I struggled with this refrigerator purchase a LOT. We moved into our new house in December of 2015 and needed new appliances (specifically a refrigerator and W/D.) As an engineer I tend to overanalyze things like this. It turns out that EVERY refrigerator model out there has negative reviews about it - like, nightmare product/customer service sorts of reviews (at least one or two). Just the way it is. And those were stuck in my mind. (Side note: when it came to the W/D, I was so sick of reading reviews and just wasn't willing to fork out the money for a Miele set, that I just went to the sales guy and said "what would you buy?" and got those.) So ultimately we bought this refrigerator because I liked the looks/functionality and it had fewer negative reviews than pretty much every other model that I was interested in. (Plus, the stainless steel was a close enough match to our GE Café series "stuff" installed by the builder. That maybe sounds dumb if you haven't looked at them closely, but LG's stainless "sheen" is a bit different for example.) And as it turns out, I can't comment on Samsung's customer service - I just haven't had a need to talk to them. The thing just runs. Oh sure, I'd like if it dispensed crushed ice a bit faster, and sometimes it squeaks a bit when it's crushing the ice. And yes, I'd prefer the "hey, shut the door" alarm be a little louder. I also wish I'd learned sooner that you could remove the metal-bar divider in the center drawer. Yes, it shows fingerprints. No the front isn't magnetic (that's a good thing IMHO.) We also had to adapt our product placement habits to its shelf layout. But when all is said and done, 1 year and 4 months later, it ain't (really) sexy, but it just keeps running and doing what it is supposed to do. But here's one thing: we have two consumer-grade Kitchen Aid refrigerators at work purchased at about the same time. I HATE how when you shut one side of the French doors that the other one will often pop open a little (often going unnoticed until the alarm goes off). This one hasn't ever done that (to the best of my memory.) Also, I haven't measured energy consumption on it. I really don't know what it's using. I guess it just is what it is. It's not like I'm going to go buy a different one to replace it because the energy guide was maybe off by X amount. So other than looking cool and seemingly being easier to clean, I don't know if the "metal cooling" stuff was worth the extra money. I also haven't really tracked if the dual-compressor setup is making our fresh foods (eg fruits and veggies) last longer or not, but I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if they weren't lasting as long, and that definitely hasn't happened. So here I am giving it a 5 star review. It's not perfect, but I doubt any of them are. But it's close enough for my needs. I honestly think the biggest negative I can say about it is that it took maybe 3 days (or more?) to find all of the protective plastic films (assuming we've found them all) that you're supposed to remove. I'll simply say that I'd buy it again without hesitation. Maybe this helps you, maybe it doesn't.
This nice big refrigerator is a great looking appliance, especially in the black stainless steel. It is named showcase refrigerator and you can tell why once you open up the french doors. You get this wide look into it with LED lighting just pops everything out at you. The metal cooling gives it a really cool look. The flex zone drawer also with metal cooling is a nice storage of items ready to be served. Water and ice or crushed ice in the door is nice, would have great if it had been measured dispensing. But we love it just the same. A little high in price but it is the latest and greatest.
We've only had this refrigerator for a few days but so far, we are loving every bit of it! I think our kiddos are as equally excited about the new features and overall design as we are! Our prior fridge was a Samsung and honestly, it had issues but overall, we love Samsung appliances. So after much review, we decided on this snazzy model. We love the middle flex zone drawer and quickly filled it with all the things the kids typically snack on like cheeses, deli meats and yogurt. It's so convenient having those items all in one spot that's easily accessible. We're also enjoying the food showcase door. This model definitely has the features we wanted to help keep all the contents organized!
Though we have only had this appliance for a couple of weeks, we are very pleased with the purchase. It's a bit pricey, but we purchased during a holiday sale and received a good deal. We especially like the middle drawer feature which allows you to store cans of soda or snacks or other items which you get into often. We actually chill white wine (laying then down) in this drawer and the adjustable metal bars are perfect in keeping the bottles of wine from sliding around. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a feature packed refrigerator that's as beautiful in your kitchen as functional.
I have not had this refrigerator for very long about 3 weeks. I am very pleased with it at this point. I really love the door in front for condiments, very handy. The ice cubes are the best as they freeze solid. I have not had a ice maker that did this well. I wish there was more room for taller things but if you remove one shelf it solves that problem otherwise just leave the one they have in as it goes back half way. I bought the extra coverage for this one as in the past I have always had trouble with other refrigerators and Home Depoe has a great deal for coverage. So far I love everything about this model of refrigerator.
Extremely pleased with refrigerator and delivery guys were very professional. Have had it for about a month with no issues. Really like the accessibility, lighting and roominess. After researching various models and manufacturers, we chose Samsung through Home Depot. From our experience so far we feel we made the right choice.
Love this fridge. Fits all of our food perfectly, sleek design and love the black stainless look! The additional drawer offers more space and added convenience. I'm not a fan of a bottom freezer usually, but this one is different. Is has so much space that it's easy to keep things organized. Very happy.
We remodeled our kitchen last summer and replaced all the appliances with new Samsung black stainless steel, except the refrigerator. We really love the Samsung dishwasher, gas range, and over the range microwave. We purchased the matching refrigerator last week and it was delivered today. Our new kitchen looks amazing and the new Samsung refrigerator is awesome. It's crazy, but we transferred everything from the old refrigerator (it was full) to the new, same size refrigerator, and it's half empty. Plus you can see everything stored inside so, hopefully food won't go bad because we forgot it was in there. We love our Samsung appliances and this refrigerator is the bomb.
My son has owned the same fridge for a year and we've always loved the features.
Our old refrigerator died after 20 years and we had to buy another one. We liked the looks of the Samsung but we had never heard of them making refrigerators. The salesman said that they sell a lot of them so we took a chance and bought one. So far we absolutely love it. We had a side by side before and this time we got one with the freezer on the bottom. It is so much nicer and bigger. It makes it easy to get things out of freezer now. It is very quiet when it is running. Also we are really liking the outer door to get things we use a lot without having to open up the big door. The ice cubes seem to freeze harder then in out old machine.
This Frig takes a little getting use too. The factory settings, 0 freezer and 37 in the Frig work great. We use the middle drawer for drinks and meats. Had this Frig for 3 weeks now. There is one thing you need to know is the door in the door needs to be pushed tight every time you close it, for a couple of weeks, it seems to make the gasket seal better, so if you notice condensation than you know why, everything else works to perfection. Oh, an the ice maker, no problems yet.......Hope this will be our last Frig, I'm 63 and wanted the grand children to get the drinks from the middle drawer and it works... This is only my 5th Frig.by the way
Much like the other reviews I read, my wife and I are very pleased with this appliance. The Showcase door is extremely convenient, as we tend to keep the most frequently used groceries in this door. The interior lighting is very bright and has a very sophisticated look. Another key perk is the flex zone that can be used for a variety of purposes. This drawer has 4 different temps; wine, deli/snacks, cold drinks, meat/fish. The depth of the drawer easily holds full boxes of Caprisun or other similar kid drinks. The ice maker took approximately 6 hours to make the first batch of ice. The installer accidentally deactivated the ice maker, but with a simple press of a button we were all set. As directed we dumped the first two batches of ice and have yet to run out.
This looks beautiful in the kitchen. Love the slightly darker (not black) color!! The amount of room in this is more than it looks when you first open it. Once you start placing all your food items inside you realize how spacious this is. The freezer is quite spacious as well. I have never had this style and it looked like it might not hold everything from my side by side freezer/fridge, but it did, with room to spare. Also the flex drawer is great and the divider inside worked out nicely.
Absolutely love the design. Roomy, classy and easy to organize. The third door is so handy to just grab a bottle of water or Gatorade. With two teenage boys I can never seem to have enough milk. Now I have room enough to hold 4 gallons. I keep one in the door, and the 3 extra on the flip up shelf. The freezer/frig drawer is wonderful for storing soda, cheese, meat for the weekly menu and even lunches for the next day. The black stainless is easy to keep clean and doesn't show fingerprints. Yippee!!! For 28 years I have always had a side-by-side, so I was quite hesitant to go to this style and now I can't be happier that I made the switch.

So far this fridge is the best one I have ever owned!! The delivery and installation were excellent. The fridge is a dream! The fingerprint coating actually works, and I swear it holds more food than my old one which was supposedly over 30 cu. ft.
Product exceeds my expectations and looks great in black stainless. The small added features of the unit make storing different items, in different areas very easy. I would recommend this product!

This is a vendor replacement for a failed Kenmore Elite...This Samsung far exceeds expectations within the first day. It is very quiet, streamlined, beautiful. The compartments were versatile and adjustable to my needs. Within 4 hours the compartments were within food spec temperatures. The ice maker, quiet also, produced ice in abundance within 24 hours. All the lights, bells and whistles operated well; were user friendly; and easy on the eyes. Again, it is hard to believe how quietly the unit operates. It is the first week. Returning after 6 months for a review.
I do love this refrigerator so let me point out the negatives, none of which were deal breakers. The stainless steel finish on the front shows every fingerprint. The owners manual isn't very good and I had to find things online. changing the water filter requires shutting off the water supply. This is a very large appliance and pulling it out or shutting off the main water supply to the house is a hassle. But the water filter itself is easily accessed. Ice maker takes a lot of space from refrigerator, makes small cubes and doesn't have a large bin. That's fine for me, but if I used a lot of ice on a daily basis, I probably would have gone with the model that has a second ice maker in the freezer. All of the negatives are minor and I wouldn't trade the center drawer or door-within-a-door for any of them. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I'm very skeptical of appliances with computers in them. I've only had this refrigerator for a couple of weeks and so far so good. If it lasts as long as my old refrigerator, which is running fine in the garage and has been around for over 15 years, I'll give it 5 stars. As far as value, I think all the fancy appliances today are overpriced, and from reviews I've read on other models, can be a lot of trouble. Time will tell. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my new refrigerator a lot.
I like the black stainless. Easy to clean. It's nice and roomy inside. The only flaw is that the ice maker is slow.
The refrigerator is extremely nice and accessible. The ice maker has a tendency to leave a bit of a mess. Most important is the one year warranty. Be sure to check and confirm that Samsung has a service center that will cover your residence area. Samsung did NOT cover a repair during the warranty period as they had no service center to cover our residence area. In this case, you might consider purchasing the Home Depot extended warranty.
I ignored all of the reviews concerning the loudness of the compressor as i thought that it just was a different sound than what most people are used to. I was wrong, this refrigerator is loud when the compressor is running. So much so that I know every time it turns on even when I am in another room. My old refrigerators were never this loud. BTW: the refrigerator does not come with the tray dispenser (cover for the ice dispenser in the door that will cover the indentation for the water spillage reservoir). You have to purchase this separately p/n DA63-07931A-002. This is the same part that comes with refrigerator model RF28HFEDBSG.

If everything is fixed, I will update my review but here is a brief synopsis of the issues : New refrigerator was delivered yesterday. It's not even 24 hours old and I have to have service on it already. 1. Showcase door doesn't work properly. There is a button on the handle that is sticking so it only opens the showcase and not the whole door. 2. Lights not working inside. 3. The water/ice maker dispenser is not working. Yes, the water is on. It is a nice refrigerator but jeez, I really got a lemon! Called Samsung and they are taking care of the problems but I have yet to hear when that will be. I am being compensated $100 but if stuff keeps happening, I don't want it.
Initially the top doors did not close properly (left door would stay open). Tech came out and adjusted it but he then notices the top drawer on the freezer was not rolling properly so he adjusted that. I then had to have a tech come out for the freezer drawer again and he could not figure why it rolled so poorly. he ordered me a new drawer. It took one more service call find out the wrong freezer drawer had/was being installed. That problem fixed, I did not have the heart to mention that the ice dispenser is misaligned so ice shoots off to one side. I will say the frige is pretty to look at though.
5 Days in the house and the ice maker is not dispensing ice. It is making lots of ice, but press the glass against the lever an nothing happens. Not only that, but request service online and it's a "24 working hour" wait. That folks is up to and including 3 days! Completely unsatisfactory. The person on the other end of the chat was well instructed and very professional in helping what they could on-line and getting me to the service request page. Fit and finish is great, the delivered product was very nice with no scratches, dents or anything else. Made ice very quickly and things are really accessible with all the doors and drawers. Well represented on the website, the dimensions were fantastic for making sure it fit before delivery. Delivery people were very good, in and out quickly and set up all the handles, doors, shelves, settings and connections along with explaining how they worked. Very professional. These rankings and recommendation are subject to change on the outcome of the service issue with the ice maker.
My fridge was delivered on 11/5/2016. The morning of 11/27/2016 I woke up to water all over the floor and a fridge that NO longer worked. That's right, only 4 weeks later and a broken down fridge. The fridge area no longer was cooling and the freezer, nothing but hot air. Lost ALL my food. Oh and my fridge was delivered damaged. I did agree to accept a $150.00 discount which I have yet to receive that check. As if I'm not already inconvenienced, a tech can only come out somewhere between 8-5 Mon-Fri.
Bought this fridge two weeks ago and had it delivered. The ice maker has not worked properly from the start. Contacted Samsung today to see about getting it fixed. Was told how to remove my ice maker but the instructions I was given were not correct. I had to pull out the owners manual, read it while on the phone with them, and then tell them how it is done. I had to dump all my ice and then was told to wait for 24 hours. If the problem still continued I was to call them back and they would send someone out ay MY EXPENSE! Reason given for this? Because the ice maker was not installed correctly. Don't know how that is my problem. I didn't install it and I had it professionally delivered. Called Home Depot and they said the ice makers are installed from the factory. So Samsung admits that the ice maker is installed incorrectly, and this was done by them, yet I have to pay to get it fixed on a two week old fridge. Buyer beware when it comes to buying from Samsung.
I purchased this new fridge the last of August and within 90 days I started having trouble with the water dispenser leaking in the little catch basin and I figured I would ask the sales guy at my Home Depot about it and he said that I should call service which by the way I bought the 5 year extended warranty and they said call Samsung who then tells me they have no service repair in my area so they said Refund or Replace and that was a week ago so I call today and they tell me the ticket was canceled and don't know why so I've got to start this drill all over again, I even went so far as calling a service center in my area and was told yes they can work on it but I have to pay the bill of around 200.00 for parts and labor and I explained this to Samsung and said I was willing to pay the bill and keep it but was told no that was their corporate policy not too, I couldn't believe it but they would rather send two men and a truck and take a chance on it getting damaged being returned so I was just taught a real lesson Do not purchase anything made by Samsung and don't buy the extended warranties from Home Depot, This is a spectacular looking unit but not ready for prime time yet!

Should have believed the reviews about this refrigerator!! 4 days after receiving and installing refrigerator, it would not hold temperature... refrigerator full of food ruined, and after 2 troubleshooting calls to HD and Samsung, still not working! Now we have wait up to 48 hours to find out when we will get a technician visit. I am red hot angry! Thanks, Samsung-- just what I wanted as I unpack from our move-- to have a refrigerator that I paid THOUSANDS of dollars for not work!!
Noisiest refrigerator I've ever owned. I've bought beater trucks that cost less and weren't as noisy. If you can stand the constant popping, then this is your fridge. Called Samsung and was told to let it go for 3 months and it should settle down. After 3 months it still is very, very noisy, the popping is still there. When calling Samsung they explained to me if they came out on a service call and "they" determined there wasn't a problem they would charge me a service call. Google ......Samsung popping noise, and you will see that this is a major problem. Not recommend this product!!!!!
I bought my fridge last November and not even after 4 months. The fridge started to make a loud noise . It sounds like a rattling from inside . I called Samsung customer service to explain to them about the problem and it was really weird how the guy was talking to me. He was so rude and trying to accuse me that I making that up , he was coming up with all kind of excuses to get away and get red of me . First I thought this is just one ugly guy and I had a bad apple but after a few weeks I called again And talked to a different person. it was the same exact way , ugly and mean and rude trying to blame the customer and dont even want to listen . The rattling sound strated to annoy us more and more . my wife called yesterday and she had one of the worst customer service . the guy was so mean and so rude he was threatening us to charge us and telling us that the call is recorded . I guess this is how Samsung wants to deal with there customers so I will never buy Samsung products again and I will spread the word. GO ON YOUTUBE AND SEE WHAT PPL TALK ABOUT THERE RATTLING PROBLEMS. NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN
Purchased this beautiful refrigerator July 4, 2016. Delivered August 12, 2016. April 2017 ice maker goes out. Since it is still under Samsung warranty Home Depot can do nothing with the extended warranty from them. Called Samsung April 7. They call back saying "we do NOT have a service center or contractor in your area. We will be replacing the refrigerator! It will be 1-2 weeks when someone calls you." 2 weeks later they have not called. I called them back and they go thru the whole scenario of tracking your purchase. Finally I decided to opt for a refund of price plus tax. Now it will be 2-4 weeks before receiving a refund check. NO I do NOT recommend purchasing any Samsung appliance! Giving this a one star
We have had this fridge for less than two months and have had Samsung service reps out twice to "fix" it. The freezer swings wildly in temperature. We learned our lesson after the first time and started storing everything in our chest freezer. Samsung claimed the repair would fix the problem, but our freezer was sitting at 35 degrees last night when it is set to -8. Samsung has been a nightmare to deal with and Home Depot washed their hands of it within 24 hours of purchase. I'll be purchasing my next fridge from Lowes, and it will be anything but Samsung.
