Love my 2Gig smart home security
Love my 2Gig smart home security and fire alarm system with two way voice. I have had it for years with no issues. I use to sell Alarm system and this one was my favorite. Customer service from Link Interactive has been great also.

I just sign up with them recently they are awesome!! I was on the phone Alexis she very patient and very kind keep the good work!! Thanks
I just got off the phone with Andrea
I just got off the phone with Andrea from Link Interactive and she is really stellar. I was initially going to move to ADT because they have a long history in security, however their customer service is very poor and they have a confusing deal with third parties so it's not clear who you are actually dealing with at any given time. Andrea from Link allowed me to take some time to think about getting the home security system without any pressure whatsoever (not the situation with other home security companies--I've called a few in my search for one). Andrea even asked if I wanted her to call me back in 15 mins so I could think about it more. I got back on the phone and she answered all my questions and was very personable. I was just impressed by her and therein, Link Interactive. Looking forward to working with them.
I purchased our link interactive system
I purchased our link interactive system through Costco a little over a year ago after suffering for YEARS with a local South Florida security monitoring company, a rather unhealthy relationship because it was a family "friend". The company didn't want to deal with online access, at one point, when we wanted cameras and phone app access to the security system, the owner told us that was stuff he didn't feel like dealing with; customer service *so* bad, even at the end still demanding payment when the darn alarm panel sat dormant for *months* because none of their techs could keep scheduled repair appointments. I had to call BBB for them to stop billing us. We would've left a review for the company but we heard they harassed another customer so badly for leaving a very similarly telling review, we said forget it and hope for Karma. Grrr. Smh. Moving on.
At that point, we were up for DIY security. So far this has been good for our family.
5+* - customer service, incredible. Hard to beat. They baby step us every time I call. Every tech I've spoken to has the patience of steel, like nothing you say could be more stupid, even though might be.
4* - the equipment selection. It's mostly alarm.com products, which have been OK. Some home automation, I love the thermostat. You can't just order from the website, you have to call and speak to someone which is a little bit of a pain of you know exactly what you need. We've had a few equipment issues, the the customer service has been so good, they usually figure it all the first call. It's not always cutting edge, but it works for us
4.5* - for the app and the security control website, which is great for novice users like me. UI is pretty good. You can also get fancy with programming your system, too once you get the gist of how extensive you'd like to be alerted of things like if a certain door opens using a certain entry code (the kid is home), talk to someone at the door even if they don't ring the doorbell (I once told police officers how cute they were as they walked past my front door while they were responding to a false alarm), garage door control, automated door locks lock when you arm the system, and so much more!
Prices for monthly monitoring are very competitive with other companies. They do have contracts they say to keep pricing lower; I wasn't too happy about. But I relented and now we plan to be with this company for a long, long time, their service is evolving and is keeping up with technology, unlike others.
Trying to protect our family at home and the little bit we have
Sad to say.
I find the company in general to be satisfactory
I find the company in general to be satisfactory. This is my third alarm company in a span of approximately thirty years. The first was the best, in terms of customer service and interpersonal relations. This present company seems to function at an acceptable level with the exception of the fact that I have told them on many occisions that I prefer the use of my family name as opposed to their casual "first" name philosophy. For some reason they find it difficult to accept this request. Secondly in the almost three years that I have been with them, I have experienced difficulty on more than one occasion, in getting competent assistance in the installation of add-on sensors. In addition to not having the knowledge, some agents could not even point me to an online or catalog reference.
These guys were incredibly helpful to deal with on the phone
These guys were incredibly helpful to deal with on the phone. A Very knowledgeable salesperson, who did not rush me. I would definitely use them again.
I have been doing online research
I have been doing online research of security systems for months and finally tripped on an online review of Link Interactive via Costco.
This is the best of all worlds - DIY installation with professional monitoring. I love, love, love how much I can configure everything. I love that the Control Panel is also a Z Wave Controller, so I now have the beginning of a smart home - starting with my connected thermostat.
I have installed window or door sensors, two interior cameras, one exterior camera, two additional motion detectors. I will add a few more things on later, but I can't believe the features and functionality.
I purchased Link Interactive services through Costco. All of the equipment is actually 2GIG or Alarm.com. I access my entire system through Alarm.com. The price through Costco is amazing! I compared my experience to a co-worker who has the identical equipment through Vivent. She is sick with jealousy at the better prices - and the fact that I installed it all myself! I only needed to call Link once to activate, but did everything myself with the online support instructions.
I could not be any happier. Actually, I could be very slightly happier - I seriously wish that their camera equipment was offered in black. I have one camera in the middle of my AV equipment which is all black, so the white camera is really obvious. I actually spray painted my exterior camera so that it didn't stick out!
I'm so glad I found Link Interactive!
I would put 0 stars if there were that possibility
I would put 0 stars if there were that possibility. The company must have posted those positive reviews themselves because those review do NOT the company the we have dealt with. Link Interactive has been totally unhelpful. They have been dishonest, uncommunicative and unresponsive. I REALLY want to warn everyone to avoid this company. I wish someone had warned us.
Emily was great
Emily was great in helping me decide on a solution. I had compared many providers and never once did she say anything bad about the other vendors. She kept her patience with me while doing this and made sure I was comfortable with Link. The experience with her and the "non pushy" approach ultimately had an impact on me choosing Link to protect our home.
Link Interactive is Awesome
Link Interactive is Awesome, I have been a customer for 3 years. Can't be the monthly fee and there friendly customer support.
I also purchased my system through Costco
I also purchased my system through Costco. If you are handy at all, this is the way to go. Same equipment as the big players, but at much better prices. The packages were customizable, so I was able to get all the options I wanted without anything I didn't need. The ability to connect my garage door control, is very handy. Before I used to forget to close the door sometimes, so it's nice to be able to check from my phone and close if needed.
Their support was very responsive and helpful during setup, which is important, because these wireless systems are a bit more complicated to setup than the old wired systems.
Overall, I highly recommend if you're handy and willing to spend a little time. I liked that I was able to set everything exactly the way I wanted, rather than rely on an installer that I had no idea how good they would be.
Converting from local telephone security
Converting from local telephone security system in Southeast North Carolina. No problems with them, except to upgrade to the new technology would have been crazy expensive.
Found Link Interactive through Costco. Prices are pretty good for sensors. Monthly fee for the interactive and geo services is great. Also video is only $5 more per month, not bad.
Needed some guidance setting up system. The tech support is top notch, best in class. Brice and Paul were excellent to work with. Thanks guys!
I would not hesitate using them. I never heard of them before, but they are a great company.
The equipment is great
The equipment is great. The set up was simple. The features are awesome.
Being billed for the length of the contract instead of the month to month option my signed contract states, not so great. Receiving no notification that my credit card would be charged over $1,000.... not awesome. Waiting on a call back to resolve. Hope to be able to update this, as we really do like the security system.
9/24 updated to 4 stars. Link was quick to address the issue and refund. Always very professional. In all reality this should be a 5 star review, but as a matter of principal I'll leave it at 4. At any rate I would highly recommend Link.
When we walked out of our door one day to find three white men in rubber gloves
When we walked out of our door one day to find three white men in rubber gloves and covered faces, we knew they had been staking out our house and we're waiting for us to leave to break into our house. Police caught them, held them at gunpoint, tazed them, found and returned stolen property and sent them to jail. Turned out they're neighborhood boys (one of whom is the son of a neighborhood officer) and they've broken into two homes already - even after released from jail! Needless to say, we beefed up our security the same day.
We looked at numerous systems and we finally decided on Link Home Security. We trust Costco to give us good recommendations - they were spot on. The system was easy to install and amazingly simple to use.
Their system app allows you to monitor your home with cameras, receive texts or emails when a sensor is triggered, has an incredible glass break sensor (I dropped my keys on the trash can and set it off!), and has smash and grab technology that immediately sends a signal to police if you don't turn off the alarm or they don't get a response. And police response is FAST.
Yesterday, we came home and forgot to turn the alarm off and came in the garage door. The alarm went off, we bolted for the panel (it took less than 30 seconds to get there) and immediately there was a man on the panel demanding that we identify ourselves and our passcodes twice, as well as ask if we were safe and if we needed assistance.
We took a chance and we couldn't be happier with this system. Their customer support is phenomenal and patient and you will frequently work with the same people so you're not bounced around to people you don't need to talk to.
In terms of costs, we got sensors, motion sensors, cameras, glass break, fire and cold, panic buttons, keyfobs, keypads - nearly everything they had - and it was about $800. You can get alerts on up to 10 sensors on your app, but if you want more it's less than $5 for another 10 sensors. We pay around $34/mo. Plus, it's all on cellular network so there's no wires to cut and it runs on battery backup. No installation fees bc you do it yourself.
If you're considering alarm systems, I highly recommend Link Home Security. It's one of the few that includes digital services, cameras, cellular, and listen in technology (to hear if you're in distress). We finally feel safe again. Thanks, Link Home Security!
We have been customer of ADT
We have been customer of ADT for more than 2 decades but recently decided to switch because ADT's monthly price is just soaring through the roof! Our past monthly due used to be around $30, and now it is more around $50 or more. So I decided to shop around for other security systems and was really fortunate to find Link Interactive as an alternative. First of all, in terms of service quality and customer orientation, Link Interactive absolutely beats ADT out of the water. The initial starting equipment for Link Interactive is about $150 or so with a monthly due of $30 for monitoring service. I decided to sign up really due to the great customer service and review of the company. My personal experience started with Jose Sandoval, who was extremely professional and answered all of my questions patiently and in detail. Jose also helped me secure new sign-up discounts. The self-installation is very easy to do, and the equipment is high quality. The system is also extremely modern with remote arm/disarm and all IOT-enabled. After receiving and setting up the system, I called several times their support call. The call is always immediately put through to customer service representatives, and they are all great at what they do. The only difference is that their customer service is not 24/7 vs. ADT. I highly recommend you to look beyond ADT as the only home security service provider and try Link Interactive. You will never go back!
Ordered my system through Costco
Ordered my system through Costco. Jose with Link was outstanding. Before I purchased it I had several questions and concerns and Jose was there every step of the way. I was looking at 2 different systems, Link and one other classic (non-wireless system). They were neck to neck. One thing stood out. Jose was always there for me, when ever I emailed or called. The other company I guess was too busy.
So I liked what Link had to offered and ordered the product. Once received I read the easy instructions and started to install.
I had a few basic questions like what size drill bit to use on the recessed modules, manual states 11/16' but Link Recommended 3/4" so much easier. I had a question about an external bell/horn. I researched the one I wanted, made sure it would work, and David at Tech support said no problem. I added a couple of modules I purchased through my Home Theater Distributor. Once again David help me add them (actually he did it all). Another thing I love about Link, you can buy product to add elsewhere if you like.
I have had it installed now for two months, activated the monitoring. No issues. I checked in with the Central Office and they verified that my control panel is communicating with them.
The alarm.com web interface and cell phone app is great. I had one issue, my wife's alarm panel code didn't work after i set it. I called Link, and found out I didn't set her profile to have access to arm/disarm the panel, 1 click and I was done. Link was right there to help.
No issues with my cell phone app. Notifies you on everything.
You can set up notifications to push onto your cell phone, receive emails or text messages. Tells you what ever you want. Mine tells me when someone arms/disarms the system, leaves a window or door open more than 15 minutes (adjustable). Love this feature. Of course in test mode it goes off quite often so be aware. (alerts because you are playing with the system and testing).
I purchased extra magnets for my thin window mounts, so I can set my window open, install a magnet (two way tape) now I can leave my house with the window slightly opened and the house is still secure.
I would definitively recommend this system to anyone.
Will review again after I have monitoring on for a couple of months.
Moved into a new home
Moved into a new home and wanted to have a monitored home security system. Researched several from the big name nationals to a couple of local companies. The big name national companies had very slick sales people but the Yelp reviews that I found were less than great and a few were downright scary. Two of the local companies had 5 star reviews but the cost was significantly higher. Then I checked out Costco. They are affiliated with Link Interactive, which is a national company. They sell a do-it-yourself wireless alarm. You can make it as basic or as complex as you like. I chose something closer to the basic system. Being the least handy man on earth, I was a bit apprehensive about the DIY aspect. I was wrong to worry. It is peel and stick, very easy. And very fast. The Costco discount saves you a lot (more than covers the cost of a one year membership). The monthly monitoring is $29.99 - less than anyone else I contacted. But the cost and the ease of installation were not the best part of it. Dealing with the folks at Link is a real pleasure. When you call for support (I did mention that I am not very handy), a real person answers - not a long menu. And you speak to someone in Ogden Utah, not New Delhi. Only have it for a few weeks, but so far, I am a fan.
I purchased the system directly
I purchased the system directly through Link Interactive's 800 number via their website. I had an excellent sales experience and was able to use my existing sensors since my old security company used the same panel. Installation wasn't that difficult but I did have to read up on the panel a bit and make a couple of calls to Link Interactive tech support. Each time I called they were very helpful. They give you complete control of your system so you are free to expand it by buying affordable sensors. I love the control and ability to expand the system myself.
Overall, I like the security system
Overall, I like the security system and the support people at Link Interactive and Alarm.com. I would have rated Link at 5, but for the troublesome Skybell I bought. It rates at 3 out of 5 by consumers, and I would have to agree. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I expect reliability out of an alarm system, and the Skybell fails to deliver. Otherwise the door sensors, etc, were easy to install and setup. The outdoor camera requires being plugged into an outlet, so that required an electrician, but it seems to work as advertised. Overall a good system. If they ever get the Skybell working reliably, they will easily rate a 5 out of 5.
I just set up my alarm system with link interactive
I just set up my alarm system with link interactive and I have had a great experience with the customer service. First, I did a lot of research on home security systems. Link had the best prices, and their technology is advanced and synced to my smart phone.
I never felt pressured by Link to make a decision. I spoke with Jose Sandoval many times and he calmly answered all my questions before I made a decision.
Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ashley Coles, who did all my sensor testing remotely and stayed on the phone with me until we got it all down. She was very knowledgable and patient. When I tried out one of my alarms later in the day, I immediately got a person from the central station call through the panel and ensure everything was ok. The 2 way communication through the panel is great.
I definitely feel safe with this system, and the customer service has been stellar! I would highly recommend them - and they have the best prices with no hidden costs.
I found Link Interactive like everyone on Costco's website
I found Link Interactive like everyone on Costco's website. My contract was going to be up in a month or so, I wanted to get a head start shopping for a new alarm system. My previous alarm company could not match the price of Link Interactive monthly monitoring fees. So I decided to switch over to Link Interactive. From the sales man Trevor to Spencer in support, everyone has been very helpful. Every question I had with emails or phone calls were answered. I would highly recommend Link Interactive for your home security needs.
I did a lot of research before deciding on a home security system
I did a lot of research before deciding on a home security system. I looked into Xfinity Home, ADT, and a few other smaller outfits. I went with the Link system through Costco because it offered a great deal for the price. Link is basically an Alarm.com dealer, a cellular-based alarm and home automation system, completely wireless (except for the control panel, which needs to be plugged in). No wired sensors or professional installation necessary!
The system itself cost about $200, including the motion sensor, 3 sensors, wireless thermostat, 3 door/window sensors, smoke/heat detector, and 2 lighting modules, and is practically infinitely expandable. If you don't mind self-installation, it's a truly excellent system. Every component can be monitored through smartphone, tablet, or computer. My favorite part is the thermostat, which is every bit as good as the Nest thermostat, if not better. Maybe not as slick (not designed by Apple), but has all the functionality at a fraction of the price. It can be automated based on your (phone's) location, and can be controlled remotely.
I had one false alarm, which was my fault. But I was called and texted promptly when it happened, so now I know the system works. In short, I'm very happy so far.
Originally had ADT scheduled for an install, until the technician told me some things that changed my mind
Originally had ADT scheduled for an install, until the technician told me some things that changed my mind. I was thankful for his honesty.
Link Home Security was a breeze. Took us all of 45 minutes to install and set up our own system. Plus, I love how easy the cell phone APP is to use from anywhere in the world. I've checked in from France, Madrid and Morocco with no glitches. Customer services is great. I wouldn't change a thing.
great home alarm
great home alarm. it's the same equipment as higher priced, well established companies use. They r very patient on the phone. I Love link.
I am very happy with my new security system
I am very happy with my new security system. I ordered it through Costco.com and then found out they were in Ogden. Go figure. The system took less than an hour to install and I am now using the energy management and home automation features along with the home security.
Email conversations are promptly returned and I am surprised at how well they respond. it couldn't be easier.
They are the best
They are the best, I love the customer services and the way the system you fill safe and you know they monitoring the house in all time. Without knowing we had before reception t-mobile Bay area the company notified us and fix the problem asap
This security is top notch
This security is top notch. I will take this bill and service over all the big companies. I had some issues when I first installed and the problem was taken care of immediately. I was walked through step by step and it never felt like I was bothering them. I appreciate this level of customer service and quality with equipment . I only hope that as they get bigger they don't lose the service:) keep up the great work guys!!!
Link was by far the best option for monitoring
Link was by far the best option for monitoring. I researched the self-monitored options, but none of them guaranteed response if my power went out, my internet went down or I was out of cell service. Installation couldn't have been any easier and the panel is as easy to use as an iPhone. The best part is accessing my cameras, thermostat, door locks and lights remotely. SUPER handy when I travel (vacation or work). Best value out there for Alarm.com services. I also thought for the low price I'd get the standard customer 'no service'. NOT SO! Extremely responsive people on the phones and anytime my alarm goes off, they've responded within seconds. I looked at their A+ BBB rating before buying too. Well worth the investment of money and a little time on 1 weekend for installation.
installation instructions are very poor
installation instructions are very poor. This caused me to install, remove and install several sensors, ugh. Customer support limited to day time hours mtn time only. This is really frustrating if you work during the day and can't get through to customer service. Each time I called I was on hold for thirty minutes only in the end of waiting get a recording that I had to leave my name and they would call back.
Once you do finally reach a rep. they are helpful and friendly.
I will up date this review when I finally get the system up and running, assuming that happens.
We had ATT system installed at no cost
We had ATT system installed at no cost. Problem was the siren sounds like a smoke detector and the door chime could not be heard. We had them un-installed the system the following week. I looked on line and saw the high review for Link Home Security and that Costco was involved. Ordered the system with additional siren for a bit over $300.
Installed system in less than a hour and works GREAT, We love the features the control panel has. Far superior than ATT....
I can't say enough good things about Link Home Security
I can't say enough good things about Link Home Security. They have been nothing but professional before and after the sale. They can get you fixed up with what ever type of equipment you need to protect your family and home. I have recommended them to a lot of home owners in our area. To have access to your system with your smartphone is a great option. I had issues with mine and they were able to get it repair really quickly. A Very dependable company to do business with.
The system was extremely easy to install
The system was extremely easy to install. It took me probably less than 2 hours to get it wired up and configured. Debbie has been a pleasure to work with. She has been extremely helpful in getting my system configured and working the way i want it.
The iphone app works great, and its so easy to use. I am extremely happy with this security system so far, and its priced well.....no complains so far.
We got this system via Costco and have been very pleased
We got this system via Costco and have been very pleased. We got the 200 dollar home automation/security system and for what you get it can't be beat! It's super easy to install and it's also very easy to program. We've added a glass break sensor and another door sensor and it was simple to get them up and running.
It's alarm.com based, so we can do most everything from our mobile devices and it's nice being able to give logins to the cleaning people and relatives.
We've been very happy with Link Home Security!
We purchased our new Link Home Security system online through Costco
We purchased our new Link Home Security system online through Costco. We like it a lot more than our old ADT system. The touchpad is a good size - very easy for us to see and use. Plus it has the weather! Even though I tore my achilles tendon (playing basketball), I was still able to install the entire system in a few hours without any problems.
Based on my research, Link Home Security provides the best overall value when you consider up-front and monitoring costs. The initial cost for the system was very reasonable considering the quality of the system we purchased. Plus our home insurance costs are reduced with the system! I highly recommend this system to anyone in the home security market.
After researching three other major alarm companies
After researching three other major alarm companies I came across Link Home on a COSTCO web page.
The Link Home system through COSTCO was a far better value both for the monthly service charge as well as the cost of various components. In addition the notification options such as an iPhone App, and on line through alarm.com was superior in various notification choices.
I installed they system in a few hours. 10 door window sensors, 4 motion sensors and 7 heat, smoke and freeze detectors. Installation was very easy and when I ran into a small problem I called tech support that immediately solved the issue. I do have one "tip" When setting up the motion sensors and looking for the ideal position I used "Museum Putty" to temporarily place the sensor on the wall. It holds great and you can move it around until you are ready to screw the sensor into the wall.
The system has been activated now for several days and all aspects work great. I did run a live test too; to make sure all was working. It performs just as advertised.
In addition their customer service is the best I have ever encountered.
I have been very impressed with the level of customer service and the attention to detail including follow-up I have received from Link Home Security from everyone I have had contact with; Sales, Alarm.com, Administration and Technical support. I must say it is by far the best level of service I have ever experienced with ANY Company or Service.
I recently switched from ADT to Link
I recently switched from ADT to Link, primarily because the costs were going to be significantly less, and I was going to get greater functionality than my old ADT system provided. But after making the purchase I discovered that Link has fantastic customer service! The person I have dealt most with, Debbie, has been incredibly helpful, even offering to take my calls on Sunday, her day off, to try to help me with a tricky installation problem. When we couldn't get some of my old ADT sensors to switch over, she happily offered to accept a return of some of my unneeded equipment and credited me so that I could substitute those old sensors with new 2Gig wireless ones! So far, everyone I have dealt with at Link has been courteous, helpful and a pleasure to deal with -- a real rarity with over-the-telephone or internet businesses! I hope they are able to keep this level of service up as they grow.
