We couldn't be more happy with this oven. My husband did a lot of research before purchasing and this one had great reviews. So we took a chance and are glad we did. Great look with the industrial style handles and very quiet when on. I also have family who works for Kitchenaid so this was an easy decision for us. I bought this model to replace the same series model that I installed in my Kitchen in 2002. Thankfully - it is exactly the same size as the old one, so no cabinet modifications were necessary. I have only had it a month, but everything works as it should. My only complaint is that the controls are laid out in a different (and less intuitive) way than they were on the previous model. Obviously, that is something that I will become used to over time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this oven right before Thanksgiving and we had the best food ever. A lot of other reviews complained about the timer not being loud enough but it can be turned up. My one suggestion is to keep the manuals and go through them because there is so much to learn so the oven and microwave can be used to their full potential. Using the connection is very easy, the oven converts recipes for you. You can microwave bacon on the crisp pan and it's delicious. We had to replace a wonderful 25 year old kitchenaid that finally went out. All future appliances will be kitchenaid. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is my first experience with the Kitchen Aid brand and I couldn't be happier. I haven't had the appliance long enough to have run it through it's paces but so far I am very pleased. The micro-oven combo is really beautiful. Everyone that sees it has one reaction - Wow!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had my oven and microwave just over a year. Both cook evenly and I enjoy knowing my recipes coming out evenly cooked. I also, like the various features and how smart the computer feature buttons are. I must say it keeps me line when I am cooking several iems at a time. I had this unit installed 2 weeks ago and love it. Both the oven and the microwave have convection which makes baking a breeze. The controls are easy to use and the oven preheats quickly. I love the pullout shelf in the oven. What a brilliant idea. Thanks for thinking of this. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought the combo wall oven/microwave a month ago. Beautifully engineered with many microwave functions when the oven is too big to use to prepare small meals. Exceptional appearance highlighted by the blue interior and lighting. We're still discovering/ trying out its features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I did a big kitchen remodel and decided I needed a second oven. I decided on a wall oven and have been so happy since. The oven is easy to use and works great. For my small family I can use just the upper oven (microwave) and it is not only a time saver, but also an energy saver. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought this unit to replace an older Kitchen Aid oven microwave combo that was a 27" unit. We haven't had the chance to really put it through its paces yet but so far we have not had any issues with it. It is a great looking oven and the rack system is really smooth. I like the blue interior and the staggered height LED lights inside the oven. They make it really easy to see inside. The glass in the door is huge and you can view the inside of the oven when the lights are on very nicely. The control panel is well laid out and the touch buttons are extremely sensitive to the touch. Unfortunately like all touch sensitive surface control panels it also shows all your fingerprints. The front of the oven is a great looking unit and I really like the larger handle on the door. The chime system is really nice and you can set the volume to two levels which is nice but I wish you had more settings that two. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I needed to replace my built-in Kitchen Aid Oven/Microwave unit that I purchased in 2000, because of a power surge in my home, & I decided to purchase the very same unit which turned out to be a very wise decision on my part, because I just love it. I am having so much fun trying all of the new features, & everything is just perfect. I just tried the proofing mechanism to make fresh bread which turned out to be amazing. I loved the ease of use for setting the time to bake. The broiler is also fantastic!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Really like the fact that the upper (microwave) oven can also be used for convection. There's only two of us in the house, so makes a lot more sense to heat a smaller oven. There is a "Smart Convection" feature which helps to adapt conventional recipes to convection. What's not to like? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Had unit installed on Dec. 22 just before a big family Christmas Eve dinner. We were anxious as we didn't have much time to read the directions and just started using it. Found it very easy to use and love the features we've used so far. The racks are amazing and slide in and out very easy. Looking forward to exploring all the options it comes with. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This oven pre-heats quickly and bakes evenly. The large oven window is wonderful. I am able to see everything while it cooks. It comes in handing as I monitor food I'm roasting and baking. I like having 3 racks and especially like the bottom rack with full extension. It made loading and unloading a 25 pound turkey simple and easy. The micro wave boils water 3 times as fast as our old one. It is easy to clean and looks fabulous in my newly remodeled kitchen. I have not tried the convection settings yet but am anxious to do so. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We choose this for our kitchen remodel to save space with the attached microwave. I haven't had a chance to use all the functions but so far I LOVE this product. The microwave is a little on the noisy side but we have adjusted. I like that when the microwave is done cooking it keeps the food heated and alarms to remind you that the food is done. The oven is easy to use, bakes well, no complaints. I haven't used the self clean function but that is one of the reasons why I bought it as well-I hate cleaning the oven! It is very sleek and modern looking and a great addition to our new kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We've had our oven for a month and we LOVE it. It looks beautiful, and the microwave/convection top oven option is so functional -- like having 3 ovens instead of 2. It works great, and is very easy to program. And, most importantly, the food comes out perfect every time!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is the first time I've used a separate cooktop and wall oven combo. For some reason, I was a bit apprehensive - I was silly!!! This combination is sleek, powerful, intuitive, and BEAUTIFUL. Visitors check it out and compliment us over it all the time. I love the design - and the cobalt blue interior. It's easy to use and has so many functions. I can't wait to discover and play with them all. It's one of my favorite things in my newly built house (also have Kitchenaid fridge, range hood, dishwasher, cooktop). They are ALL beautiful and make for a gorgeous kitchen. I'm in heaven!!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This combination microwave and convection wall oven is fantastic! The prompts make it easy to use and the features and choices are everything I could ever want in an oven or microwave. It is also quiet and very beautiful. It compliments my other appliances which are also KitchenAid. I couldn't be more pleased with the unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love the bottom shelf on "rollers" --- so easy to baste the turkey - this was a hit at our first Thanksgiving! What is really good is that you can self calibrate! --- No service call needed --- we had some issues baking Holiday cookies, read the book (which I should've done when we moved in!) and saw you can self-calibrate --- perfect! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Only had this for a month but I am super happy with my purchase. I had a GE profile and cooking in it one night it would not cut off and I had to turn off the breaker at the panel for it to cut off. I decided to replace it and I searched for what my wife wanted and settled on this unit. We could not be happier with its performance and also its looks. It really is a serious upgrade to what we had before and we love the sliding rack what a plus. We are still learning all the things it can do but it is great so far and also super quite when the fan is on for cooling which helps since our family room is right beside the kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This beautiful and easy to use combination is such an answer to anyone's desire for the perfect kitchen. I love how it is so easy and provides readouts of the current situation (what time is left on cooking, whether it's convection or not, etc) and it works beautifully. I highly recommend it- it is a well crafted and engineered thing of beauty! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought the kitchen combination oven, its the greatest. ,like my stovetop. I used it to make cookies for Christmas and. Cook Christmas dinner, had no problem it Cooke great, even y thing. Poked evenly the cookies ,not even one burnt cookies everything turned the right shade of what the cookies should be. And the microwave was perfect too , it was great to melt butter, chocolate and heat up items that I needed to use it for. All I can say is that I would never ever buy any other kind of oven or stovetop, I love them? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We purchased this to replace our 16 year old Kitchenaid Combination Wall Oven and couldn't be more pleased. The quality of the craftsmanship and the ease of operation is second to none. In the last week since it was installed, we have roasted, baked, broiled and overall put it through many different functions and could not be happier with the results. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
There is a lot to love about this new kitchen partner, but I'll call out the few that we find most helpful. first of all the large oven window and bright interior make it easy to watch the progress of the items as they're cooking. The real jewel is the convection microwave, however. With he crisper function we no longer have rubbery reheated pizza or potatoes. We make open face grilled cheese and the bread comes out nice and toasty. We can even make omelets unattended. In addition, when we wan to bake something in a small quantity, we use the convection baking function. It's accurate, fast and the result is as good as using the larger oven space. This combo unit is modern and sleek, the displays are cleanly laid out for ease of use. Nothing not to like about this baby. Gotta go now. I made myself hungry writing this review. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love this beautiful combo micro and oven. Bake many things in it so far but haven't used the convection part of it much--still learning. The only thing I'm not sure of is the self cleaning instructions. I was warned by the installer that the self cleaning feature on a combo oven can get it too hot and burn out the computer parts of it sooner or later. Hope this isn't true. He said he has had to replace parts because of this problem and he said I should use oven cleaner instead. Have to check with Kitchenaid about this.
To complete our kitchen reno, we purchased new appliances. So far so good. The microwave/oven combo is great. Haven't yet tried all the features of the microwave. What we have used works great. The oven is fabulous, love the blue color on the inside, the fan is quiet. It's a little louder during the cooling period than during cooking but it's certainly not obnoxiously loud. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought a home with mostly high end appliances, but the Bosch oven and Dacor Microwave started to show their age and we longed for the Kitchen Aid oven we had in our previous home. So we decided to replave it with this new Kitchen Aid combo wall oven. So far we love it. Very intuitive controls and the Microwave offers a lot of cooking option with the combination convection feature. Also love the sliders on the pull out rack and the large window on the door. Could not be happier with our choice.
Our wall unit has now been in our house for 3 months, which means that it has endured the Holiday season at the Martin household with both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The convection features of the main oven and the upper microwave/convection oven are an event saver. With all of that room to cook, and cook evenly, we now have the ability to land entire meals on the table at the same time. Since we're the gathering point for family in the area, that means we're cooking for 8-12 at a time. We love the oven, especially the temperature-specific auto cook features. They take the guesswork out of precise cooking. Everyone in the family, including guests, has adapted to the new addition in the kitchen. We're up for the Holidays this coming year as well. We replaced a very old Dacor double wall oven with this KitchenAid. It looks beautiful but even more importantly works wonderfully. The convection microwave bakes perfect biscuits and the microwaved popcorn did not have a singed piece in the bag. The lower convection oven takes a bit to warm up, but cooks beautifully and the convection fan is quiet. I LOVE the rollout rack. I am very happy with this purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought the Micro/Oven combination to replace two very old used appliances. I love the look of it, the Black Stainless steel is amazing and easy to wipe off. The touch features are easy to use and rotate between the two units. I love the 3 oven pull out racks, and the front opening for a pot holder pulling the rack straight out.Comes with Broiler pan, steamer, and many other accessories. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this appliance combination a couple of weeks ago to replace a similar oven/microwave combination unit. The digital controls are easy to understand and use. The oven regulates temperature well. Many of the features are adjustable allowing you to customize it for your convenience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We spent several months choosing our applicants to upgrade in our new home and we chose this model oven/microwave. It looks great and is such a wonderful addition! My only reason for not rating 5 stars is the fingerprints - if you are one that hates to see them on appliances, this is not the one for you. Other than this, it's beautiful and works great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We bought this to replace a single conventional oven and a separate microwave oven. So far the only complaint is that it is not as good for microwaving TV dinners as the old one. When heating up coffee with micro why doesn't the fan shut off at the end of the 1 min 15 sec cycle? Very annoying [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It looks great...cooks great but the fan on the microwave is too loud...maybe it is a defect...I don't know yet.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought 2 kitchen appliances that were kitchen aid and love them both. They look nice, operate well, and clean easy! I would say the cooling fan on the microwave is alittle loud. However, once you open and shut the door the sound goes away. Overall, I am very pleased with both the oven and the dishwasher! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We got this installed just in time to get the Christmas Baking started. I find the oven a little slow preheating, because I am used to the instant heat from gas (no longer available) Oven cooking is very even, I do not have to swap around the cookie sheets to make sure everything gets browned. Looking forward to doing the Turkey and Ham both at the same time in this HUGE space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this to replace a smaller wall oven and a huge over the cooktop microwave. It looks great and works very well. Microwave is a little different than what I am used to, but I still love it. Only wish the main oven had a fast preheat feature. Love the size, interior color, large oven window. Also had to read the book regarding the broiler! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is a great combo oven/microwave but for the $3000+ price tag it should have a wi-fi connection so the oven can be monitored and operated through an app. In 2016, preheating an oven is something that should be done on your long commute home, not waiting 15-20 minutes once you arrive after pushing a couple buttons. Just a suggestion... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
In use with family of four for one month following major kitchen remodel. Aesthetically very pleasing. Smaller upper oven is used frequently with kids coming and going in the evenings. Replaced a double wall oven with this unit and a freestanding range (for total of three ovens) for full use during larger meals. Bakes evenly. Only complaint is the microwave sounds like it is still running until the door is opened. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this unit at a semi annual appliance sale and am very pleased. One concern is the microwave may have a door problem as it tells me often that it is not closed and cannot cook until fully closed. I hate to slam it and may need to contact service if issue continues. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love the setup of this unit, the ease of rolling a big turkey out of the oven, and the ease of use. My one concern now is that the oven unit temps are off by 25 degrees. I have to get out the manual to see if I can re-calibrate the temps. Other than that, this is a beautiful unit (my sister, who wanted "professional" appliances changed her mind when she saw mine, and is looking at them for her new kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It looks nice in the kitchen. I like the fact that the glass on the oven when not in use is very dark, so not distracting and there is a really bright light in the oven, so you can see your food cooking really well. I also like that it is quiet when cooking and cooling down. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We purchased this unit with other Kitchenaid products as part of our kitchen remodel. We wanted all the appliances to look the same and Kitchenaid had the best overall reviews for all 4 products we purchased (refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop, oven). so far we love it. Looking forward to using the convection and having an electric oven compared to the gas oven we have used the past 20 years [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This unit is one year old. They have been here twice because the microwave constantly thinks the door is open. When you try to start it says "close the door". Sometimes you have to open and close the door several times. The switches have been replaced twice. My Masters' degree in engineering says simple making the plastic ends of the switches 1/16 of an inch longer and there is no longer an issue. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I purchased the Kitchen Aid combination microwave & oven wall mountable unit approximately 1 month ago and everything works well but I miss not being able to observe items cooking in microwave when it is running, microwave portion needs a brighter light or clearer window. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We purchased this for our complete remodel of our kitchen and it was installed April 15,2017. I have already had to call KitchenAid on the microwave on the fan motor. They have to install a fan unit into it! I have only had it for 3 weeks! This is not a good way to begin. I hope this will resolve the issue, and this is not a repeat of problems to come. The jury is still out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Not sure why you cant use the microwave at the same time the oven is on. doesnt make sense.
The computer had to be replaced after about two months because the heating element would shut off in the middle of cooking. There was no indication of this happening on the display, so I ruined a few nice expensive roasts before I knew what had happened. The computer was replaced under warranty and it seems to be working well now. The lower, convection oven preheats rapidly and is very accurate. It maintains the correct temperature very well through the duration of cooking. The large window allows me to see all of what is inside. The upper micro/convection combo is only 900 watts, so it is not as powerful as a lot of countertop models. It doesn't microwave any more evenly than any other micro I have owned. The convection feature works fine once you get it programmed (you don't simply turn it on). There are a bunch of accessories that came with it that seem kind of useless - a big plastic steamer thingy I have no use for and a wire rack that was so tall that a plate set on it would touch the top of the oven. I called Kitchenaid about that and they sent me a shorter one, but I have never found a use for it. The biggest downfall of the oven combo (besides having to wait for a repair right after I bought it) is the controls. The oven controls are fairly straightforward, although there are a bunch of superfluous choices (bake or roast - what's the difference?), the microwave controls are really bizarre. To use just the micro is simple enough - punch in the time and hit start. But, if you are using the lower oven and also want use the micro, you have to push other buttons first, or you shut off the oven by accident, which I invariably do. The convection controls for the microwave are simply bizarre. There is no way to just select a temperature and turn it on - it wants you to tell it how you would cook the item in a conventional oven (temp & time) and then convert it for me. Geez, I know how to cook already, I don't need an appliance to figure it out for me.
We have had this combination unit for 2 1/2 years. After 6 months, my wife ran the self cleaning option on the oven. We then began experiencing rattling noises and vibrating noises. Ultimately, various parts needed to be replaced, but the vibrating sound still exists to this day. It does not impact the performance of the oven, but given the cost and middle / upper end price point, I would not expect to listen to my oven vibrate when the convection fan is running. The other issue was we noticed our bags of popcorn were "less" full than when popped in our previous microwave. It's gotten progressively worse and now not only d several kernels not pop resulting in about 1/2 bag of popped corn, but the one's that do pop are not quite fully popped resulting in a smaller popped kernel. In terms of looks, it is a great unit. Outside of the issues with the kernels, it cooks wonderfully. So, if you don't eat popcorn and can remember to NOT use the self clean option and clean it by hand, you will be very pleased with this wall oven combination product.
Bought this a month ago. Took some time getting used to microwave only 900 watts. I didn't think they made microwaves less than 1200 watts anymore. Oven takes forever to heat up also. Other than that works great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I haven't figured out how to use all the features. They seem complicated. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This was an upgrade from the builder. I had Kitchen Aid appliances in my previous home. The first time I tried to use the microwave and oven at the same time, everything shut down. The first contact with the help desk was that I couldn't use both at the same time. WRONG. Eventually they decided I merited a service call. The service people were great and diagnosed the problem. A second visit from them resulted in new fans for both oven and microwave. However the microwave fan is SO NOISY I dread using it and I'm a heavy duty fan of microwave cooking. So I'm very disappointed in this product. NOT at all like my vintage 1999 appliances in my previous home. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The first time I used the oven for roasting grease got inside the oven glass. I used the quick self clean cycle. The next day I tried Castile soap and water and also glass cleaner. The beautiful blue interior is now not as shiny and the oven glass is completely streaked with grease. It can't be cleaned according to the Kitchenaid customer care rep. You'd have to take apart the door which would void the warranty. The convection roast did a great job on the meat but I am totally disillusioned w kitchenaid product quality. I would expect them to replace my door due to the poor degree of maintenance ability.
I purchased this unit to replace a similar one that had broken down after the motherboard failed on it (due to self-cleaning and the motherboard for the old unit was obsolete). We find so far that the unit is okay, but fails to get to the correct temperature. For example, if we set it for 350 degrees, when we measure it, it's only getting to 335. So we are constantly having to adjust the temperature setting to make it correct for cooking and baking. Also, we have found that when the oven is on, we microwave oven has to be manually controlled and set as the automatic settings don't work when the lower oven is on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We purchased this oven/microwave combo for our newly built house. It is a very beautiful unit with clean lines and I love the handles. However, the microwave is very loud while running and something in it is rattling. I was hoping to love this fancy, new microwave, but I am so annoyed by how loud it is. (I do like the features tho, like the melt/soften butter...) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Recommended to us by our favorite appliance store. Installed in recent kitchen remodel, replacing a reliable Dacor Convection unit. The controls are cryptic to figure -- sometimes a single button to achieve the function we need, sometimes a maze of questions and entries to get started. The preheat is *slow*. Even 10 minutes after the sensor claims the oven is at the setpoint, the actual is still lagging. Typical performance for Convetion-Bake mode after 30 minutes without opening the door is +/- 20 or more degrees from the desired temperature. Try baking cookies with precision like that! (sarcasm intended). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this wall unit of oven and microwave combo recently and have had chances to use the microwave oven several times. This microwave oven has only 900 w of power, which is less than the one I had before and therefore, it takes longer to heat and cook the food. Many heating time of frozen dishes is based 1000 w; therefore, you will have to extend the time of cooking. The microwave door design is not optimum for short people. As this unit is wall oven and the microwave is on the top, when the door is opened, the pull-open door is in the way to put food in and to take food out. It is particularly dangerous to take it out as at this point food is hot. The lighting design in the microwave is not optimum either. It is so dim and I have difficult time to look inside when cooking. When cooking liquid stuff, I have had a habit to look inside the microwave to make sure the liquid does not boil over, Due to the poor lighting design, I have a hard time to look insight now. The fan inside the microwave is too noisy and it is louder than the beep sound (indicating cooking is done). And the fan continues to run even cooking is done making difficult to know cooking being done. I have not tried the oven yet so I can not make comments. Purchased the Kitchenaid 30" Convection Oven Microwave combo and installed it in the built in cabinet in my new kitchen after hooking up the electric. Microwave cooling fan makes a VERY LOUD noise when in use. Service tech came out the first time from Allentown Pa area and diagnosed the problem and ordered a replacement part and rescheduled for a new service appointment. Brand new Out of the box major appliance that evidently was not factory tested and needs to be fixed immediately is not a confidence builder in Kitchenaid products. Service appointment was cancelled the morning it was scheduled by the service company and I was told I never confirmed, which was not true. They admitted that they did not have the part and that was the reason for the cancellation at the final hour. Rescheduled again and same thing, you never confirmed service appointment, again not true. They called back and said can we come earlier to repair the unit, and wife said no problem. Never showed up and then called and said the part came in broken. No confidence at all in the service company From Allentown area that they will show up again this Thursday and when I called Kitchenaid Customer service, they really have not provided any positive results. Asked to have the appliance exchanged but no answer. Extremely dissatisfied and will be calling Home Depot to let them know that the credit card charge will be disputed until the product is exchanged with a new functional unit. The answer is not for me to purchase an extended warranty, at my expense, to protect the poor quality control from the Kitchenaid Factory. Had a THermador double oven, convection, MW combo for 28 years with no issues before this. Regret purchasing this Appliance.
I am disappointed that the two doors do not aline, the bottom, oven door, protrudes out 1/4 inch more than the top door on the microwave. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Just installed this oven. First time I used it there was a horrible rattle when running the microwave. Total Appliance Service said they would take apart and fix. A one week old appliance should not have to be serviced! KitchenAid Service representative told me the appliances are made by humans and there are going to be problems. Right out of the box? What about quality control? I'm expecting a replacement, but KitchenAid Rep said that KitchenAid doesn't do this. Doesn't stand behind their products for a week? Help please.
saw it in the showroom, bought it, once it was delivered, door not attached, screws loose in the bottom of the box.door not flush with the mirco-wave. had another one delivered with the same problem only now with the micro-wave. took several service calls and techs coming out to "fix it"! quality of workmanship is poor. no quality control. Tech admitted that there have been many problems with the unit. wouldn't buy it again! waiting for the other shoe to drop! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have used this microwave for a total of about 15 times over the course of 4 years because we use this residence as a 2nd home. The microwave has completely stopped heating. It appears to be a switch problem in the door. To repair it will cost over $750 because the warranty has expired. After such little use, there is just no excuse. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances: a combination microwave/wall oven, a 36" side by side refrigerator, a dishwasher, a 36" 5 burner cooktop, an exhaust hood, and a 24" under counter wine cooler. The wine cooler has stopped working and the microwave has died. So much for KitchenAid quality! Unfortunately, all of our kitchen cabinets were built custom around all of these appliances. I believe we're stuck with more of this garbage unless we go to a cabinet maker to have the cabinets refitted for some other product.
My wife and I bought a combination microwave/conventional oven (microwave up top, oven below) for over $3000 over a year ago. The oven has an intermittent problem. It will preheat correctly to a set temperature (say 350 degrees), but then will not maintain that temperature (temperature will drop to 250 degrees in 1/2 hour or so, and continue to drop). Turning the oven off, then setting it to pre-heat to 350 degrees does not always cause the oven to go back to the proper temperature (oven display will read 250 and stay that way). Factory trained technicians sent by Kitchenaid have now been out 5 times to fix the problem. This last time, they called the Kitchenaid technical support line, and they told them to hardwire the oven temperature probe (remove the socket that it was sitting in- they believe it may be causing an intermittent connection). If this is the correct solution to the issue, they why will the temperature display read 250 degrees (matching an in oven thermometer) and stay there when trying to preheat to 350 degrees? The sensor has to be working correctly for the oven display to read the actual oven temperature yet it still doesn't preheat back to 350 deg. When I asked to speak directly to the technical support line to explain why I don't think their fix will work, I was told by the technician at my house that this was not possible. When I called Kitchenaid and asked to speak to repair technical support, I was told after being on hold for 15 min two times (total of 30min in the same phone call) that this also was not possible. So I guess we are screwed as far as having guests over for Christmas dinner. We have a very expensive oven that we cannot rely on (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). Would you be happy spending this much on an oven, spending this much time off work due to service calls, and being forced to take a chance inviting people over for dinner and your oven doesn't work? This was installed the end of November 2015. Temperature test at install was good. Next day "dead". Waited two weeks for parts and when we called the local repair shop designated by Kitchen Aide they didn't know what parts they had in for the fix or when it would be. The next day they called with the parts and came out and did the repair. The main oven was off by 30 degrees! We had to use their "Tool" to boost the temp by 30 degrees whenever we set a cooking temperature. The "convection oven" part wonders all over the temperature set point. We don't really know what temperature we are cooking at. See attached picture. We would NOT RECOMMEND this product! AT ALL!
I had this oven combination installed on a Friday and the next day the upper microwave stopped working. I called customer support with the error code and was told to schedule a repair. The technician came on the next Tuesday and took the oven apart just to order a new control board. The technician came with The new part on Friday (1 week after install) and installed. That part did not resolve issue. Here I am going on two weeks and with a fully paid for appliance and can't use.
I just bought this oven a few weeks. I have had a repair man out TWICE due to the LOUD noise from the oven and the light does not always work on the microwave. To add insult to injury, when repair has come out (the first time my window was between 8am and 5pm and he arrived at 4:55), there was no grinding sound and the microwave light went on. I was told to make another appointment. The following week, the second repairman designated my oven as having an "intermittent problem". I showed both repairman several videos taken of my "intermittent problem". They both said there was nothing they could do. Every time the oven goes on it makes a HORRIBLE grinding sound. It worked great for the first week!
Worst appliance purchase I have ever made. Our microwave stopped working within 30 days of purchase. Had to have a repair person that KitchenAid sent come out twice to fix the issue. The first person after five minutes said he had to order a part and left. A week later another person came and said he didn't know how to fix it, and we had to have him call Kitchen Aid for directions. Less than two weeks later the microwave has gone out again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNIT!!!
purchased & installed Dec 2, microwave makes rattling sound & doesn't shut off when cooking is complete, just keeps running & running, have to manually cancel. Technician supposed to come last Thursday & didnt, called again & he came on Friday around 3. He listened, mused about what might be wrong, said he'd speak to a technician at Whirpool & get back to me. He was here about 5 mins., not a problem fixer, a problem identifier I guess! wonder when I'll hear back...terrible experience , expensive appliance!!!!! The first unit we bought was highly defected from the first time it was installed. The microwave light never worked and I was never able to use the oven and microwave simultaneously. What's the point of a combination unit??? The oven would randomly preheat when I was microwaving something and the light would turn on and off. It was possessed. I called KitchenAid service and they sent out techs... At least 8 times. Replaced numerous parts. It was under warranty, but I felt unsafe using the unit. The service line kept telling me that "engineering was working on a fix." I was 7 months pregnant and didn't have time to wait on engineers. It finally got replaced entirely after 11 months of them trying to repair the unit. The only reason they replaced it was because of the fit I threw and asked to speak to a manager. Oh, and they didnt have a company in our city to install it, so I had to outsource the installation and coordinate everything myself. I replaced it with the same unit because I had already bought a matching dishwasher. The KitchenAid dishwasher pump broke a few months later. I'll never buy another KitchenAid product as long as I live. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
