We previously had a "laundry center" - one of those small, already stacked washer/dryer combos, and when it died, I thought we would have to get the same model as that would be the only thing that fit in our single wide laundry closet. To our wonderful surprise, this stackable fits perfectly and was a much better investment than the tiny one we had. It's very quiet! I often can't even tell it's running and our laundry closet is 3 ft from our bed (in our 1 bdrm condo). Plus it uses way less water, doesn't tear my clothes up with an impeller, and looks sleek and modern. Home Depot installation crew was also super efficient!View More Reviews
I love the high capacity of this washer. It uses less water than my old top loader. It's very quiet and when the cycle is over, it sings me a little tune. Very nice altogether!
This washer is just amazing! It was just delivered today from Home Depot and I immediately did 3 loads of clothes once the service guy installed it. My clothes came out looking and smelling amazing!!! I was so happy. My face just just lit up with excitement as I folded my beautifully cleaned clothes. This is the first time me and my mom owned a front-load washer. I was sick of the top load designs. It's embarrassing how excited I am about a washer but this one is so awesome. I can't wait to wash even more clothes.
We went in to the store originally planning to buy a top load washer with an standard agitator and a new dryer. As we spoke with the sales person about the advantages and disadvantages of the top loader, we asked about the other types of washers, and began to look at front loaders. The Samsung pair impressed us. We ended up spending within our budget for this high quality machine pair. So far we love it. In addition to our regular laundry, we have been washing items like quilts and big bedding things that we usually take to the Laundromat. Things come out clean. All the settings take a little getting used to, but if using the correct setting the really bad wrinkling we were warned about with using front load washers (because of the spin speed) doesn't happen. We love it!
I have no complaints on this product so far, granted I have only had for a few days, this washer seems to be one of the best I have bought so far. I love all the features. The washer seems to have a little vibration, however I believe it is due to my floor, you can see my floor bow down where the feet are located as it spins around. I plan on getting a solid piece of plywood to sit on top of my floor to reinforce it. So far any issues I have had are due to issues outside of the manufactures controls, only my landlords : )
Washes great. Don't like the fact you have to leave door open to keep it from mildewing. Like things neat and tidy and it doesn't look that way with door open. Hate having to keep going back to check that it is dry enough inside to close. It is my understanding that it is that way with any frontload washer though. Also another just me thing but I hate the smell of the plastic door and rubber around the opening where the door closes. My sense of smell is highly sensitive. Love the features especially the my save one. Use it mostly.
The washer going full tilt is very quiet and the dryer is equally as quiet. The washer is very spacious and cleans very well. The dryer has a sensor that prevents you from over drying your clothes but if you want to over dry them it’s possible to override the sensor. Also the dryer can be hooked up to a water line to have a steam cycle. I don’t have to tell you that Samsung is top of the line with electronics. Even after the cycle is done (washer and dryer) they play a little tune to indicate the cycle is done, not like the old laundry mats annoying BUZZZZ when they are done.
I have to say, Samsung products some how always seem to continue to progress into the new age with the old-time reliability. Built to last with a user friendly facade and effortless operation, just hook up and go! I would definitely recommend this to a friend and my loved ones, because I love clean laundry like no other and this washer does an amazing job with a delicate cycle for your most prized and literally you're most delicate articles of clothing. I give it a two thumbs up and a definite steal! Take care everyone and happy washing (^.^)!
Our old washer failed and after talking to friends and store employees, we decided to purchase this washer. We are a family of 6 and there are a lot of loads to wash. The washer is very quiet and can handle multiple bedding loads (important with little kids). I wish that the washer was a little taller. The door is pretty low and the drum is deep. I guess that the pedestal could be purchased to help with the issue but I am hesitant to spend more right now. Might check in later with more information about this model after we have used it for awhile.
This is my third washing machine since becoming a "grown up". The other 2 were top loaders. This one is my first front loading machine, and I don't think a wash day goes by that I don't say at least once how much I love this washing machine! Honestly! My family will tell you that I like to pull up a chair and watch the beginning of each cycle because it just makes me so happy! It cleans our clothes like a dream, is whisper quiet, and even sings a little tune at the end of each cycle. My mother told me I couldn't properly purchase a washing machine without seeing it in person. I picked this out through a search online and couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. So there, Mom! Haha. Fantastic washer!
I applaud Samsung for voluntarily recalling Top Load Washing machines. The rebate is reasonable. I bought another Samsung Washer because this model received good reviews and I got a additional $150 back if I bought a Samsung. I bought a Front Load Model this time. So far seems to work well and is much quieter than the top loader ever was. I hope that Samsung appreciates a second chance on my list of products I trust. Keep on the task -by improving products, voluntary recalls, rebates that are fair to all and responding to customer complaints courteously.
Compared to my 20 year-old front loader that uses about 25 gallons per load, this machine barely gets the clothes wet, yet they come out just as clean, and preposterously dry. It uses so little water that the discharge hose has been reduced in size. After spinning, many items can be hung up indoors to dry quickly without a dryer. Also, while my older washer cleaned a smaller load, it can vibrate significantly during the spin cycles. This machine barely trembles while spinning at over 1000 rpm, and quietly I might add. The electronic controls take some getting used to if you grew up with knobs and fewer options, so studying the user's manual is recommended.
We have been using this washer for about a month and so far it has met all expectations. We use pods so we don't use the dispensers and everything has been great - clothes very clean. We also use it to wash horse laundry and it is better than our last more expensive model. Like the idea of not having so many choices in cycles. I have found that most of those don't work well anyway. This is more a basic model and it does very well.
All I can say is how good it washes, all kinds of things. Pillows, large blankets, small loads and normal. The functions have it all. Don't have to go through the entire cycle to get spin only, rinse only, etc. I was surprised the door is not convertible to open from either side. Don't know if you can specify direction when you order it. But all-in-all I am very satisfied and recommend it even for the high end consumer.
I recently bought this washer to replace a competitor product. I must admit I was iffy on the purchase due to the top load recall. However, I must say I am in love with it! I never have a problem getting anything clean in it, which is a huge plus since my husband is a mechanic so his clothes get pretty nasty. Once my dryer bites the dust I will be replacing it with a Samsung one!
This washer is so quiet and gets my clothes really clean! I am so happy with it so far. I can tell that it uses much less water than my last machine and it spins much more of the water out so that the clothes come out just a little bit damp. I'm impressed, but I should have known that I'd love it - my mom and sister both have the same machine and love them!
I bought this to replace a 6 yr old front load washer. Wasn't going to replace with front loader but already had the pedestals and the price was so good, I decided to give them one more try. Much happier with this one. Guess in the 6 yrs they've worked out some kinks....much quieter.
wonderful wonderful from the first click to the first load go home depot go home depot delivery service go Samsung go!
had the washer fo a week now and so far its great. my water usage is way down and so is my power usage as well. Im in a household of 4 with two children and I work in the coal mining industry and as of right now clothes are cleaner than ever couldnt be more pleased.
I absolutely LOVE my Samsung dryer! I had a W/D set for 15 years with no issues at all. When I moved I purchased a different brand W/D on the recommendation of a store employee. I returned it within a week & bought my Samsung W/D & couldn't be happier!
Just a couple of weeks ago we purchased a new washer; a different brand. We returned it because I caught myself rewashing items twice and they still were not clean. I researched washers, not wanting a front load. Never had one before and I have had a couple washers through-out my life. From the research, I decided on the Samsung frontload. One of the features I particularly like is the spin rate. My clothes come out feeling damp, not wet. No more 'twice around in the dryer'. Better yet, I only have to wash the laundry one time to get clean! This includes those nasty smelling, dirty dog blankets and rugs. Seeing is believing and doing is proof. I won't trade my Samsung frontload !
After our topload being recalled I was leary about buying another samsung, but we loved the first one so. This machine is incredibly quiet. It seems to use very little water and still gets everything clean even with 3 kids under 8.
This washer does an amazing job at getting the clothes clean. I haven't even pretreated stains and they come right out. It is light years above my old washer. I have only had it a month, so I"m hoping it stands the test of time.
Bought this washer and got it home started using it right away. Love the preset settings and ease of features. Quiet and runs great. The only draw back is you cannot swap the door like most machines.
Great washer, easy to use, lots of cycle choices. Washes well. I leave the door open when not in use and that seems to help with mildew/smell problem I've seen others have issues with.
When running the allergen cycle, it requires a little more than twice the time of my old washer. It does, however, remove every trace of pet dander; I just need to learn patience.
WOW I must say I thought my clothes were getting clean before. YIKES makes me want to take all my clothes out of dresser and rewash them all. My blankets feel lighter and fluffy like they did when I first purchased them. This washer is amazing I can not wait to get things dirty so I can wash them. Going camping and working in the yard will not be a bothersome anymore, knowing my clothes are going to come so clean. Wish I had this when my kids were little cause god knows I needed one bad back them.
We have really enjoyed this washer so far. We keep the door and the detergent drawer open when done to prevent odors and retained moisture.
Love this washer as a new home owner. Washer does a fabulous job for my household. Love the quick wash for small loads.
Samsung has become a brand that is building reliable equipment, technology, consumer products, etcetera.
Love my new washer, very simple and works great! I've never experienced an issue with Samsung brand!
nothing but totally happy with the setup and operation of our Samsung front load washer
This washer has features that are easy to use and it is very water efficient.
So far, this washer fits description, performs as expected.
Quick, quiet cycles
Love my new washer! Very, very quiet. On delivery, the washer was not, and is still not, balanced. We were given a little tool and told we'd have to balance it ourselves :(
Take out the shipping bolts! They don't tell you about them when they set up the machine and the installation instructions are not as clear as they could be. There are three of them that must be removed from the rear of the machine before you use it. It makes the difference between a loud, shaking, horrid banging that makes the laundry room sound like an airplane is taking off and a quiet, reliable, quality washer. I've had the washer about a month. It works great, is easy to use, and cleans clothing well.
I just got the washer and it seems to work fine. Seems to me with all the new features and inovations that it could be easier to level.
I'm happy with the way this washer functions after the first few uses but I can't see the screen. I have the washer and dryer stacked but the screens tilt upward so I can't actually read that or the buttons. I'm 5'5" and have to use a stool. It's bad design in my opinion!
This review is especially for people who have complaints about vibration. A number of users have complained that the machine vibrates too much and even moves around on the floor. I wonder whether any of those people checked to see whether "shipping bolts" had been removed from the back of this washing machine? It these are not removed, machine will vibrate (and may be damaged). My story: I did NOT realize that there were three huge shipping bolts in back (they looked like a regular part of the machine) -- that needed to be removed. Without removal, the machine will vibrate like crazy and move around on the floor (and the interior of the machine may be damaged -- these bolts are holding the outer part of the drum in place, whereas normally it "floats" and absorbs the vibration from the spinning interior drum.) I was appalled at the vibration of our new machine, and had to stop it mid-cycle of its first use. I then called the Samsung tech support to request service / repair -- and they asked about the shipping bolts. Once I removed the bolts all was fine, the machine was very quiet and did a great job. Incidentally, with this machine just as with any front load machine, it is important to level it -- using level on all four corners of machine to double check that all is perfectly level. Then it should stay that way -- leveling is also important to avoid excess vibration. But in my case, the problems were entirely due to shipping bolts still in place.
This washer has many features I didn't even know I cared about. I have been impressed by all the things it can do. There are a few drawbacks, however: 1) a "normal" wash cycle takes an estimated 1 hour, which is longer than any other washer I've ever used (normally around 1/2 hour), 2) good luck washing a pair of shoes (you *might* be able to get it to work if you throw some other items, but a top-load washer is more likely to succeed at it).
Very quiet! Works fantastic! My clothes come out clean and fresh. Very durable. Great bright display!
The washer is fairly simple to operate. I only use 2 cycles, so it was easy to program the cycle I use most into a short-cut button. The washer is amazingly quiet in operation. It is VERY heavy and it was hard to unbox. There is one handle in the left side and one in the right side. It would be MUCH better if there were two on each side. It is slick and hard to grip. Having the filter clean-out access door in the front is a GREAT feature. Any front loader needs periodic filter cleaning. This access door make that an easy DIY project. I think this will extend the useful life of the product. My previous FL washer lasted 15 years.
While the feature set for this washer isn't noteworthy, what you do get for the price seems worth it. I've only had the washer for a short while so there is a quality check that can't be performed yet but, so far, it's been as solid as my Samsung dryer. The only reason I haven't given this a 5 star review is due to the need to monitor the performance over time. Should this washer maintain the current experience, I will revise my review to include the missing star. Otherwise, I will reduce the number of stars, say mean things in my follow up and likely complain about a number of unrelated frustrations in my life. Just setting expectations...
This washer is pleasing to look at and easy to use with many features. With ability to pack multiple laundry baskets in one load, it is a bit larger at the base then older models. I just moved into a new home which has a washer basin and this model just fits in a standard size. Water hookups and drain tube are all conveniently placed. The bonus, it has handles on the side for lifting/moving (Keep your drum locks!). It is quite but not the quietest on the market. You can program you own cycle if any of the cycles it comes with don't suit.
This washer has all the features needed for a great appliance.
I don't understand the smart care feature. Frankly, I think its silly. The washer does not use a lot of water. Something to think about if you need to see water splashing. You won't see it with this machine, unless you use the delicate cycle. The alert sounds are annoying, but you can just shut those off. My clothes smell clean. I haven't had any really dirty clothes to test the washers ability to remove them. So I can't attest to how well it cleans heavily soiled clothes. Ive only had the machine for a couple weeks. Over all I would recommend it. Its quiet and has a really great spin. The clothes are almost dry.
Purchased at $499 during a year end online sale. Have seen the same model advertised for $799 elsewhere. Rated 4 stars based on only have had the washer for one week now. Would give 5 stars based on purchase price and purchase experience. The capacity is more than adequate for my three person family, it looks great, it's quiet, and I've enjoyed the flat top surface as a new workspace for prep and folding. I was a little surprised with the duration of the cleaning cycle, it seems to be between 1:15 and 1:35 depending on the cycle settings. I am also surprised with how little water is used during the cleaning cycles. At the end of the day, my cloths have been cleaned well, its quiet, and it looks good. I'm now considering the matching dryer. Hope they hold up...my first experience with Samsung appliances. And......I had a Note 7 and still bought this washer, don't let me down Samsung.
Too Little water!
Not completely happy with machine. When spinning, it's loud and feels as if it's about to break. Will call for service..
Washing machine vibrates excessively and then leaks water all over the floor. The vibrating will actually shake my whole house. We have balanced it numerous times, even after the professionals installed it. Always measures correctly. Then I run it and the shaking begins again. We have cleaned the filter and drained the bottom drain hose. Yet this still continues to happen. I gave this machine two stars because it does clean my clothes well. Just every now and then, all the water leaks on the floor. This never happened with my old washer.
Too finicky. Clothes are terribly wrinkled, often stuck to the back of the tub. Machine vibrates easily. Had repair person to fix. Told I needed to pick correct cycle and load properly. I'm 62, have had other machines without this trouble.
Our Samsung washer sprung a leak out of the bottom/front after only 1.5 years of use. A repairman came and observed a design flaw; the bolt holding the clamp on was insufficiently long, and could not be tightened. He was shocked that the entire boot hadn't fallen out, causing massive flooding on my hardwood floor. Samsung customer service refused to acknowledge this design flaw, and claimed that I am responsible for repairs, if it is repairable. Disappointing experience with Samsung product and customer service.
Our washer ceased operating properly less than two weeks after it was installed. Machine provides error codes that stop wash half-way through due to improper water flow/pressure. Water pressure checked, hoses replaced. Repair guy has visited three times replacing, valves, computer board, etc. Now waiting on 4th repair visit and six weeks later and all we can do is use the rinse and spin cycle. From what I understand, this is a design flaw that Samsung is aware of and may be not be fixable. Second Samsung, first lasted 6 years. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER - unless you like appliances that don't function and enjoy piles of dirty clothes.
Purchased this disapointing machine last week. There is a definite design problem with this model. It vibrates, shakes and dances all over the floor. It has been leveled by the store's technicians to no avail. It is going back to the store as soon as my new LG arrives.
Purchased this washer to replace a 10 year old LG. This brand new unit will not spin the clothes without first slamming around, then trying to rebalance, then slamming again, etc... This actually moves the unit over the floor, whereas the LG never moved in 10 years. It seems to me that things have been "undersized" to save $, and software is used instead to try rebalancing 4 to 5 times. My bet - machine will not last 4 years. Wish we had not bought this washer.
This washer has destroyed 4 shirts. There is no true delicate setting on this washer, even on the lowest settings, I have torn apart 4 shirts. Delicate means nothing on this washer, at best all of my clothes are in a huge knot that takes 15 minutes to untangle and the wrinkles do not go away with the matching dryer. I have gone from using a dorm laundry room to laundromats, to a starter home washer and dryer from the 80's - this is the first washer and dryer I have purchased and I regret it every time I do the wash - buy any other washer, any other washer and dryer.
This washer has only been installed for three weeks and we are already on our second service call. The washer hasn't worked right since fhe first wash. Parts have had to be replaced and now the machine is having the same problems and not spinning. Home Depot will not take the produce back, even though it is less than three weeks installed because, stating we need to go through the warranty service to have it "fixed" again. I should not have to have a brand new appliance "fixed"! Home Depot should immediately arrange for an exchange. I am very dissatisfied.
I had a top load matching washer and dryer, but due to the recall, I had to replace it. Now since the top loads are being recalled, we decided to get a front load (wife is not happy about it at all). I used to like Samsung products, my phone was a Samsung, my TV was a Samsung...... but I'm not sure if I want to continue being loyal to this brand, given all the grievance it has caused me! I hope Samsung makes things right by at least processing my refund correctly. I gave this product 1 star all around (except the design, which I gotta admit, it looks cool) because I just got it. I will come back in a month or two to edit my review.
Purchased this unit along with its stackable partner in Fall of 2014. Both worked quite well until it would no longer power on in Dec 2016. Being an electrical engineer my educated guess was that the interface board was no longer functioning. Called the warranty company with which I had a 5 year plan with. Over the course of 3+ weeks they would set up a repair company and then I would be 'stood up', happened with 3 different companies. Finally the 4th company came out just to tell me the interface board or relay have gone bad and he will order the parts. They will not be available to fix the machine until mid January 2017. That puts us out of a washer for over a month. In summary; beware of this unit and more importantly the appliance warranty company HD works with - absolute nightmare. I made it very clear the unit was a Samsung stacked unit but it took them 4 repair companies to work on it, let alone my multiple days off work waiting for them to show.
We Wash a load less than once a week. Bought it in January 2013 January 2017. Repairmen said circut board went out. He told me parts would be $538 before labor. We gave him the honor of listening us purchasing a NEW Westinghouse over over over phone from Home Depot.
Bought this washer with a matching dryer and immediately noticed a very loud rattle inside the drum and the washer shook like crazy! Very loud and annoying. Had to have service out 3 times before one repairman found the drum to be warped. Had machine replaced with a new one and it does the same thing! Luckily I bought it through Home Depot and they are graciously taking both the washer and dryer back with a full refund. Product is terrible - Home Depot is not!
The washer worked perfect for the first 2 months. After the second month, the washer started leaking water whenever I set it to bedding. Even though it was just a small blanket, the water still leaked. My garage was flooded with water every time I washed the blanket. Contacted Samsung but the wait time was more than an hour. Now I regretted that I bought Samsung Washer. Will not recommend this Samsung washer to anyone. Samsung Washer model WF42H5000AW.
I just bought this washer. Because it's on the second floor, I had a wash pan under it for protection against flooding. It vibrates tremendously and moves the washer at least 1 inch. Before I purchased the product, I asked the salesperson how much does it vibrate. The salesperson said new washers nowadays don't vibrate. I can't use the vibration dampener because I have a wash pan under the washer. Now I can't return the product because it's non-returnable.
The Samsung WF42H5000AW washer lasted just over 2 years of light use for my wife and me, before it started vibrating violently during spin. The first technician, EE Fix, tore it apart, said he ordered parts, repeatedly rescheduled return with parts for a month-and-a-half. Finally called Samsung for contact with another service organization. New technician found a cracked drum, and with no service contract, the repair would be $750, $300 more than we paid for it. Now we still have the dryer, which won't stack on another brand.
We bought this washer and it has been a total nightmare. It has been broken for a month - Samsung has sent out a repairman 3 times and it is still not working. Now they have been telling me for a week that they are reviewing our case and will let us know what they are going to do. Meanwhile, we are paying to wash our clothes for a family of four with 5 pets at a laundromat. Do not buy this washer - customer service at Samsung is non existent. I am a very patient person but this has been a nightmare.
I bought this set because I needed stackables in the new home I just bought. First, when the set was delivered, they were unable to install because I was not aware you had to buy a stacking kit. After the set was installed with the stacking kit, I put my first load of laundry in and went on my way. When the washer initiated the spin cycle, it sounded like an earthquake was occurring throughout my entire house. After much troubleshooting, it still sounds as if my washer is about to take flight out of my house every time the spin cycle runs. Would not recommend to anyone and I feel like my money was wasted.
Unfortunately, this washer broke on my 5th load of laundry, giving me an "AE6" error, which according to the user manual means a communication error between the two logic boards. The door stayed locked, and I had to manually drain out the water from a hose near the bottom. I called Samsung support and we are working on replacing the parts through the warranty service. However, I have had this unit for over three weeks, and they have still be unable to fix the correct part. Really a big disappoint and pain that this machine had fatal errors just days old and now I am in the wonderful world of warranty tech support. Regret buying this machine.
