LG WT1501CW Washer Customer Reviews

Great Washer without the musty smell

This is a top load version of the HE washer. Good space...will accommodate blankets and comforters. Cleans exceptionally well, all the while using less water. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have intentionally held off writing a review until I had some real world experience with this unit. It replaced a Maytag Neptune that was a nightmare from day one. Like you folks reading this, I did a lot of research and review reading before buying. Well, it has been a year and we have found this machine to be excellent with no troubles what so ever. We like the large drum capacity and the fact it only takes the amount of water needed to get the job done. Clothes come out clean and not twisted up like they did with the Neptune. Again, I have had this for a year so I know of what I speak. This washer should make it to your short list of contenders!

I've only had this washer for about a month, but I love everything about it so far. Very easy to use & I love that it senses how big the load is and adjusts the water accordingly. It can fit so much that it has cut my laundry time down quite a bit.

Wow...this washer is so nice I look forward to doing my laundry on Saturday! It runs awesome, its super smart, and frankly its just too cool with its glass top that you can use to see it's working. I also just love the jingle after its done running.

I love the touch screen and how it chooses the temperature, spin speed, and soil level, by the type of cycle you choose. I also love that it washes my clothes faster than my last washer and the timer let you know how many more minutes. It holds a lot of clothes and doesn't need much detergent.

 LG WASHER

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!! IT'S SO QUIET AND IT DOES A GREAT JOB GETTING MY CLOTHES CLEAN. THE ONLT DRAW BACK IS I HAVE TO GET A HANGER TO GET THE CLOTHES OUT OF HE WASHER. I GUES I'M TOO SHORT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Love love love

Wanted an easy to use machine and this is definitely user friendly. It cleans my clothes wonderfully...so quiet..and when it is finished it has spun them with very little dampness. The little song it plays when the load is done is a pleasant bonus...hahaha

 Great Washer

I went from a front loaded to this washer in my new home and I LOVE IT! It can handle large loads, mixed loads, whites, etc. Love the capacity and how it washes the clothes so well. Would definitely recommend this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Don't think twice - get it. I searched and searched for the right machine and I love this dynamic duo! Yes it takes 1 hr to wash a load of laundry but clothes come out super clean. I have been running around with a tape measure in the stores because i have a small laundry room but machines fit perfectly in smaller spaces! One thing i did not foreseen - I have cabinets above the washer and dryer and the lid of the washer can not be fully open or remain open. I'm yet to figure out the solution, don't want to send this lovey back. However, if you do have cabinets above your washer maybe consider a washer with controls on the back.

 I'm in love.

I had no idea I could love an appliance, but now I know. I hated our front load washing machine and was happy when it broke. This new washer is a dream. I love the size. It holds so much. I love that it doesn't have the center agitator. I even love the cute, little robotic noises it makes.

Works better then i thought it would.High-Efficiency makes this a money saver plus clothes are cleaner using less chemicals.I need to use it for a year to know the energy savings(2 weeks is too short of time)to give accurate results.

Clothes come out so clean. I have this machine for just over an year. It is very quiet, does not vibrate much, water and energy saver. The best washing machine the money can buy. I always check reviews before I buy anything. I agree with all 5 stars reviews. I did recommend this to few of my friends. So far, there is no problem.

 FANTASTIC MACHINE

The machine was just delivered and setup today. I have already ran three loads through it this evening. It is so quiet while it is running. The clothes came out very clean. The clothes were so easy to dry because all excess water had been removed. So different from our old machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought my washer 6mos ago. I love my new washer. I like the front buttons and how it balance's the load. I have a Townhouse and my wash room is on the 3rd floor. I was told to buy a Samsung because it had a balancer for noise and was made for apt and upper floor wash rooms. It lasted 4yrs what a lost of money. I paid $998.00 and bought stand with the drower. I wasted money on that too. Don't have good things to say about Samsung they would not help me with my no spin washer. So I went to Home Depot and bought the LG Ron recommended at Beaverton or shop and will recommend it to all my friends. Thanks

 Great washer

We just got this washer and thus far it seems to be doing a great job! Set up of the washer was very easy. The only issue with it is that the tub is very deep which makes it a little harder for a shorter person to remove the clothes once the wash cycle is complete. All and all it is an excellent washer and LG is an excellent product!

What a cool washer, actually sings to you when the load is done. No need to set the amount of water, the washer does it. Just put the clothes in, the washer spins a bit to determine the load size and starts filling the tub. Only drawback is you might need step stool to stand on to get into the bottom of the washer - no agitator, deep tub.

A Whole New World of Washing

The LG washer hasn't disappointed us in 5 months of use; the direct drive drum is quiet and when loaded correctly utilizing all the wash and rinse options available on the awesome touch pad , there haven't been any issues with every wash being thoroughly clean and ready for the matching LG dryer we purchased. Unit has made our old use of past Maytag and Kenmore washers obsolete! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So far we are very happy. We were so pleased with the dryer that we got the matching washer. So far they are quiet, efficient and easy to use. The design that eliminates .the big vertical agitator in the middle of the washer, makes it hold double the amount of clothes that the older washer held. If there is one potential downside to the washer, it is not made for those 5ft 2 or under and it can be difficult to reach smaller items on the bottom of the washer without a step stool.

After an extensive search we purchased this washer and it's matching dryer. We have used this for the past 4 months and have been very happy with our choice. Clothes come out very clean. The numerous options for setting make it easy to use for just about any need. The only minor complaint is that the wash drum is very deep. I am 5'9'' and have to stand on tip toes to reach clothes at the bottom. This may be a real problem for any one that is short. The size of this washer has allowed larger loads including blankets and comforters.

I spent most of my time researching best brands and the size that fits my family needs. It helped to have a Home Depot nearby so that I could actually physically see the capacity size. The non-agitator feature is my favorite. So much easier to remove clothes. This replaced an 11-year old washer and the spin cycle is clearly better (and the old one was a high-end model). I saved $500 by not going with what I thought was a larger needed capacity. LG wins my business on this and my future dryer.

I've had this washer 3 weeks and I look for things to clean. The cycles do take 10 mins longer than my old agitator model, but the reduced water and no noise are worth it. Everything I've washed has come out cleaner than ever and I'm using far less detergent and downy. The only downside for me is that I'm 5'1" so my arms are about an inch too short to get small items like socks off the bottom. Honestly, this far exceeded my expectations. Purchased the matching dryer and have already convinced 2 other people to do the same!

 Quiet and cleans the clothes!

We bought this washer a month ago to get rid of a moldy front loader of another brand. This washer is very quiet for most of the cycle and makes very little noise for the portion you can hear. We have it in a utility room next to our kitchen and it is open to our living area because we have our cat box in the utility room as well. We have been very pleased with the cleanliness of the clothes too. The slow close top is a nice feature. There are also various settings including a 30 minute speed wash cycle that does a good job too. No complaints. This washer has so far exceeded expectations.  Amazing washer!

We needed a new washer and wanted to upgrade to an energy star certified, HE machine. I have only had my new washer for a week but it is amazing! Not only can I wash a ton of laundry at once, but it is so quiet. The only funny thing about this machine is that it is VERY deep. It has such a huge, deep capacity that being a short woman, I have to use a step stool to reach the clothes at the very bottom. The price is high, but fair for great quality and features. Don't forget your HE inlet hoses though! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We looked and looked and looked for a new washer, read what felt like 3000 reviews and finally decided on this one despite some negative comments and reviews. We don't get those negative reviews, we really love this machine. I actually even look forward to doing laundry, haha! It's a little louder than our previous front loader but not by much. I like that we are using less water and getting our clothes just as clean. Is it slightly difficult to reach to the bottom of the tub if you're short (like me)? Sure, but I still like it. We recommend it and love it!

 LG top load washer

AFter enjoying my LG dryer for a couple of years, my washer died.. I love the LG dryer so much and have never had any trouble so I decided to replace my old dead washer with an LG washer that matched. I have only used it a day or so and already love it! Much less water. Clothes come out cleaner and almost soundless operation! I also have an LG cell phone! I am fast becoming an LG fan! Wonderful dependable products! Thanks LG!  I bought this top loader to replace a Samsung front loader that basically froze on a bad bearing ...

I bought this top loader to replace a Samsung front loader that basically froze on a bad bearing after only 5 years of service. I can't say enough bad things about a front loader. They smell, they are noisy and they don't last. It's physics, putting all of that strain (the weight of the drum and the load being washed) on a horizontal strut is a really poor design. I'm sure there are commercial front loaders that are designed to withstand the strain, but the home models don't and the front loaders harbor mold and bacteria which end up giving your washer an extremely unpleasant smell. You can deal with this with products like Affresh, but why would you want to? Alright enough ripping on front loaders. My wife and I were definitely going back to a top loader. The question was which one? This LG got very good reviews and was rated a best buy by a number of review sites. Still there were some very negative reviews regarding noise and the load constantly becoming unbalanced. Our laundry room is inside of our home, it's actually adjacent to our den/kitchen where we spend most of time so having a noisy washing machine was definitely something we didn't want. This machine makes 1/3 the noise that our front loader made. My home office is less that 15ft away from the washer and I rarely hear it, so you can rest easy on the noise issue. As for the unbalanced load problems. I have really put this thing through it's paces. We had accumulated about 10 loads of laundry while we were waiting for delivery so we tried loading it up completely and conversely loading only 1 heavy item (a comforter). The machine handled everything we threw at it without a problem. I've got to believe that the folks who are having trouble with unbalanced loads do not have the machine level to begin with. The washer features feet that are extremely easy to adjust, a simple carpenters level will tell you if you need to adjust them. The capacity on this washer is HUGE. If we do a full load we have to break it into 2 so we don't overload our dryer. The capacity may be the only down side to the washer. It's so big that someone shorter than 5'6" will probably have trouble reaching the bottom of the machine. We put a small step stool next to the washer to make it easier for my wife to reach in all the way. The bottom line is that this is a very good appliance. Only time will tell if it holds up over the years, but right now I love it!

 Saves water

I have been using my washer for several months and love the water saving feature of this machine. The fast spin cycle has cut down on the amount of drying time. The tub rinse cuts down on the funky smell I would sometimes get with my old machine. This machine with its HE (high efficiency) feature uses only detergent with HE efficiency and therefore uses less detergent to get clothes clean. Overall I love the machine. We bought our new house in February 2015. Our washer and dryer came with it. In September, our washer stopped working and decided to get a replacement instead of trying to fix the one we had. We initially went to Lowes and bought a Maytag. After it was installed, we had the shock of our lives when the thing vibrated and shook as though it was going to walk out of the room. I called Maytag and they said it will vibrate on any upper floor. I didn't like that at all, since ours is next to the second floor bedroom... so I had them take it away after 5 days. Though there was no hassle returning it to Lowes, they NEVER offered an alternative or any suggestion on what would work on an upper floor, so we walked out and drove to Home Depot. They immediately suggested this LG model. We bought it and from the day we started using it, it has been AWESOME. We love that it fits well next to the existing dryer. No mismatched knobs and no chrome panels that makes them odd next to each other. I thought the push button controls were interesting in the pictures, but now that I have used this washer for the past 3 weeks, I am totally hooked with the ease and visibility of them. The machine has a motor that is attached directly to the basket, so it is QUIET as a mouse and NO noticeable vibration. I even love the melody it gently plays when it is done and I hear it on the first and third floors with no problem. I am totally happy with the chrome basket, the way it balances the loads, and the clothes come out sparkling clean. We LOVE this washer!

This is a really good washer! I'm new to this "HE" deal and I bought a GE because I have had them before and it was on sale. It SUCKED. Seriously. I returned it and got this LG model as an exchange. It is great! After many washed it has not moved an inch and it is quiet and does a great job on the clothes. You can buy cheaper but I don't think you can buy better. Save the headaches!

 Love it!

We've had it for a couple weeks now and we are really loving it. The washer is so quiet and doesn't shake the entire house like our last one did. I love the little tune it plays when it's done. And it's BIG! I was able fit a king-sized comforter (not terribly fluffy) and a queen-sized quilt in one load and it wasn't even filled to the top (see pic) but two fluffy sleeping bags was too much. I'm really glad we purchased this washer

 Impressive

Have only owned this unit for a short time, but it seems to work well. The wash bin is huge and very deep so I can understand the concerns with pulling clothes out. Other than that it appears to be a solid machine. Delivery and set up were great.

Purchased this unit several weeks ago.Only know the basics on operating this washer. Need to further review the operating instructions. So far very pleased with it. Quiet, can handle large loads, like the open drum, clear top lid, sleek design and appealing to the eye. Like the pull out dispenser tray for the detergent and soap. Nice sound display when turning unit on and when the cycle is complete. Unit has exceeded my expectations so far. Iam 5'10 but without shoes on can't reach to the bottom of the drum unless I'm on my toes. Also when leaning over to remove clothes can't help but lean on control panel, which prompts unit to start.

 LG -WT1501CW

I Love the washer so far. Nice & Quite. Run pretty smooth for now. I would give 5 starts but I only had it 3 months 1/2. The only complaint I have is when my clothes is dry & I take it out from my washer. My body touch against the button & it all lids up. It's so sensitive. I wish they put it on the top of the machine instead in front where you open the top at. It's a good machine. Hopefully it last me long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 looks nice

Just bought a week ago because we saw the units at a neighbors... we have a very small condo, and these fit... good thing. However, the water levels are not good! It's sensored by the unit; the clothes are not covered with water..... also, it really is too big.... when i put in a full load of towels ( from the old washer we had ) it is really a very, very small load here. So, for a 2 person household, it wasn't a good choice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Front Controls - Great

I bought this washer about a month ago. I love the washer beside it is too tall. I need a step ladder to get my clothes out of the washer. If you are short do not buy without knowing it it's very tall. Any suggestions on getting your clothes out, please post. I wish it had one cycle for a quick wash with downy cycle. I'd give it a 4 1/2 rating. Like the delay button. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Conserves a lot of water. Has cut down on how many loads of laundry I have to do with the big tub. Does leave some washing machine soap residue on some of my clothes (obvious on dark clothes such as jeans or black pants). I am short so I have to use a stool to get small items from the bottom of the tub. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So far so good, I've had them about 2 weeks and they are by far the quietest most efficient washer and dryer I've ever owned. I don't think my clothes have felt cleaner. Would by them again, or, if I had a larger budget, spring for the slightly more expensive LG of the same design.

 Great washer

I was reluctant to purchase this based on all the reviews by short people but I'm glad I did. I'm 5'7 and my wife is 5'2 and we can both reach the bottom of the tub just fine. It's not quite as quiet as I hoped but it doesn't shake our second floor like our last one and we can't hear it downstairs. After a few weeks and several loads,it hasn't complained about being out of balance yet. Its capacity cuts down on the number of loads my wife does and the clothes come out clean with no detergent stains. We haven't used the extra water setting yet because I don't think it's been necessary. We got a good black Friday price of $500 but don't know if I'd pay much more than that.

I really like this washing machine. It does a great job cleaning, and I like that it adjusts washing time to load. Absolutely no complaints with it as a washer, but the tub SUPER deep. I'm 5'3" and I have to use a step stool to get to the bottom. Just fyi for all you little people!

So disappointed in this LG Product!

I have had this machine for almost 2 months and if I had it to do over again I would never buy it! I want hot water in some loads but the only way to get it is to turn off the valve to the cold water. I must turn the cold back on or it won't run through the cycle. The spin cycle lasts way too long! I have to use grill tongs to get the clothes at the bottom of the load out of the washer! I have always loved LG products! That is why I decided on getting this washing machine. My opinion of LG has gone from a PLUS10 to a 4 at best. Don't waste you money getting a fancy looking machine! Stick to the simple washing machines! I wish I had!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 UE codes galore

80% of wash cycles result in UE code. The washer is 2 years old. Enough said! Poor design and poor investment. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

throw your money away, it'll be more rewarding

I've had this machine for 2 years. It cannot balance even the lightest of loads. Constantly refills & ends with the same "UE" indicator. I've never been more frustrated with a product or displeased with a brand in my entire life. I'm typing this review while standing over the unit waiting 1 blanket to finish its 3 hour cycle. I literally have to ring out my clothes by hand before putting them in the dryer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Miserable machine

This machine worked fine for 3 years and then started generating an "out of balance" code. We came to learn that this is a ongoing problem with this machine and that it cannot be fixed. Customer beware on this machine... it is a miserable example of an electronic washer. Even buying the warranty as we did won't get you relief. Our first experience with LG products is a lesson to avoid them entirely. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Clothes sensor does not work

I am beyond exasperated with this machine. It does not adjust the water regardless of load size. Only a couple of inches of water are in the tub and it's usually barely visible through the clothes. If the lid is raised during "add clothes" the washer fills to the very top, even if no clothes were added. So the only water levels I can get are practically empty and totally full. I'll never buy another LG washer. It's only three years old but I've limped along with it long enough and am now going to buy a different washer, not one that "senses" water needs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

There's something to be said about an agitator that this machine does not have. The clothes don't seem to move around in the wash and when there's sheets, they sort of make a "parachute" over the other items. All the items get very tangled and hard to untwist. Often there is a pool of water in mostly the towels that I have to squeeze out. And it is so deep (I'm average 5'5") I need a stick to pull out the bottom items. Yes, I'm sorry I got this one but I'm stuck with it.

 Worst appliance we've ever owned.

An absolute nightmare. This machine can't do a basic load of wash without unbalancing. I wouldn't mind if it would just stop, but it tries to fix itself by re-filling and re-filling and re-filling.... It sucks water and electricity like a monster. After two years of this, my wife wants to take it to the dump. What a waste of $$$. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Clothes are never clean

We have had this was washer for about a year and its one of the worst top load washer! The clothes just sit on top if the water while the tub moves. Clothes stay in the same spot. If your using a fabric softner in the wash ... good luck because it stays on the clothes because the clothes do not move in the tub! Save your money and buy a front load washer ..

 Runs constantly with error code

I have had this washer coming up on 4 years and within the last month it will not run through a full cycle. It constantly reads UE and no amount of adjusting or different size loads helps, this even happens during the Tub Cleaning cycle. We've tried resetting the washer and it makes no difference. I'm very upset with this washer. These products are built to break. The computers fail which causes them to be inefficient and worthless without spending a pile more on an extended warranty. Money, utility, and time wasters. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Horrible machine

I bought this machine 2 years ago and it has been 2 years of total frustration and dissatisfaction. Machine never fills enough water and clothes come out with detergent on them. It is a piece of garbage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Terrible machine

Worst machine I have ever owned. When I wash my purple bedsheets there is soap residue. Now I'm using a liquid detergent...same thing. I can't even reach to the bottom of the machine to pull clothes out. I have to use a coat hanger it's so deep. Never even thought to check before buying. If a coin is in the machine it locks down. Would never buy another lg product. I'm going to go back to the old fashioned machine with an agitator. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Awful

We purchased this unit and matching dryer about 3 years ago. The large capacity and 10 year drum warranty attracted me to this model. However this is THE worst washer I've ever had. The cycles are insanely long. And regardless of the amount of clothing you put in it the machine gives a "UE" error code and stops. You have to then readjust everything and restart it. You then get to do the same thing again about 4 minutes later. I should have never purchased the LG given the experience I had with their phones. I will not purchase another product from them again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Expected a better washer and am disappointed!

I've had my washing machine for about 1-1/2 years now and am disappointed with it. My towels are no longer soft and fluffy, but stiff with I think is excess detergent. I only use HE detergent and ALWAYS use a second rinse to be sure to get the detergent rinsed out, to no avail. There is no way to adjust the water amount and have noticed that there is NOT enough water when washing items. The clothes barely circulate. I have warned my friends about this and if possible to purchase the older style washers similar to what they are replacing....don't go for "newer better versions" that have gotten so popular. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Wastes Water and Electricity

Bought this Washer a couple years ago and since Day One we've had nothing but problems. Service has been done probably 8 times and still the same issue. Unbalanced Recovery Over and Over and Over. Would never recommend LG to anyone looking for a washing machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Junk!

I bought this machine less than 3 years ago. If you had asked me a month ago how I felt about it, I would have given it 5 stars. But then the dreaded UE code started to appear multiple times in every wash load. It even appeared when the tub was empty in a Tub Clean cycle! How can the load be UnEven when there is no load? I have googled this problem and found out it is quite common and difficult/expensive to fix. It takes HOURS to complete one load. Sometimes I just give up and hand wring the wet clothes (the UE always appears during the rinse/spin cycle) and put them in the dryer. I have also shut off the power and restarted the machine in the Spin Only cycle. Don't know how much longer I can handle this before buying a new one. Not happy with LG. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Terrible product

We bought this washer because the sales talked us up on it. Heard LG was great. True if buying kitchen appliances. Our washer has been nothing but problem after problem. Never again will I buy an LG. It shouldn't take 3 1/2 hrs to do a 35 min wash!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 To the Landfill

The LG wt1101cw has been the absolute worst washer I have owned. The UE errors (which still happen constantly) will drive one insane. Babysitting loads of clothes for hours so the washer does not fill back up over and over is absurd. Ours will be going to the land fill at 1 1/2 years old, as we are fed up with it. We will be buying a different brand after reading and investigating an alternative. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 DOES NOT CLEAN CLOTHES

lg wt 1501cw DOES NOT CLEAN CLOTHES. There is only 3" of water in the tub to do 2 sheets and two pillow cases on COTTON NORMAL load. Sheets have a large air bubble in the center that is often dry AFTER the wash cycle. R INSE is about one minute of spray wash that does not get the soap off the clthes or sheets. Some items (socks) float during the rinse cycle. SPIN often shuts down with two towels on UNEVEN load after the wash. DO NOT BUY THIS. LG Technician said the washing machine was operating normally. On most loads we have to wash the clothes twice. DO NOT BUY THE LG TOP LOADER [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 More trouble than its worth

Had this washing machine for over a year, and could not be more unhappy with any product we have ever had, Takes hours to do a load of clothes as it is constantly getting out of balance and resetting itself, Terrible product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

MOLD & MILDEW SMELL after 3 months of use! DO NOT buy LG washers! The company sent out two different repair companies a total of five times to pour cleaner in my machine & press clean cycle, like I was in competent and could not do that. Both repair services REFUSE TO SERIVCE ME ANYMORE because the machine is defective, it stinks!! After 3.5 months of fighting with LG (machine was less than 6 months old when smells started) they refuse to do anything else! SO as a consumer I want everyone to know that LG customer service & tech support DO NOT stand by their products or warranties. Thankfully, HOME DEPOT in Robinson, PA has an excellent management team willing to allow me to return this product and get a different brand. They even contacted their LG rep and they would not help!! What a horrible company LG is-fraud, thieves, junk products!! I commend Home Depot for helping me, the consumer, & hope someday they quit carrying LG products, because Home Depot is taking the loss and LG should-shame on LG! Don't buy LG!!

We purchased this washer a few years ago and I feel compelled to share our experience. Overall, it has been just OK. The loads take a long time, but we have gotten used to that and can live with it now. It is relatively quiet and that is a nice quality. We have had some issues with unbalanced loads that take more attention, but really just when there are heavy items such as rugs or bedding and was not surprising. We have had issues with the fabric softener compartment not draining well from early on. At first, water would remain in the compartment after a load and now it appears to be clogged regularly as the softener either pours right through or won't flow through at all, remaining there after the load. :/ I have tried several times to clean it out, though the results never last very long. My biggest issue however, is that it seems to hate TOWELS. It had selectively torn holes in my "old" towels, but I just thought it was because they were getting thinner and weaker. With each load, they were getting worse, so I purchased 12 new, fluffy white towels. In no time, they are also being torn apart by this machine. Holes in the middle and on the edges...makes no difference. If I had known this would happen, I would have taken my chances on another machine. I guess I should be glad that it hasn't torn any of our clothing so far. But, we wash towels daily in our busy household and it is quite a disappointment. If you are considering this machine...think again.

 Perfect example of scrap

I've had this washer and accompanying dryer for 3 years. The dryer is wonderful and I have no complaints. The washer is incapable of washing without becoming "uneven". We have tried as suggested by placing clothing by weight around the drum like a donut, small/large loads, making sure the washer is level and nothing works. I despise this washer so much that I am considering taking it somewhere to have it crushed because I could not in good conscience sell it or give it to another person. I feel taken advantage of for spending the amount of money that I did on this piece of garbage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Terrible Terrible Purchase

We purchased this washer about three years ago after reviewing a number washers. We loved the large capacity - as we do ALOT of laundry with three boys. But soon to discover that the washer is hyper sensitive and keeps refilling the tub to "balance" the tub. I can't even fathom how much water we've wasted...some loads have filled and refilled at least 2-3 times! It seems when I fill the washer to capacity, it doesn't become unbalanced, but once I put a smaller load in - there is the "UE' error and the gallons of wasted water. I wish we could just turn off whatever is making it need to refill multiple times. So we finally had enough - and are going to get a new washer - that is NOT made by LG. We probably could have purchased a new washer or two - with all the money we spent on refilling the washer. Not efficient at all. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Poor cleaning and twisted clothes

This top loading washer uses so little water that the clothes do not come out much cleaner than when they went in. We typically wash sheets, towels and clothing, nothing excessively stained or heavily dirty. Following the final spin on any speed, my sheets, light blankets, towels and clothing come out so twisted that I must untwist them by hand, shake them pout and try to smooth out the wrinkles before drying them. Fabric softener doesn't make any difference. My first top loading, used agitator washer purchased in 1972 for under $100.00 lasted longer and washed better than any brand new so-called energy efficient washers I've owned since.  LG = Life is NOT Good

This washer has been a nightmare since new with the UE out of balance problem. After 3 years to the date of purchase I junked this machine and bought a Maytag washer with an agitator. Wash time is now 45 minutes compared to 2 to 4 hours. Saving water and electric is also a plus. I will never purchase a LG product again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 Unbalanced

We have had this washer for a few years. It started out great and for the last 6-8 months it throws an unbalanced code. I can not find a solution. I would never recommend this product to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 worst washer ever owned

Had the machine for 11 months & still don't understand it. Consistently clothes come out as dirty as they went in. With a large load there is no movement of the clothes. The items on top end the cycle still on top. Items in the middle of the drum will have dry spots more than 3/4 through the cycle. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
