continue charging the account on monthly basis without any confirmation. Stay away from these scammers.
I have not had such a poor experience with a company ever. After moving I tried to cancel my service. The "retention" department is only available Monday through Friday. I waited on hold two different times for a total of 58 minutes. I finally got to talk to a human and was told he would send an email that I had to sign in order to verify I'm ending service and that it takes another 30 days for that to take effect. So I'm being charged for a system that is disconnected in a house in which I do not live. They could make the email cancellation process an online one and immediate but they choose to make you jump through so many hoops to cancel that it is PAINFUL. I'm infuriated at the way they treat customers like idiots. My bad for signing up with a "budget friendly" home security company.
Protect America is such a rip off. Their equipment is straight from the 90's and they rip you off when your contract is up. I hated their service because alarms would go off, sensors went bad after 6 months and their fobs are pieces of crap.
I finally get to cancel after 3 years so I call them up to cancel. After waiting 90 minutes on the phone I finally get someone from their "retention" office only to have them say I have to send them in a letter or email to cancel. In other words, "We're going to make it a complete hassle to cancel your account because we can't retain customers on service alone".
I submitted my cancellation request and wouldn't you know it I get another bill. They said I didn't cancel soon enough. So after waiting for 90 minutes on the phone, sending in a cancellation request via email they still say it wasn't good enough. They just want to ping me for another $60 on crappy service.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. COMPLETE RIP OFFS
You can not cancel service. They will not accept even a cancellation fee. They want the whole 3 year contract paid in full to cancel
Do not get it!! They have poor service and charge you for everything imaginable.
I have a 3 year contract and after only 9 months a sensor does not work, so that want to to charge me to replace it. I disputed and would not pay, so they were 'generous' to wave the fee for the part, but still wanted to charge me $10 for mailing their defective product.
Then i moved, informed them of the address change (i get bills to the new address), and 2 months later my alarm went off and they notified the prior addresses police.
Another month later, I tried to change cc for payment, and find out they are still going by the old address.
There are many better systems out there, all you need are motion sensors, not the window detectors that they rip you off on, and their motion sensor are not very sensitive.
you can buy better systems at Home depot for one time price instead of long term contract
I have NEVER written a negative review for any company but Protect America has really been the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I was locked into a 2-year contract in Maryland with them and I informed them that I was moving to California because of unforeseen circumstances. They claimed they didn't support the California market and that I would not be able to cancel my contract. 3 years later, I'm still paying for a service I haven't used for 2 years, I've been trying to cancel ever since but when I call support, no one wants to help. Horrible customer service and I would not recommend to anyone!
These systems will only work if you have a small house with strong cell signal. I used it for 2 years and had 3 false alarms because the stick on sensors fall off when the windows get how or fail because it got hot. Now that I've moved to a hilly area the console is offline more time than not but the support line keeps saying it's on. They won't let me out of a contract with only a few months to go telling me I need to get new equipment to use their service because they refuse to monitor the state of the art system that is built into the house. Don't bother with them and look for another company that won't lock you in for 3 years.
(Update) ** Customer service is ignoring any requests and told us if we want a transcription of the recorded phone calls, we will need a subpoena, that seems fair. **Longtime customer here (15 years) I was duped into signing a 3 year extension. I've decided not to have the service (it's not even hooked up). They refuse to let me out of my contract. Whatever happened to customer service? Does customer loyalty mean anything anymore?Protect America is just a money grab and no customer service. I would rate them zero stars if I could. I advise you to stay away from this company.
Bad bad bad choice on my part to use this company. Tired to get the best deal and it has been a headache from the beginning. Faulty product, ALWAYS long holds. I WOULD NOT recommend. Peace of mind is better that price. I learned the hard way.
This company is the WORST! They will charge you and continue to tell you month after month (after your three year commitment) that you are still responsible for the monthly payment until you provide a written cancelation, however, they never provide a form and conveniently disconnect you when you are being transferred to the cancellation dept. They will badger you like no other and provide ZERO service.
I would leave a 0 if I could!!
They are the worst experience I have had as a consumer hands down. They offer a poor product and are not flexible at all in terms of consumer complaints. They were happy to take my money but when I was unhappy with the product itself and the service, there was 'nothing they can do'. When I finally was able to cancel my contract, they claim I didn't follow all the steps necessary to cancel and thus kept charging me for months when I was not receiving the service. They are the absolute worst. Stay far, far away from these scam artists. Plenty of other better options out there.
I have been with Protect America for about 2 years and I have had nothing but problems! Please save yourself a lot of heartache and don't use this company.
For starters, every time I call they have really long wait times before you actually get to talk to a person. They do have a feature that allows you to enter a callback number and they will call you back so you don't have to wait on hold the entire time. It has taken anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour for them to call back. On the occasions that it has taken an hour. So never call unless you have a least an hour of time available.
My second complaint is with the monitoring service itself. Despite multiple requests they can't seem to follow simple instructions when the alarm goes off. My issue is that I am a single person and I do not have a landline. I only have a cell phone, which is my primary number for personal and business. Apparently in the state of Texas it is a law that they have two phone numbers on file. This is a problem as I only have one phone number. So I gave them a family members number to comply and asked that they always call me first and leave me a message if I do not answer. Well that has yet to happen. I have had 3 false alarms in the 2 years of owning the system. In two of the instances they called me but did not leave a message. So all I saw was I had a missed call from an unknown number with no message. I assumed it was a telemarketer. The third time I didn't even have a missed call from them. So this is why the fire department showed up at my house unnecessarily. The smoke detector went off while we were cooking in the kitchen. The code to cancel the alarm was entered on the panel, but still the fire department showed up. Why because this was the time I didn't have a missed call. They assure me that someone did call, but something obviously happened and I never received the call. If they would have called, I would have told them it was a false alarm and to NOT send anyone.
My most recent complaint is in regards to moving. Do not use this system if there is even a remote chance that you will be moving during the 3 year contract time frame. I recently moved to a new home. The new house already has a security system installed and all I have to do is call and activate the monitoring service. It is a very nice system with sensors on all the doors and windows, glass breaks, and multiple motion sensors throughout the house. The problem is that I still have about a year left on my contract with Protect America. They will not let me out of my contract. So my choice is install their system at my house and put up with their monitoring service for another year or I can pay for two monitoring services until my contract expires. I am cheap so I am putting up with it for another year. So now I am installing new equipment right next to equipment that is already in the house. And nothing works right. It has been a nightmare to set up the equipment. I have already spent 2.5 hours on the phone trying to get it working and it still isn't working yet. They are supposed to call me on Saturday where I have blocked off two more hours to get it working. I have no faith that they will actually call on Saturday. Every other time I have requested a call back from a person, it never happens.
I have been in the new house for two weeks and their equipment still isn't installed and working, so I am paying for a service I am not using.
Please save yourself a lot of heartache and do not use Protect America. They will offer you cheap equipment you have to install yourself, with very little customer service support.
I'm very unhappy with Protect America. I have been a customer for 15+ years and now I feel trapped in a contract that I can't get out of. How can a company hold you hostage in this day and age? Whatever happened to customer service?
Very poor customer service and even more poor customer policies. When I moved and cancelled they kept billing me even though my system was not even set up. They also do not prorate for any time you do not use, instead they bill you an extra month and a half. Very bad company.
Terrible, unorganized service. Trying to cancel the service was even more painful. Stay clear
DO NOT USE PROTECT AMERICA, STAY FAR AWAY.
SALES TIME: 15 min.
SUPPORT TIME: 3+ HOURS EVERY TIME.
BILLING SUPPORT: 45-1 hour Hold times expected each time.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. This has to be the worst alarm company around. DO NOT for any reason use them. Their Custom Service billing, tech support, and sales are like the worst sleezy car salesmen around. They require E-Billing, no statements at all (not even if you beg) They are rude, and lock you into a 36 month contract.
If I could give this company less than one star I would! Equipment is junk, installation was horrible, but the worst is their customer service!! After opting for this company the technician came out to install, before 24 hours had passed, 3 sensors had fallen off the wall, the base control had gone off in the night twice. Had no sleep. Called before 24 hours to let them know, the customer service canceled the service, BUT I have not received the shipping label promised, first they said next day, then in 1/2 hour, then 24 hours, well that time has passed, nothing. So they Lied to me, do yourself a favor don't deal with this company. If for nothing else but it's awful customer service.
Do NOT sign a contract with this company. Wanted to cancel after 6 months but the wait for a customer service rep was over an hour each time so i gave up. You are bound to this contract for 3 year whether you use it or not. Don't make the same mistake I made.
TERRIBLE alarm company. As long as they have their money from you, thinks tend to work well. Once your contract runs out, they start throwing "free stuff" at you without telling you that they are going to re-start a contract. When you need to cancel, they claim they need 30 days to "process" the cancellation. It takes quite a bit of discussion to get them to tell you the process, which would take about an hour tops. They just want one more month out of you before they watch yet another customer running for the doors.
Like the others have said - save yourselves. Go with another company. They are scammers.
I've been a Protect America (PA) customer for 3 years. However, I finally bought my first home in December and moved into it. My contract with (PA) was actually up in January. So I called in at the end of that month and was told that I had 1 more month left on the contract. Weird because I got the contract in January 2014, but they said it wasn't up until February 2017?
Long story short, I had paid over $200 for service that I did not have activated or setup. I moved out of the property where we previously lived. I called to cancel my service last month and was charged again this month (April 2017). When I called to find out why, I was told that I didn't cancel in time and that when I received the cancellation email, it explained all of that.
I spoke with a Supervisor named Damon who was no help at all. Instead of this man actually trying to help, he hurt his company. How, because I am on here letting everyone know that although I was a GREAT customer for 3 years, never missed payments, actually completed the contract, etc., when I asked for a REFUND on ONLY the $54.99 payment that debited on 4/1, he wouldn't do it. I wasn't asking for the previous 3 months, which I should get back as well. But because there was a lot of back and forth, I decided to just bite the bullet and hope that he would have a moral conscience and just refund this months fee.
Nope. All he could do is quote the policies of this company.
It doesn't matter how great a customer you are with this company. They will keep trying to nickel and dime you. All of the negative posts on here are true. There are reasons why sites like this exist and that's to help consumers make an informed decision on where to spend their money.
Don't spend it here.
Customer service is terrible. They are rude and do not respect the fact that you're spending your hard earned money on their products. They WILL send you through the queue and there WILL be long wait holds. Supervisors do not call you back. They aren't really interested in helping, just taking you $$$$.

Couldn't be more pleased with this company and their product. Easy to install and customer service is fantastic.View More Reviews
I have been using this system for 2 years, work perfectly and customer service is great. Their service can't be beat. If you need to add to your system order the item when it arrives. Go to your desktop program name and add the items to your system. It is just that easy.
I purchased the older system 2.0 in November 2016, we had no problems except the keypad entry was small and not backlit. When the new system 3.0 came out I upgraded to it this January, it is night and day easier to install, the base station tells you by name if there are any open sensors, also the mobile app works ten times faster than the old one. Customer service lacks a lot, messages aren't returned and it takes a long time for someone to answer, once answered I was pleased with the help I received.
Excellent and easy installation, runs off battery, recognized by local police dept and 15.99 per month. We have had our system 3 yrs and feel very secure.
Good instructions for installing and setting the options in the SimpliSafe website. Easy to install DIY systems with good array of optional devices. Quick responses to alarms.
They did what they needed to and helped all that they could. When I called they could have been a little nicer and more professional. They were efficient and fast and answered any question that I had. Very professional and not weird. Since it's scary to have someone come into your house I wasn't scared. Pretty good system and monitoring is definitely recommend to others. Very good value. It's great. Would def recommend to others cause I love it so so so much. I really do I feel so freaking safe.
The customer service was great. They are always there when you need them. I would not change them for the world. Any time I ever had a problem they was the first to respond. They was there on time. They were very nice. It took them no time at all to set everything up and I have had no problems at all and that is all. All I can say is that everything about them is great. I have had no problems with anything. I would recommend them to everyone. The value was great. It fitted right into my income. I could not have asked for anything better nor could anyone else. Once I was with them I stayed with them.
I am highly satisfied with the customer service operators. I called a couple times and so far operators were very friendly and eager to help. The setup and installation process was not hard and pretty much guided so I didn't have to worry about any possible problems or issues. It's a pretty user-friendly process, I would say. I am very satisfied with the product monitoring capability. It works just as I thought it's going to be. Have no problems or issues and satisfied with the quality. I do think I got a good value for the price paid. Wouldn't mind to pay less of course, but still seems like the value to price ratio is justified.
Their customer service is of the utmost quality, and their system has worked very well in my home. It has great quality and works very well as we were robbed earlier in the year and it helped keep my family safe. The setup was very easy, the person that did it was very helpful and professional. They worked very fast and were very knowledgeable about any question that I had about their service.
The customer service was very helpful in the set up. They walked me through everything that I need to know about the item. They were very helpful. The set up was really easy and I didn't need any extra help from anyone like I thought I would. I was able to do it all by myself with little to no help. I am able to see everything going on with my house when I'm not there. I feel a lot better about not being home. I don't have to worry about the security anymore. It is a great deal. I would have bought one along time ago had I known that they work this good and weren't very expensive. Great value from the quality of the item.
Great customer service. Always have the answer I need and always are nice over the phone. Never any problems with them. Call anytime and there always help me. Setup was easy. No problems at all. Went fast and easy. Everything I needed came with the product. Anyone can do it. Great monitoring. Always on the right place. Easy to see whatever I'm looking for with great ease and easy viewing. Crisp, clear and easy to view what's on the monitors. Has great value for the buck. A lot cheaper than others and does a lot better job. A great system at a great price. A value I could never pass up. And great selection.
Usually when there's something that goes wrong, I can always rely on their customer service to be able to help me through it all! No matter what the problem is, they ALWAYS try their best to help me fix it. Installation was fast and easy! There was definitely no problem setting it up! It's fast and simple and you don't have to worry about installing any wires into your home. The security system is VERY sensitive to change in motion, temperature, air, humidity, light, and it's able to detect anyone that's intruding guaranteed! It's a little pricey but you definitely get what you've bargained for! The price is overall worth it and I'm sure you'll be pleased with how awesome this device is. You'll feel secure!
I am very happy with the customer service. It was very helpful to me when I needed it most. My problem was fixed very quickly. The person I talked to was very nice. I was very satisfied with the set up and the installation. The work of the set up and the installation caused no concerns for me, and it did not take too long to complete. I would rate the monitoring a perfect 10. I was very happy about it. No issues to talk about there. It really went smoothly, and I had no complaints. I would rate the perceived value a perfect 10. Well worth it and nothing to make haste of the perceived value. I would highly recommend it to all.
It's comprehensive but user-friendly. It's totally wireless and still runs without house power. It features live monitoring and can be controlled from your smartphone. Setup was easy. I pay $14.99 per month for live monitoring. It works excellent and provides thorough security coverage. Great value. Well worth the price in comparison to its competitors.
I was pleasantly surprised by their support center. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. No request went unfulfilled. I would highly recommend this company!! Technician was prompt and pleasant. He was in my house for maybe an hour and then spent as much time as I needed explaining to me how everything worked. Not rushed or rude at all.
The service makes me feel safe when alone at home. I get a call if something go wrong. I feel safe from all. If I was to get sick I can still get help. Knowing my safety is just a call away. Easy to set up. Motion detectors, window locks and you can also get a camera. Being able to know you're safe gives you peace of mind. Helps me monitor my house from anywhere. Grandkids never know I'm watching them. I know that they're safe. Everyday I smile because my system is on and protecting me and my family. At a great low cost and I could activate myself. Satisfaction guarantee. Anyone can do it and you will be on your way to safety. Puts a smile on my face.
Great system. I accidentally hit the panic button as I was carrying heavy furniture up my front steps and bumped the key fob/remote into the railing. I got a call from Simplisafe in less than a minute, they were checking on me to see if I was ok!
I've had this system over a year and thought it had recently malfunctioned, I called customer service and all I had to do was replace the batteries in the keypad, that was easy. The customer service reps have always been extremely kind and helpful. Thanks Simplisafe.
I had this service since 2013. I have nothing but great things to say about them. Whenever I had a problem with service or the product I had a great experience.
For the price one is paying per month, its an absolute value.
I cant wait until they get their camera system available in December 2015.
I researched quite a few alarm systems on the market. SimpliSafe caught my eye with their new system. The old system I understand had some difficulties. In my case I was looking for one system that could service two structures. My residence and my office, which is just about 55 yards away. I installed my main system in my residence first. No connectivity issues at first, everything went smooth... until I tried to connect to my WiFi. It would simply not connect to my main network, which is 2.4 and 5.0 GHz. It would say... wrong password or are you connected to the internet.
This company has excellent customer service. I purchased one of their systems, but found it probably wasn't going to do me any good if I didn't buy the monitoring package. I initially thought it would be great for when we are home. But when I got to thinking about it, what would happen if we were out of town and the alarm ( siren) went off. So , I thought best to return it. The customer service person helped me with one phone call and made arrangement to send it back for a refund. I was was not put on "hold". He did not try to talk me into keeping it or did he try to sell me anything else. He gave me all the information I needed to send it back immediately. I have never encountered such service from anyone in the past. These guys are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a security system.
So far so good. Only had a week, but install and set up was a piece of cake. Had to customer support for a couple of clarifying questions, wait time seemed a little long but I expected it so no big deal. They answered all questions and offered to help with anything else. 3 close friends including my homeowners insurance company owner currently use this system so I gave it a try based on their positive feedback.
I HAD THE SAME SECURITY SYSTEM AND MONITORING COMPANY FOR OVER 30 YEARS. I recently had new windows installed in the home and the energy efficient frames covered the wires on each window. There was no way to restore the old wired system. They offered a wireless system for $300 with a new two year contract for $29/month. Problem was the base system had only about 4 door/window sensors. I needed 12 and the cost was an extra $400.00 ($50 each).
I researched the top systems with all the bells and whistles and fancy control panel screens. Then I found SimpliSafe and was skeptical at first. NO CONTRACT REQUIRED! I bought the build it yourself system with everything including keychain remotes (2), CO alarm, siren, smoke detector, and all sensors for $600! Signed up for their monitoring program at $14.95/month. My old alarm company was $29/month. I've worked in every type of electronics fields that you can imagine and when I got the package I was extremely pleased! I was able to select only the sensors that I needed and should I decide to add something else later it is easy. The components are solid and very easy to install. You can look at online videos or simply read the small manual to install. Based on a technical writing job I had this is the best manual I can imagine. Pictures with clear explanations. The icing on the cake is the telephone support. Called the phone number, pressed 2 and I was speaking to CS rep within TWO MINUTES!!! Not an overseas call center and these people knew how to help and could easily access system remotely to test.
You can use the system with a land line, but unless your area isn't covered by wireless carriers use wireless. Our connectivity with the alarm system is better than our two cell carriers.
There are standard packages, but I found do it yourself was best for me. I've a large home so it will be less expensive for those with smaller homes or apartments.
The savings on monitoring cost will effectively pay for the system in 40 months.
Check your existing contract if you already have a service. Many, like mine, have automatic renewal for one year periods. Put on your happy face and call to tell them you wish to cancel. You're moving to Italy, selling your home to travel in new motorhome... I'd been with our company for a long time and the CS rep voided the annual contract, made it month to month, with a single payment remaining. All I had to do was FAX a letter with my request and reason. YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY!
I've had my Simplisafe system for about 6 months now and have had two experiences of their efficiency. First, I accidentally pressed my remote's panic button when changing it out of the previous day's pants. In less than ten seconds SS was calling my phone and I quickly confirmed the accident with appropriate safe word use. They cancelled their call to our local 911 center. Second, a ceiling tile in my basement fell and set off a motion detector. Again, in seconds they had me on the phone and we cleared up the problem in an impressive, regimented manner. Their contact staff was efficient and courteous. I love my Simplisafe system and have great peace of mind with it in service.
I've been using Simplisafe for more than a year and their service is outstanding. Their dispatch center is prompt and direct. The service has been reliable at protecting our home year-round. Their pricing is competitive to other alarm services and setting up the sensors is a breeze. You won't be disappointed!
Simplisafe has been great for us and our company. We purchased one of the original systems back in 2015. The setup was easy and when we had a problem, customer service was available and totally helpful. Later, when the system had problems, they were again available and helpful in guiding us to a solution with no cost to us.
The best story from our uneventful relationship with Simplisafe came when there was a fire in the building of our office. The "false alarm reduction" company that all of us have to pay for tried to charge us a fine and Simplisafe took over and resolved the problem for us. No other company has ever been willing to take on a frustrating task like that for us, and again they did it at no charge.
Thanks Simplisafe. Your team is great to work with. And so today we just purchased a new system to add to our home.
Really nice stuff.... Turned my home into a impenetrable fortress with this stuff and easy to install. From really cool servalances cams, water detectors and anything else you need, and I do mean everything... I've only been with them for a week now, but am very impressed. Pretty costley startup to purchase the equipment, but I got it all, after figuring it out it will pay for itself in 2 1/2 years.. The $25 a monthly monitoring fee will be 1/2 the cost I am paying for my old service and its all savings thereafter. And did I mention if you need help there a fast phone call away and on the phone with you in seconds if that alarm goes of.
SimpliSafe had a deal on the **** ******** Thermostat, purchased item and waited for a week. Was not until I called in to ask about order status they informed me they have oversold the Nest Thermostats and will not be shipping them out nor honoring their price on future inventory.
I've had a SimpliSafe system for years. They seem to respond to alarm events as quickly as any other monitoring service I've ever used. Their customer support is lacking. I learned the hard way that if you need support, call as though you're a new customer. Someone will talk to you if you're a new customer. If you choose the customer support option, you'll be on hold forever. Don't expect a callback after leaving a voice message either. The equipment almost all worked when it was new. They replaced the parts that didn't work, but the replacements didn't always work either. Beware that the equipment is cheap and slowly stops working right around the time it's no longer covered under the replacement policy. For me personally they've always been good about shipping new common parts. I've never ordered anything fancier than sensors, key fobs, batteries and signs. Their system is great for people who need a theft deterrent, a portable system and/or do not want to pay for a monitoring service but still want sensors with an alarm. I wouldn't recommend them to someone who wants a reliable monitored security system.
I purchased the simplisafe unit and have been adding devices as I can afford. Recently we learned there is a new Simplisafe and have been told that our existing units are not backward compatible and we would have to purchase all over again if we wanted to upgrade. Simplisafe has upgraded in the past when they upgraded from S1 to S2 but now that they have S3 they are refusing to provide an upgrade path or offer existing customers a discount to purchase the new systems. This is very poor customer service in my experience and I will not re-purchase an entire system every time they upgrade. Be aware of this practice because they kept selling the old units even when the new systems were hours away from being sold on the website
Now I am really disliking this company for different reasons. First I returned an item, they acknowledged receiving it but the refund never came. I called them after 2 months and the agent said "oh let me process the refund since we already got the item". Meaning to say nothing could have been done supposedly.
After that I tried calling customer service due to triggered alarm but it's impossible to contact them. Very poor customer service. I would suggest you find a better alarm company before you purchase their product.
Simplisafe a monitoring system that sells self-maintaining alarms to protect your property has not been able to solve any issues related to the product I bought in January 2017. They have changed the system 3 times, sent countless replacement parts. Every time we call to trouble shoot, we spend over an hour guessing what could be the issue. Their customer service is not trained and after escalating to managers we get temporary solutions. This has completely changed our perception about simplisafe's ability to protect our home. When I asked for a refund I was told that they could not honor that request. So now I'm stuck with a malfunctioning home protection system. Any solution that I might get from this forum?
I ordered units for two homes at the same time but to eliminate confusion the sales person placed two separate orders. I was charged for both units but only one was delivered. After several phone calls the second unit was delivered. The first unit was to be used in a rural location where only Verizon is available and this was told to the sales person. The unit was delivered with T-Mobile communication capability only. After another phone call a new part for the base unit was delivered which communicates with Verizon but the unit had to be disassembled to install the new board and the old bard returned to simplisafe. This would be a problem for some people.
I ordered 6 new motion entry sensors. I had trouble entering the new sensors via the key pad therefore I called for technical support. I tried to call for 3 days during business hours and never got an answer. I left a message stating my problem. On the 4th day I went into test mode again to see if perhaps the sensors were now online. When you enter test mode the third party monitoring agency calls to alert you. I mentioned to them I am trying to test to newly installed sensors which weren't working. They transferred me to the technical support and I finally got someone. They re-entered the sensors and said there was nothing left to do and that they were working. I got home later and went back into test mode and the sensors are still not recognized by the system. The third party monitoring agency called me to alert me I was in test mode and I mentioned I was having problems with my set up and that I was having even bigger problems getting any support. They mentioned they have heard this complaint from many customers, some stating wait times of 45 minutes on the phone until they are able to get someone from customer support on the phone.
I purchased the Simplisafe product more than 6 months ago. They sent the wrong product initially and since then I have been sent faulty product (entry sensors that were faulty, I received 2-3 replacement entry sensors thus far and still awaiting a replacement keychain remote as the one I currently have is faulty). If you have to call in for customer service support be prepared to wait 20+ minutes on hold or leave a message. Every time I call in to trouble shoot, I spend 30 minutes to 1 hour+ on the phone with customer service trying to find a resolve.
As of right now, I have been listening to the "on hold" music for exactly 34 MINUTES! This, after spending 20 minutes waiting on hold earlier for a representative called "Jean C***** to tell me he was sending me a return label and never did! This company has great potential and its products are great, but this level of customer service is just PATHETIC!! How can they even JUSTIFY this aberration of having EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER wait for 20+ minutes on a GOOD DAY to reach someone!!?? This is 2018!! Just because of that I might go with somebody else even if more expensive and even if they have a contract! I can only imagine how more HORRIBLE it is going to be after the release of their new SimpliSafe 3 system and more people start buying! This company's leadership are CLUELESS about such a CRITICALLY IMPORTANT aspect of any good company as customer service is. Great potential, but shooting itself on the foot so far. Shameful!
While the security system we received was easy to install, I've spent four days awaiting a response from their customer support team. Our system will not send a test signal to the monitoring center (to whom we've also spoken with regarding the situation). This system is literally useless without someone to monitor the activity. Incredibly disappointing to have experienced such a negative experience from a company with such glowing reviews.
I wish I had read these reviews and others on reputable review sites before I got involved. I will say, at first my numerous email inquiries (to be absolutely certain this equipment would meet my needs) were answered promptly and I was assured my monitoring requirements would be satisfied. It was only after the purchase that I had contact them with problems I was having. Anywhere from basic, boilerplate responses to flat out cluelessness (yeah, I know that's not a real word).
Typical when a company comes out with something new that catches on thus causing an overload leading to long wait times, and less than adequately trained customer service reps who by their very affect alone demonstrate their inability to understand the issue (the racket of banter in the background didn't help).
I have my fingers crossed they will honor their return policy.
NOTE: After posting this review there was an email with a return label attached. So, no problem there thus far.
