Nice and friendly people couldn't ask for anyone better
Security comes in different forms and being able to trust the security company is even more important than being able to trust the security system.
My mum's house had an ADT system in place. It needed to be repaired and the wonderful people at ADT said that they'd fix the system, if mum subscribed to monitoring. She said that she would not, and they said that they couldn't help her. Isn't that extortion?
Enter Koorsen. They were helpful on the phone and both extremely helpful at fixing problems with the system (replacing the keypad/system board, etc.) and extremely friendly. Plus, they did the work at a reasonable price, which is difficult to believe after my own experience with a security company in Florida.
I'd certainly call them without hesitation.
The pricing is a little higher, but so far, we've had a great experience, and that means a lot.

The experience was easy. My only objection is I received the written report very soon after the inspection. It only contained one portion of the building. I will make the call for the rest of it. As I did explain to our (tech of 10 plus years) we need it "all" in written form.

We have been utiziling services from Koorsen Fire for several years now and have never been let down. They are always courteous and provide excellent care and attentiveness. We have been impressed by them so much, we switched from Tyco Security to Koorsen Security for our alarm system.
Koorsen is usually on the spot quickly when I call. I understand the busy schedules from each customer they have and also know every job don't happen as quick as everyone wants it done which is now or yesterday.

Need better communication between departments . Tried to set up to do the sprinkler , back flow , fire and extinguishers all in same day was fiasco !
Called and evidently new work order system scheduled time not techs ??
Then the next time the guys came out to do everything and I ask ok where the extinguisher guy ?? Had to wait on him . Then had 2 back flows over looked that were in a pit ..No pit equipment to repair .. Yet another appointment and then no one said system was going to need on stand by until they walked in an hour early and it ended up setting off alarm ..
I have 2 properties this is second time I have had issues with the back flows and them not being equipped to go in pit . The other was a repair at Hendricks Pointe they got their and said no one told them it was in a pit .. Communication needs to be better ..
did not appreciate tech performing annual inspection and then making summary recommendations with copy to Fire Department without discussing with me. As a result, IF any of the work recommended is performed, you can be sure Koorsen will not be doing the work.
First of all, I did not like the idea of signing the technicians phone after the initial contact without seeing what I was signing for. Second, the technician was not totally clear on the procedure of taking my extinguishers to be tested etc. and then returning them later. I had gotten the impression, he was leaving old extinguishers for my newer ones. After repeated calls, the technician at last brought them back after more than two weeks. The technician was polite in his dealings with me. The office personnel were also polite. One person even offered to deliver the extinguishers herself. Your company took over the local company that I had some experience with in which this activity never occurred before. Hope this was helpful.
Koorsen came out 2 years ago to service our 20 Fire Extinguishers, which we had previously paid approx. $ 200 per year to local firefighter organization. They did not tell us how much it would be, and we ended up being billed over $ 1300. When we refused to pay they threatened us and offer a compromise of $ 2000 for a 5 year contract. Note, this is for only 20 10 lb. fire extinguishers. But to meet our insurance obligations we complied.
This year, as we did last year, we pulled all the units, had them ready at the door for the technician, All he had to do was service. He asked. "is there anything he could do for us, and I said would you put this one new hanger up for us and guess what, it came with a hefty $ 12 bill later for one screw and 10 seconds of work. We will continue to honor our contract, but Koorsen has a license to steal, I hope future small businesses will not get taken, like us, to the cleaners.
The overall install of our dry sprinkler system looks good. However, the pipe that was used keeps having tiny holes appear which has resulted in the replacement of the air compressor twice as it couldn't keep up with the loss of air though the thin walled pipe Koorsen installed for the dry system. If it had been quality pipe, thicker walled, I suppose we would have had few issues. (We use the stainless steel patches when there's a leak.) But, just last week, the main water supply that enters the building developed a pin hole leak in the same, albeit much larger, black pipe. That's going to require a plumber. A few years ago there was a power outage due to a storm. I called Koorsen asking how long our system would hold air and they said probably about three days at the most, at least two. It didn't last a day. Water was allowed to enter the lines and it traveled to one of the pin-holes and we had water damage. Too bad for us. Over time, with all the air loss and the common phone calls from Koorse's Monitoring System, it became apparent that the system needed a low air pressure monitor attached to tell us and them when it was low air causing a signal to be sent to them and then having them call me in the early morning hours. It wasn't an expensive part and should have been installed when the system was originally installed. I did ask one of their guys why that wasn't done that way. He said it was all a part of the bidding process, keeping costs low. If I had known then the many times I'd be gotten out of bed I would have paid for one myself. We also had a small boy activate the alarm one day using one of the pulls. That resulted in all of them having to be replaced. Seems there was an issue with them as well. Then, there was the time there was a leak in a line at a joint that caused damage to a ceiling tile. (Such tiles are great for letting it be known there's a leak.) Anyway; that leak showed up because the angle of the pipe line allowed for water to settle there. That made it rust and caused the leak, apparently. I called Koorsen and they sent out a guy to fix it at our expense even though it was obvious there was an installation problem. I called and asked about that. The guy I spoke to, and I didn't write down his name, said that Koorsen didn't do installation. I knew then there was a real disconnect between the various parts of the company at that very moment. I could go on about this company but that should be enough to give you pause to be sure to ask for a bid from another company if you ever need a full system installed or need someone to maintain and service your system. This company, in my opinion, is not an A+ company.

My family and I decided to go with Vivint and we could not be happier, the gentleman that came to the house was very nice and full of knowledge, I read every detail of the agreement and everything matched up to what I was told. They covered all the equipment and we could not feel any more secure having the doorbell camera and the app on the phone!

Vivint is pretty good and I was skeptical. First off, I was approached by a door to door salesman. He was very professional and not pushy in the least. Best of all, he didn't lie to me. I found some bad reviews and brought them to his attention and he acknowledged them and let me know that they were usually people trying to get out of their contract early OR local technicians who are subcontracted. This is exactly what I had read, so I decided to go with the service.
I'm about a year into the service and I love it. The people monitoring have contacted me through the panel in a matter of minutes and I get text messages, emails and phone calls when the alarm goes off. It is impossible for me to miss strange occurrences.
The equipment has held up as well. Nothing has broken.
I integrated my NEST thermostat recently and it works great with their software.
Also, they update their software fairly often, which is a great plus.
Now on to the negatives. They are a little pricey, but you do get a lot of stuff and I find it worth the cost.
The reviews about the local contracted technicians is ABSOLUTELY true. You WILL have a rough time if you need someone to come to your home. It took 5 attempts to get someone to my home for a simple update to the firmware update (which turned into a wall panel replacement). I did not receive a visit, a phone call, a cancellation, NOTHING. It was the most frustrating experience I've ever had.
Like I said, I haven't had any equipment break, just the firmware issue, so hopefully you won't need an onsite technician.

We've had Vivint Security for a year. We had to contact Vivint once because the front door would not lock from app or keypad, the technician walked me through how to change the battery on the door lock quickly & professionally. We've had no issues with equipment, billing, or Service. They were quick to respond the one time our alarm was accidentally set off.
I personally like my alarm system. The ability to use it anywhere and set up custom actions for my convenience is great. The customer service reps that I dealt with were knowledge and helpful.
I replaced my old system with Vivint several months ago. The sales reps were great, informative, and professional. I called a couple of times with questions, and they were courteous and walked me through.Jan. wall mount went blank. Trued to fix over phone. Had to send out a tech. Also camers kept loosing wi fi. Tech said the installer used oldd systems wiring and caused it to lose connection. He ran new wire and fixed it, however. I was charged $49 for your error. Did not appreciate that. Overall satisfied.
Any issue I have had was quickly resolved. Our local support technician is vey prompt and professional.
I have had A Vivent security system for around 6 months. I have had a couple of minor equipment issues with an outdoor camera not connecting and a doorbell camera not working. Both cameras were replaced. I have found that the doorbell camera will stop working when the temperature falls below a certain point. Other than that I have no issues with the company. But their equipment is a little on the sub-par side.
We have been protected by Vivint for close to two years now. We are very happy thus far with the equipment and the customer support. We have, thank goodness never had to test their responsiveness.
Being able to lock/unlock a door remotely has been very useful on a number of occasions. I prefer to sleep in a much cooler room and find it a wonderful thing to be able to turn up the temperature before I crawl out of bed in the morning and be able to turn on the light in a dark room, all from the comfort from my bed.
Their apps are continually more responsive and easier to use. They are always adding more services that are easily added on and do not result in a higher monthly payment.
Vivint has been very responsive to any issues that have arisen. We are pleased with the system and the company.
Extremely pleased with Vivint. Have installed several monitoring systems including cameras. Local service reps are great. Only one instance that would be negative. Young man last summer came by and asked about our neighbors. We provided names of our neighbors. Next door neighbor had mentioned looking into alarm system. Young man kept coming even very late at night to talk to her. System was installed but we did not receive referral fee. Rep from UT called me regarding renewing at current price. Told him about neighbor; looked her up and gave me credit.

I have experience positive interactions with Vivint, each person going out of their way to assist the two times I called. I was treated with respect and educated as I learned the system. The alarm system is easy to activate and disarm with very low maintenance. I do not need an office to go in an visit and Vivint has only been a quick phone call away. I am very satisfied with this business.
We have had vivint for about 4 months now and have had no complaints. They are on top of issues if one should arrive and respond very quickly. My dads house would have burned down if it wasn't for vivint's customer services quick actions.
Mostly satisfied with our Vivint services. We ran into a few problems, but were able to fix them ourselves via the Vivint YouTube channel and our knowledge of electronics & technolgy.

I had received an offer for Vivant with my new purchase of the home. The installation was done by two very professional workers. So far I have felt good about my decision to purchase this security system. I pray it continues to work accurately and inexpensively for me at the current rate I am paying.
