The 28.15 cu. ft. 4-door french door refrigerator by Samsung is energy star qualified. It has features such as a filtered water and ice dispenser with multiple options, tempered glass shelving, and door in door technology that allows easy access to must-have items. This refrigerator is top contender and is reviewed very well. The rare negative review is normally about the ice maker.
11 years ago we purchased a 3 door refrigerator and found it perfect for our family and especially for holidays and parties. We purchased a side by side which works really well, but is now being used as an extra refrigerator/freezer in our garage. We found the side by side difficult to find items in. This 4 door refrigerator is perfection achieved. It is an improvement on the 3 door which had the large drawer on the inside. The doors and bins move smoothly to open and close. The lighting is incredible. I am enjoying the lit, pitcher accessible water especially to fill the coffee pot and pet bowls easily with filtered water. I couldn't be happier! This refrigerator carries my 100% + recommendation.View More Reviews
Absolutely love the new refrigerator, the only discrepancy I have is the top doors are not level; there is a slight off set that is pretty noticeable and not sure how to correct it! Having a lot of space in the freezer section is wonderful, and the deli drawer is a great treat!
We have had our fridge for almost 3 years now. We love most of the features. Good storage, simple design, easy to clean on the inside. The water seems to come out a little slow, even after filter changes but its not a huge deal. One of the gaskets ripped a little but it doesn't affect the sealing nautre of the door. The one major issue I have with this fridge is the ice chute. You end up getting more crushed ice on the floor than in your cup. Same goes for cubed occasionally. You have to hold the cup up touching the discharge chute to be effective. There should be a rubber guide near the chute to channel the ice more as it comes out. It is especially annoying when guests are over. 1st world problems I know. Overall we are pleased with the purchase. We do really like the flex drawer, it is perfect for pizza boxes or veggie dishes.
The functionality and freezer drawers have been nice. Here is my complaint, we bought two of these, both have had major repairs over the last two years, both have had to have the icemaker replaced, one the water valve, both repairs took a minimum of three months to get fixed, the last repair four months (they said parts were not available). If you buy this unit, be sure to buy the protection plan, and be prepared to wait for months to get it repaired. Home depot does their repair service through 3-party independent services, maybe yours will be better than our area, but you will have costly repairs unless you buy the protection plan . . . so be warned.
Noisy , hums, groans , rattles when you open the bottom freezer door , the ice maker sounds like a gun shot went off , at all hours , scared the heck out of me at 2 in morning , all this within the first week , samsung repair man came out and replaced a gasket , he took off the inside back to do it , that helped a lot , after he left it would shock me when I was barefoot , and it would hum ,as if it was posesed i begin wearing rubber gloves until the repairman came back and fixed that problem, Ice maker still has the gun shot sound , im getting used to it now! i would not buy this model run from it
The ice maker is a standard size and tends to produce ice adequately. HOWEVER, BE WARNED that Samsung ice makers are very poor quality. They tend to dispense crushed ice even when you don't want it. They definitely dispense broken bits of cubes constantly. I have contacted Samsung about this issue and their attitude is " well, that's just the way it is" . It's a shame that a $3,000 refrigerator comes with such an inferior ice maker and even a bigger shame that Samsung thinks it's okay to sell you a fridge that spits ice in your floor every time you use it. Their customer service department said that if they send a technician out to look at it they will bill me because they don't consider this a defect. Huh?? Be informed before you buy a Samsung product. UPDATE: The icemaker now frequently clogs up with ice cubes trying to come out of the freezing unit (not the dispenser, the inside freezing unit!!!) and jams the entire system. I literally have to chop the ice loose with a knife.
I purchased the refrigerator January 2016. When I purchased the refrigerator I paid $2485 for it. When it came for delivery the Samsung delivery men were horrible, they didn't want to bring it in to my home as I live on the 2nd floor of a condominium and the stairs can be uncomfortable and the delivery men didn't want to make the effort to take it upstairs. After I finally got the delivery, one of the drawers was cracked. I called Samsung and they offered and sent me a replacement drawer. After this there was no issues until December 2016, where the refrigerator started making a loud noise and there was frost building up on the inside of the icemaker. The ice build up prevents the icemaker from making ice. I called Samsung and the advised that Lakes Electronics would be coming out to me. I waited the 48 hours and never received a call. It stopped having the issue for a while but started again in January and this week got really bad. I called today and Samsung claimed to not have a record of me calling, they advised once again Lakes Electronics would call me and they did but this time saying that my refrigerator is out of warranty and they want $99 to send a technician to my house.... When I called while I had my warranty no one called or contacted me and now this... Unfortunately I'm still paying my homedepot credit card for this refrigerator. Nearly $2500 and one year later and I have a fridge with an icemaker that doesn't work and makes noise like a lawnmower.
We bought the Samsung 28 cu. Ft. 4 door French door refrigerator in stainless steel. We have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator since we bought it. I definitely would look at a different brand refrigerator! Since we bought it the ice maker has never worked properly. It would crush the ice instead of giving you whole cube. The ice cubes would come out partially thawed. First the ice cube tray cracked. That was $130. I continued to have the problem and contacted Samsung. They would just send an email saying to check for leaks, ect. Nobody got back to me with a real solution. Then the problem continues but now the ice maker freezes up and there is ice froze on the outside of the ice maker and the ice cubes jam before falling into the ice cube tray. I contacted Samsung again and they told me to do the same thing. Check to make sure the ice door is closing, check for leaks, and empty everything out of the refrigerator and let it thaw. NOTHING fixes it!! I am absolutely so fed up with this useless refrigerator. I have to thaw the refrigerator and ice maker out once a month. That is absolutely ridiculous! And now there is a loud humming/grinding noise in the back of the refrigerator. Please save yourself all the hassle that I have had to go through with this JUNK refrigerator and go with a different brand. The refrigerator and ice maker are useless and Samsung customer service is horrible!
