The 33'' 24.73 cu. ft. 4-door french door refrigerator by Samsung is energy star qualified. It has features such as a filtered water and ice dispenser with multiple options, tempered glass shelving, and door in door technology that allows easy access to must-have items. This refrigerator has strong reviews. The rare complaints are about durability.
The refrigerator is large but fit in perfectly in a 34-in wide x 70-in height space. The unit is very quiet in operation. So far we are loving all the features: ice cold water, crushed/cubed ice, separated cooler draw.View More Reviews
Delivered 9 days ago. (paid $2,198 plus Tax) I was limited to a 34" wide frig, space and was replacing a 16yr old Whirlpool Side-by-Side refrierator that still ran perfectly but broke a water line. After weeks of research and reading countless reviews I narrowed it down to this Samsung and a LG. I Liked that both models have the "easy open" freezer drawer, French Doors, thru the door ice & water dispensor and LED lighting. The main reason I choose this Samsung over LG, because I did not like the LG Water Dispensor, concerned about melting ice having the Ice Maker in the door and the right frig crisper drawer would not open all the way unless you had both frig doors open. This Samsung is elegant looking and has great features, but it is very NOISY. I have a open floor plan and I can hear the fan running almost constantly and it makes a vibrating and popping noise throughout the day. The only noice I ever heard my 16yr old Whirlpool Side-by-Side was ice cubes dropping into the ice bucket. Maybe all new refrigerators are noisy ! I bought the extended Warranty, cause its too big of an investment not to.
Love this refrigerator, but not sturdy enough for a household with kids. Door shelves fall off easily, dents on front with the slightest hit, fingerprint magnet!
First, the Good: Love the french doors. More useful than anything we've ever had. Love the top drawer. We use it for leftovers, so they can be easily found. The bottom freezer is also very good with separate compartments, a shelf in the drawer and a sliding drawer on top to provide easy access to frequently used things. Now, the Bad: The ice maker. First the problem, then my assessment of the faulty design. We've had it over a year, so we are out of warranty. The ice maker started leaking at at month 7 of ownership, it was replaced. In talking with the repair man, these are known Samsung issues, and it's just a bad design (more in a minute.) So, it stopped working today at month 14 of ownership and we can pay several hundred dollars to have it replaced again. The design problem, as explained by the tech who came out - and logic. The ice maker is in the refrigerator (34-degrees). So, the warmer refrigerator air gets into the maker and causes condensation and leakage. When using the crunch mode, this makes it worse because there are shavings left in the discharge shoot. Also, when opening and closing the left door, you are breaking the seal between the ice maker and shoot allowing room temperature in, further exacerbating the problem. So, we have a $2,700 item on which the ice maker will be a recurring expense of several hundred dollars. I would not purchase this, or any unit, where the ice maker is in the refrigerator compartment. The problem is obvious - simply bad design. What I would look for is cold water through the door and the ice maker in the freezer department, even if that meant I could not dispense ice. Had we known these problems in advance, we would bought this item.
Overall this is a good product. It's the biggest one that would fit in the space. Needs more tall item space!! Milk wine and other tall things are squeezed on one shelf.
Had this product for 10 days and it doesn't work, specifically the freezer portion will not cool down. The freezer stays at constant 57 degrees, and the control panel infrequently just locks you out. Initial contact with Samsung was not helpful, and I quote Samsung “if you didn’t have professional installation for your refrigerator, we will not help you”. Kudos to Home Depot who is going to replace the product. Only concern now is Samsung who apparently requires a professional to plug-in the cord to the outlet, and any future support for this product. I have called Samsung back and they refuse to answer the question. Best of luck to any Samsung refrigerator owners.
Ordered this fridge. It took four delivery attempts for the delivery people to show up. As the refrigerator niche was not ready, it sat in the crate a few weeks awaiting installation. When we plugged it in, it was a brick. No hum, no buzz, no lights, no nothing. Neither Home Depot nor Samsung would replace this unit. Waited several days for tech's diagnosis, two weeks for parts to arrive. Tech comes back tomorrow sometime between 8 and 5. Maybe tomorrow we will have some refrigeration. Would have thought we would have been offered a new unit or at least a rebate and an extended warranty on this now reconditioned unit. Frustrating process.
I bought this unit in September 2016. January the unit starting making loud noise. The tech said it was a fan. He ordered the part. Scheduled for Tuesday after a Thursday original visit. During the weekend I noticed the refrigerator was not holding temperature. Even when I set the temperature to 34F the lowest possible. The temperature was 44F in the unit. In order to get the temperature down I have been loading it with ice. Tuesday I was told the tech would come afternoon. Finally at 3:50 I called to check on him. They told me my ticket was cancelled (quick repair). I called Samsung and they couldn't help me because they couldn't get in touch with there repair company. They said my ticket was open not cancelled. I call home depot and lady is trying to help me. At five a tech called me and told me he couldn't come because he had the wrong parts. The left hand don't know what the right hand is doing. I guess I should happy it didn't start on fire. This is the first time I ever wrote the negative report. Save yourself aggravation and buy from a different company.
